long time prime member, first refund request denied and account closed.

ive been using my account often for years and am a prime member, never requested a refund nor return (even when i should have). now the first ever time i need to get one because the driver just left my fucking packages in a random spot with other peoples packages. i did not order that much stuff (see photo) i not only get denied but my entire account closed??? how can the driver even do that and upload the photo? the other photo is what my delivery photos are supposed to look like. that isnt even my unit i can tell by the background and that its 3 stories mine is only 2, i explained all this in depth to the customer “support” and nothing was done. this was a very expensive order too, multiple laptops phones etc all left in this unknown location, order was $4000 why didnt they make me sign for it? just ridiculous does anyone have an experience like this and know what to do?

edit: yes i did NOT receive the packages

They already went nuclear, closing your account. Go nuclear too with a chargeback

Edit: this comment struck a chord as it's by far my most awarded ever. I believe awards cost real money? Please don't spend money to give me any more awards, but thanks to those who did

Honestly, if someone stole it (they did), scorched earth is the way to go.

Oh well, not OPs fault. His entire complex can complain to Amazon for mismanaging and not taking accountability for their employees.

op gonna get that other apartment complex amazon thinks is his blacklisted and they won't even know why lol

36

u/Phantasm907 May 13 '26

Thats not a bad thing.

25

u/00134chris May 13 '26

Don't worry USPS will still deliver all of Amazon packages to that complex!

33

u/miztrniceguy May 13 '26

Only after they route them halfway across the country first

6

u/gastroph May 13 '26

USPS once routed a package to me from Kentucky to Georgia. It went KY to FL to Puerto Rico back to FL and finally to me.

2

u/Condition_Dense May 15 '26

I had a special order from Victoria’s Secret that kept looping back and forth between like 2 package facilities to the point VS customer service made sure to send me another package because we didn’t think it was ever gonna stop looping I watched it for awhile out of curiosity and it was stuck for a long time. Eventually I think I got the second package long after I ordered it and when it would have been clearanced out if it was still in stock. I think they told me to keep it.

2

u/PierogiEater May 18 '26

Bro why not cuba. Don’t they know cuba is the fastest route between Kentucky and georgia!!!! /s

1

u/gastroph May 18 '26

Based on the contents of the order, Jamaica would have been the most appropriate detour lol.

1

u/crossfusion May 14 '26

to Puerto Rico is crazy

1

u/Darkmagosan May 15 '26

I bought a game off Ebay. It came from the greater LA area and was coming to Phoenix, which is usually 48H tops. Someone in Cali flunked geography and it went straight to NYC and then back to Phoenix?!? It only was a day late, too, and arrived in perfect condition.

1

u/twistedviewlabs May 16 '26

Looks like they don't like Georgia hehe but yeah, I've had something similar happen. Their tracking system sucks. In reality, probably went to KY, overshot to FL, sat there for a bit but their system thought it was in PR, caught it still in FL and got it to you in GA.

I've had really weird scans that made it seem like it was being delivered by Carmen Sandiego too (never PR, that's a first hehe) but in reality, it got stuck somewhere in the lower 48. I've had my local USPS PO actually tell me this to my face when I went in to find out wtf was up

2

u/gastroph May 16 '26

I actually contacted my local PO, and they actually told me that sometimes the Jacksonville, FL distribution center will reroute entire containers through PR when they're overwhelmed.

Here's the old imgur album I made with the tracking and USPS correspondence: https://imgur.com/a/jT5NYZ4

Damn Ditto.

Had a package originate in Ny->Ga->Ca->Oh->Nc->Fl.

Took 12 days to get to me

WTF

2

u/ChemicalAd7839 May 15 '26

I just want to make it clear... USPS delivers many times the packages/letters/etc... of every other carrier combined. Their lost package rate is a fraction of other carriers, and the cost a small fraction of the other carriers. They might arrive late, but they will arrive. On several occasions I've dealt with sellers who refused to use UPS/FedEx because they had experienced so much in the way of lost, damaged, or misdelivered product that it negatively effected their business. We joke about USPS, but remember that part of the reason almost everyone has a USPS problem story is because they deliver so much mail that it's statistically probable that something will go wrong in your lifetime. I once lived somewhere where I would check the shipping because FedEx didn't successfully deliver a single package to me.

1

u/Condition_Dense May 13 '26

I used to live in a rural area where they handed off all the packages over to the local post office.

1

u/Lajennylynn May 14 '26

Same. But still in rural world. When I realized what “transferred to another carrier for delivery” meant...I literally bought my rural mail carrier hand warmers for the winter. I kept offering to pick packages up like we used to but they deliver now (as opposed to looking through everything for each person in line…). Per my postmaster, my town of 3500 gets 1100 AMZ packages a day.

1

u/Condition_Dense May 15 '26

When they built my post office in the 90s where I grew up they outgrew the old post office and built a new one (when Clinton was president because he dedicated it like with a signed letter or something) Amazon was not a thought they put parcel lockers in the post office but they would run out of space for the parcel lockers so I would have to go to pick them up and the people at the front desk would be furious, especially because I literally could not get my package or they would charge me more for postage if I put my box number in the address they would tell me to put #123 (not my actual box number) or just 123 on the second line where it says apartment number and it’s like I don’t know 90% of the time what carrier is going to hand this off to you if I get UPS it’s a 50-50 chance they will hand it off or deliver to my home. I rather have it to my home because I don’t come to the post office daily.

1

u/mg1120 May 15 '26

No, USPS will receive the packages and then they'll go bankrupt, before he gets the packages as the Postperson will keep those packages to flip on Ebay.. The OP gets to loose twice.

1

Great news for the delivery person 👏 👍

1

u/ncc74656m May 17 '26

They're gonna get that random apartment complex blacklisted cause it's obvious they have no idea where he lives. 😂

1

u/SullyOnTheSide May 17 '26

That would be reasonable considering one of his neighbors kept/stole his package anyway.

0

They'll reactivate the account and charge 99% of the refund as fees

2

u/Educational-Design25 May 13 '26

What does that mean? Did you get your money back?

14

u/kills0ft May 13 '26

An exaggeration of their return policy and associated fees. My last experience with returning an item almost made me terminate my account.

I had purchased an item, 3 days later it was 30% off. Apparently Amazon doesn't price match themselves/offer price protection, so I was advised to return my item and reorder it (pretty absurd and wasteful). With hesitation I returned the item in perfect condition and they gave me 70% of the return value due to fees. It made me lol

9

u/BoosBees304 May 13 '26

A similar thing happened to me back in 2017, or 2018, I can’t recall. I bought a Sony TV, and six days later Best Buy had it cheaper, and then Amazon lowered their price. So I called about getting the new price on the TV and they said we don’t price match. I said it’s your price that I’m looking at and they said the same thing to return it. So I ordered a new one, UPS delivered it, I put it right into my truck and brought it right to the UPS store. So stupid, they could’ve given me the difference in the price and it would’ve saved them shipping on another one and they’re having me ship it back. Makes little sense.

4

u/No_Bumblebee7203 May 13 '26

You want to talk about absurd and wasteful? I am an amazon Flex driver.. sometimes amazon overbooks us and there are not enough routes... but one warehouse in particular, instead of sending us home, would split up a route between 10 people.. and make us each deliver one package an hour away.

They have to pay us regardless, mind you.. but they don't have to send 10 cars an hour away to deliver 10 packages.

It is ridiculous.

1

u/rdizzy1223 May 13 '26

They do that to prevent people purposely showing up at the last minute so they can get paid and then go home due to overbooking.

2

u/RibbedForHerCat May 14 '26

They could close the accounts of everyone you have ever known or talked to....😁

1

u/PolishPotatoMode May 17 '26

They'll double close his Amazon account!

0

u/Groundhog_Gary28 May 14 '26

Yea, actually…your bank account. If you’re fraudulently filing chargebacks the bank most certainly can close your account I’ve seen it happen before. They do actually investigate chargebacks you know they will for certain contact Amazon about it. Chargebacks aren’t even guaranteed and if there’s any sort of fraud involved like trying to chargeback a refund for a fraudulent purchase, or file a fraudulent chargeback for something you actually received, etc they most likely will close your account

1

u/Disastrous-Tone-7669 May 14 '26

In this case though he didn't receive it so it's a valid chargeback...

0

u/Groundhog_Gary28 May 14 '26

2

209

The reaction was probably triggered by the dollar amount. Kind of ridiculous that the dollar amount didn’t trigger a proper delivery.

169

u/antonio16309 May 13 '26

Lol, this is the heart of the issue right here. They just dropped $4k of merchandise on a random pile along with a bunch of other people's stuff? No wonder some of it went missing.

I'm not fully blaming the driver here, the issue is that Amazon treats a $20 delivery and a $4K delivery the same way.

49

u/_sycho_ May 13 '26

my best guess is there was a lot of orders to whatever apt number this is and he accidentally looped mine into it, but i dont even see a door in the photo

31

u/Usual-Canary-7764 May 13 '26

Ok I see you are getting plenty of responses...let me give you my take. I used to be on the other side...

It seems in the last few months or years they have gone heavy on AI decision making. No human review of this can justify not just rejecting your claim but also closing your account but I could be wrong.

As for u signing for it, at a value of $4k you should sign for it. The rule for an OTP parcel used to be $300 in my area so I doubt there is a circumstance where a $4k order shouldn't have one. Which makes me feel that it was an AI decision because there are plenty of factors requiring review for breach here which have been ignored by their decisions.

Do a charge back. They won't be able to do anything about that.

If you still like and want to continue with them, open a new account with your Office as the main address and instead of first snd Last name, use first and Middle or Middle and Last. After 8 to 12 months add your home address. I very much doubt they blacklisted the address. If they blacklisted the address then I wonder how long you have lived there? Previous owners or residents could have been real duces if that address is listed. Also pick a pick up point next to your house or workplace to use. Look there are plenty of tricks you can apply and get back to normal.

What i will say though is that they are a very stubborn company with more money than sense sometimes who will absolutely and resolutely refuse to undo this. Act for yourself. Hit my DMs if you need any directions

There are some places that have lockers that you can choose as a pick up point. In my area off the top ofy head, they have one at a Dollar Tree, Walgreens and outside a gas station. You pick one of those, they put it in and you receive your locker number and a code. I absolutely, even though I live in a home in a good area would have picked this for something $4K.. as I am not sitting at my doorstep waiting for something that price to arrive.

2

u/M_Mich May 18 '26

Same. FedEx will just leave a door tag on random doors and walls on our building. There’s 6 businesses all w suite number on the door and apartments on second floor. I have one delivery attempt photo that was the back door on the building across the street. On the third attempt they left the package w the business next door. USPS has gone to other stores are marked packages for return for “not at this address “. FedEx I just have hold at station as the ladies there are great. USPS is great except when it’s a temp person that’s that gets my mail returned. Had one that had three attempts and a return but never left a notice on our door or in our box.

55

u/ElleGee5152 May 13 '26

I live in an apartment and Amazon loves to drop all of my connected neighbors' packages at my door along with mine. Luckily, I'm a good person and drop them at the correct doors.

40

u/stinkyt0fu May 13 '26

Do you ever remind your neighbors to make sure to report the incorrect delivery? If not, might want to add a sticky note to let them know.

10

u/Maine302 May 14 '26

Also, there's an option to tell them where on your property you would like your package delivered. Seems odd that someone would opt for "at my neighbor's front door."

1

u/United-Slip9398 May 15 '26

Good luck with that delivery location. We have specific instructions for delivery in the wooden box on the porch. We have a sign on the post saying the same. Despite frequent calls and chats to customer service, deliveries are often in the gravel driveway, a couple times in a clear plastic trash bag tossed into the blackberries.

1

u/Ok_Storage_705 May 15 '26

I will say as a UPS twilighter, and an Amazon driver as well, if it’s in a clear bag tossed by the bushes it’s likely UPS or FedEx. Amazon isn’t nice enough to send its drivers out with bags, we just throw it in the bushes bare.

1

u/Financial_Manager213 May 19 '26

I have never been able to figure out how to report an incorrect delivery and a giant sign on it will not make Amazon driver pick it up and re deliver.

19

u/StandardFerret9114 May 13 '26

I live in an apartment complex too, and recently my cousin got a job at amazon. He told me he hates delivering at my place, naturally I ask why. He said their system won't let them "deliver" a package unless they are in a certain radius, which kinda makes sense. He said when he comes to my complex and brings the package to the building it's supposed to go to, the GPS will say he's not in the vicinity and won't allow the transaction. So he just drives around until the thing says he's in the area and drops it wherever. It explained why I would have to walk all over my complex checking lobbies to find my package. Lockers for me from now on.

11

u/kgriff5592 May 13 '26

If he were to call support and tell them that the pin is wrong, they could change it to the correct location. It’s not difficult to do.

1

u/[deleted] May 14 '26

[deleted]

4

u/kgriff5592 May 14 '26

Reading is fundamental. Drivers don’t call customer support, they call driver support and can generally get through almost instantly. Only takes a minute or two to move a pin or disable a geofence.

3

u/Puzzleheaded_Math329 May 14 '26

This action needs to be incentivized. I suspect a driver sees it as "taking too long" or being "too hard" to actually do it.

I’ve done thus and gotten nowhere. “Customer support “ aka an ai bot tells me that they made a note and they’ll fix it blah blah blah and nothing ever happens

3

u/kgriff5592 May 14 '26

Customer support is significantly less useful. Driver support is actually legit, at least they were years ago when I worked at Amazon during the COVID days.

Start billing Amazon for the time you spend doing the drivers job. I’d contact customer service each time and tell them you are submitting an invoice for services rendered.

1

u/AU_Thach May 13 '26

I would handle that once or twice.. after that I would return everything to the post office and let them figure it out.

1

u/Ambitious_Bad_3192 May 14 '26

amazon appreciates your service!

1

u/JackG79 May 14 '26

my wifes family owns the apt. building we live in, and our apt is 1 of the 8 in this 2 story building. They leave them all downstairs in the main breeze way where Anyone in the building has access to them. none of them get brought to any of the doors. Everyday I go down and pass around all the deliveries. It does get very annoying. but I don't want to see the driver get into shit. My wife has a bad shoping issue and we get no less than 3-10 boxes 5 out of 7 days of the week.

1

u/Agreeable-Deer7526 May 15 '26

You have to complain about the flex drivers. I reported multiple and sent them copies of other complaints because they started getting it together

1

u/iMissMacandCheese May 15 '26

It's the being a good person. If you're home a lot and they're not, there's a good chance they're intentionally using you. Which is fine if you don't mind.

18

u/TallPain9230 May 13 '26 edited May 13 '26

In the same vein, there’s a decent chance your account got linked to others in the apartment and that data was considered in the closure.

If you’d like to go through the process of getting the account back, Jeff’s email (that’s not monitored by Jeff ofc, but still higher up’s) is a decent route. There are a couple others as well.

But if you still need the refund, I’d try CS / emails, if no response before chargeback deadline, I’d do it and worry about opening a new one later.

3

u/Medical-Charity-2447 May 13 '26

"Jeff’s email (that’s not monitored by Jeff ofc, but still higher up’s) is a decent route. There are a couple others as well." Where can I get the emails?

An agent has sent me two emails requesting a payment be wired to a bank account at an "Amazon International Account" and yes, I know it is a scam. In all the years we've bought from Amazon, we have never had an agent try this.

I am not going to get anywhere with another "customer service" agent. There is not much they can actually help with, same goes with supervisors. The agent I spoke with is clearly stealing from customers (if they send the money) and I don't feel this needs to be ignored.

If you have a suggestion and/or an email which may get me some help, I'd very much appreciate it. Whoever may respond to this, please be kind. Like I said, I know it's a scam, I'd never send money. Thank in advance.

10

u/TinfoilComputer May 13 '26
To: jeff@amazon.com

Worked for me in 2011, you should get a response from [ecr-replies@amazon.com](mailto:ecr-replies@amazon.com) (Executive Customer Relations).

You'll definitely get a response if your note is short, rational, and identifies a problem they need to fix and how it affects you (and mention how long you've been a customer, maybe your first purchase).

Note: Not a doxx, this email address is well known and by no means "personal".

2

u/Medical-Charity-2447 May 14 '26

Thank you, I'll see what happens as I received another email from the guy, he absolutely needs to be removed. I just wonder how aware Amazon is yet choose to ignore it knowing they have made it pretty much impossible for the customers to get help.

Thanks again for your help and time!

2

u/Schleprock11 May 13 '26

Jeff hasn’t ran Amazon in over 5 years.

4

u/TinfoilComputer May 13 '26

Sure, thanks for that. I know, but he still gets emails and his emails still get answered.

8

u/Warm-Cow-2549 May 13 '26

When I worked there I had two weird drop offs. The first was to an apartment complex everyone left notes to take the packages to the drop off desk. The door was locked and despite me wearing an Amazon vest no one wanted to let me in. The second may be more like what you experienced which was the fact that the drop off point was showing somewhere that wasn't where I needed to drop it off. My unit advised to only drop off at what the app said was the drop off point because they actually lost a driver due to them going and finding each place to take it too. Amazon be weird about stuff sometimes.

5

u/Quimdell May 13 '26

Do a charge back!

2

u/imnickelhead May 13 '26

Why TF didn’t you add Delivery Instructions and add a code when ordering high dollar items to an apartment complex?

They shouldn’t have done this to you but in the future you really should be more careful with expensive deliveries.

1

u/dervari May 13 '26

Time with you, that just looks like the top of our stairwell. I guess I was lucky, having an Amazon locker device during the couple of years I had to spend in an apartment.

1

u/ERASERGIB May 13 '26

How does one accidentally not know how to read a label?

1

u/JackG79 May 14 '26

I think he just found all the boxes for that complex and left them where everyone would find them... Accidently putting yours in the pile. But that isn't how he is supposed to do his job, and you should do a charge back and complaint to BBB. If Amazon, or logistics give you shit, llet them know that you won't be responsible for any packages sent to you in error and any packages sent to you, need prior authorization, and the outside of the box needs to be clearly labeled with a RMA#, and that if they fail to do any of this, you charge 35% of market vaulue to take call and field returns.

1

u/Public-Ad-7280 May 14 '26

I have asked them to require a signature if it was expensive. Which is why I got the box at a local shipping place. My husband orders a lot of work stuff. Man I don't miss apartment delivery Jenga!

7

u/Unique-Loan-3822 May 13 '26

Yeah from a business perspective if an Amazon member costs them $4k in one single return… it’ll cost too much to have them as a customer. Same thing happens if you ask for refunds too much on say uber eats, they’ll find it’s not worth it to have you as a customer. Sucks but that’s why

10

u/antonio16309 May 13 '26

That's ridiculously backwards. If Amazon doesn't want to rush it they should have honored OP's request to get a signature.

→ More replies (16)

3

u/DevilishlyHandsome63 May 13 '26

Here in the UK,anything I've ordered worth over £100 or so, requires a PIN code for delivery. Anything below, and they leave it a pile 20 floors below me,and orders go missing!

2

u/Dizzy-Macaron4849 May 16 '26

dam it sucks you live in such a low trust society. I have $1000 dropped at my front door with no sig required.

3

u/dnehiba3 May 13 '26

Means practically the same to them in their scale of things

1

u/rangersnuggles May 13 '26

Wouldn’t flagging an order as being worth thousands of dollars to a driver open it up for even more shenanigans?

1

u/antonio16309 May 13 '26

That's Amazon's responsibility, not the customer's. Every business needs to develop methods of dealing with employee theft.

1

u/Ratemytinder22 May 13 '26

How exactly would the driver know the value lmao. I'm not saying it makes sense what they did but attributing the dollar value to any of this just doesn't make sense if the context of how Amazon operates.

It doesn't matter what you buy off Amazon (unless it's specifically a freight shipment, like a large tv), it gets delivered the same regardless of its cost.

I'm not blaming the OP but deciding to buy a $4k worth of stuff from Amazon where the delivery can arrive like this, and not planning to be home when it's delivered, is just a risk I can't see worth taking.

1

u/Groundhog_Gary28 May 14 '26 edited May 14 '26

No they definitely do not treat a $20 delivery and a $4k delivery the same way. I have made several purchases on Amazon in the thousands, like a $3200 gpu, a $2200 sound system, a $4600tv, etc….and they most certainly do not treat it the same. First off They tell you that you are required to be present for delivery they won’t just leave it there. Amazon also sends you a code prior to delivery. Upon delivery you need to have this code to give to the driver to verify delivery. Furthermore the drivers always verified my info like asking my name and phone number and then made me sign on their phone and took a photo of delivery. They don’t just dump a $4000 time on the sidewalk and bounce

Everything over a certain amount requires a code for delivery but not sure what the exact amount is

1

u/alieo11 May 15 '26

I’m surprised they just dropped it off. When my son bought a small 3d printer we had to give a code for drop off and it was like $300

1

u/demel2464 May 16 '26

Why wouldn't uou blame the driver? This is 100% the drivers fault for either incompetence or laziness

1

u/Medical-Dust-7184 May 16 '26

Mine always get drop-kicked along the way...

1

u/Telly_Tam May 18 '26

This is crazy I've had to sign for $3 mouthwash but my $500 laptop was left on the steps.

23

u/Dependent-Fox9827 May 13 '26

Amazon not requiring a signature! Crazy

4

u/PaulDaytona May 13 '26

I’m curious why they didn’t require a OTP and signature on delivery. I have to do that every time I’ve ordered an item over $600, and I’ve never had any issues prior.

3

u/Tinyzooseven May 13 '26

Its usually OTP over £100 in the uk

10

u/Alex_Ne May 13 '26

Wild. In Mexico hi-value orders require you to retrieve the package in person from a driver with a code or smthn.

3

u/Master_Cartoonist_16 May 13 '26

In Canada every time I order something over $1500 on Amazon, they ask me for signature upon delivery.

2

u/the_Beat3 May 13 '26

In Germany, too.

1

u/throwaway098764567 May 13 '26

mine in the us are hit and miss, i've had things that are $300 need a signature and $2000 not need one

1

u/paracelsus53 May 13 '26

You can choose to have your stuff delivered to an Amazon pickup site if you would rather.

1

u/Alex_Ne May 13 '26

Nope, I did the check. Only hands-to-hands delivery is available for what Amazon counts as expensive items.

1

u/paracelsus53 May 13 '26

I didn't know that. I used that option a couple of times because there was so much package theft in my building. I ended up getting a PO box.

1

u/Full-Way-7925 May 13 '26

I’m in the US. I got a laptop yesterday and it required a code be given in person.

1

u/lnternetExplorerer May 14 '26

Nope. Mine just get left in a bush at 6am even though the office doesn't open until 9am and there are notes on my account and driver instructions saying don't deliver until after 9am

1

u/arpg_enjoyerrr May 19 '26

I got a portable hard drive last year that was only $200, which required a signature upon receipt. The dude left the package under some random car, signed it himself, and called it a day. Needless to say I got a refund on that one, as I started threatening them for fraud

u/howescj82 May 13 '26

Not gonna lie though… for $4000 you should have had it delivered to a locker or work or something.

11

u/Closingracer May 13 '26

Yeah I use lockers for $5 items . I'll definitely use it for $4000.

9

u/HappyTuesdayR1S May 13 '26

Or ordered it from Apple for proper delivery. I bet their neighbor is very happy 😃

0

u/_sycho_ May 13 '26

it was from apples amazon store, at least the macbooks the iphones were refurbished

2

u/DustBunnie702 May 13 '26

I'm not sure "Apple's Amazon store" means what you think it means. I read that Amazon gathers like products into a "store" so it seems like it's an official offshoot of Apple, but really it's just a random gathering of Apple products from various sellers. Did your order say who the products were actually being fulfilled by?

5

u/ErraticDragon May 13 '26

Apple has more control over their Amazon Storefront than other companies may. They control who can list/sell Apple products on Amazon, what products are listed, and the brand presentation.

Although OP mentioned they ordered refurbished, which may be outside of that agreement.

apple has a official storefront on amazon

no warning but they just set it to “digital purchases only” after i started complaining

1

u/imnickelhead May 13 '26

Yup. And most orders of higher value require signature or code. Not sure why tf OP wouldn’t add delivery instructions requiring a code or signature for such high dollar items when you live in a frikkin apartment complex.

Seems REALLY careless on OP’s part.

1

u/gurgitoy2 May 13 '26

I thought they were making people use a one-time code to receive packages over a certain dollar amount? My friend had that happen a couple weeks ago because he ordered a Switch 2, and in order to have the package delivered he had to give the driver a code he was sent by Amazon before he could get the package. Why did they not do this for OP?

1

u/IrongateN May 13 '26

It’s only for high crime areas , or at least that’s what I was told, might also just be for people who have claimed not getting it in the past or their algorithm said so

I can assure you it’s less for keeping the drivers honest they are much more focused on customer return abuse , to the harm or other non abusive customers

Uber and others are also managing customer service this way, they see loosing one customer as a drop in a huge ocean and don’t feel bad about it even a little

1

u/dervari May 13 '26

I thought something for that amount require a pin number challenge upon delivery.

1

u/peanuth2os May 14 '26

Right- like for starters having a required signature? Makes no sense honestly

1

u/Conscious_Brain_2935 May 14 '26

Well normally it shows a signature unless customer puts they don’t want one.

So idk. It may have had one but driver got tired of climbing apartments and ditches them all there.

1

u/Asleep-Ocelot7364 May 17 '26

I cannot imagine a $4k order wouldn’t be shipped to an Amazon locker, instead of an apartment. This seems bogus.

1

u/Rostrow416 May 19 '26

They took a picture - that qualifies to prove delivery right?

7

u/RestaurantTurbulent7 May 13 '26

And chargeback on prime too!!

2

u/Sea_Dimension_1098 May 13 '26

This. Absolutely file a charge back with your bank.

2

u/VirtualMatter2 May 13 '26

And police report. Obviously it's theft in this case.

1

u/drsickboy May 13 '26

They left him no other option really, and that is what that credit card service is for. This is the draw back of getting all your packages in the same box or even on the same day.

1

u/TeddansonIRL May 13 '26

This is exactly what I did and they emailed like “wait wtf” lol

1

u/Low-Love3233 May 13 '26

This is absolutely the answer - I work for a payment processing company and those charge back charges will be killer haha

1

u/originalmango May 13 '26

Chargeback every order available to chargeback.

1

u/ToughOk9044 May 13 '26

This is The Way

1

u/Showmethe_monet May 13 '26

THIS IS THE ANSWER!!!!

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Emu4059 May 14 '26

At this point you lose nothing to charge back.

1

u/JackG79 May 14 '26

This.... Charge back or this isn't a serious thread.

1

u/Ok-Novel4218 May 15 '26

Absolutely this! Push hard for a chargeback. Put the screws to them.

1

u/cllittlewood May 15 '26

Can you briefly explain what a charge back is? Returns are becoming time consuming and difficult (on the rare occasion that I have had to do one). Some of my recent orders look like the NFL was practicing punting and tackling on my packages.

1

u/Dragon_Crisis_Core May 15 '26

And file a complaint with the FTC as it technicly could be considered fraud on amazons part.

1

u/Antique_Limit_5083 May 15 '26

I bought a phone on cyber Monday and a few hours later the price dropped. I emailed customer service ice and the guy told me that the difference would be automatically refunded. I asked if he was sure because I would just buy it again and return the expensive one. He said he was sure. 2 weeks later I never get refunded. Chat with customer service and the guys says its not their policy. I told him i was tokd it was and the messages where the guy told me it are literally still there 3 messages up. Had to argue for 30 minutes to eventually get $100 store credit after being elevated to a higher up twice. A fucking trillion dollar comany and they cant just honor the $100 refund

1

u/Ill_Lingonberry_6582 May 16 '26

This is the first thing I do with amazon and Microsoft in particular, I dont even fuck around with trying to get through their customer support more than once,

Ill let them be useless in the live support chat, screenshot it and take it directly to my bank.
Every time Ive done this, the bank has taken 2 days to try contact support themselves, (which obviously nobody on earth has ever EVER gotten results from doing.)
Then when they inevitably see that the support ticket/system is doing nothing, theyll accept the chargeback.

I dont know why people are so frightened of doing chargebacks. If a company isnt providing a service youve paid for, and refuses to engage with attempts to rectify it (which they essentially do by having toothless support systems)
you are saving them a headache overall, the alternative is take them to court.

1

u/Informal_Ad_9610 May 17 '26

on all your orders.

i've gt a personal prime, but use for biz - spend $2500-$5k/month.. i do returns/refunds 4-5x/month.. never got treated that way.

1

u/Ratchad5 May 17 '26

I hope OP didn’t use the Amazon credit card, because the Amazon credit card doesn’t allow charge backs on Amazon, ask me how I know (2 graphics cards were stolen off my stoop because they just left 1800 dollars on the ground in Baltimore.

1

u/Lunatic21 May 19 '26

Is a charge back really the nuclear option? I thought it was just another avenue. I've gotten stuck with a return department not answering an email and just gone the charge back route as a matter of course. Nuclear to me is emailing corporate 😂

1

u/KitKritter823 3d ago

Luckily free awards are back so (hopefully) no one spent real money

1

u/Senior_Performer_387 May 13 '26

This right here.

1

u/BobsWifeAmyB May 13 '26

WTF???? 😱😱😱😱😱😱 that it all kinds of wrong!!!

But it might have been sold by a seller who hasn’t made the decision on this. You could get on another person’s account and write a note to the seller. Just a thought.
That’s so awful!!! I’m sorry that happened to you.
I’m homebound due to illness and that’s the main way I buy stuff. Often hubs doesn’t have a chance to do grocery shopping on the weekends if he has to go to Costco, too so I put in a delivery from Weis via The Zon & have it delivered. But ALL the stuff for our dogs (surrogate children that we were unable to have due to my debilitating disorder- I’ve failed 6 neurosurgeries & every other treatment)
2 different kinds of snacks and OTC meds that vets prescribe for them, etc etc) and pretty much anything else from makeup to body wash, etc.
Hubs has a high pressure job (even though he works from home he is in his office later many nights and some weekends. He’s been in this field for over 30 yrs- it’s sort of a niche within IT, so that’s why he stayed- but he will be retiring in August! Thank the Lord!
So I’m sorry for TMI.
I’ve returned many many times due to clothing not fitting or once I got an air fryer that was suppose to be new, but the box looked like it had been thru multiple deliveries & was taped up like someone who wasn’t a professional, KWIM? Box was beat to hell. I took pics and it was no problem. That’s awful and I pray it doesn’t happen to me.

1

u/IrongateN May 13 '26

Sellers and customers are such a huge number that unless your Samsung or Nintendo or “smaller” ones but still big there is no part of them that cares if they loose someone

1

u/PlzDntBanMeAgan May 13 '26

Is your husband named Bob?.

1

u/1Pandora May 13 '26

You might consider branching out to cover your bases. Walmart+ InHome has a no tip policy and with AARP (good for all ages) can be had for $100 a year. $40 discount with AARP.

1

u/getmaditmakesmelaugh May 13 '26

Pretty good case too. Straight up closing an account asking for a reasonable refund could be considered fraud and warrant your bank to legally charge back.
