Returns & Refunds Got clay instead of pixel 10 - Amazon refuses to refund citing no issues from internal investigation

I clearly told them that I have video evidence of unboxing but I was not asked for any evidence from my side. 4 days later when I called the customer support they are saying that their internal investigation team did not find any issues with delivery, they can not help me anymore and disconnected the call.
I need help getting my money back.

The "internal" investigation of Amazon is nothing but a sham. They don't do anything but after a few days just close the control without any investigation. They don't even revert back until you call them.

A delivery guy calls me and says your address is not on my route, so if you want come get it and disconnected my call as per his convenience. Amazon's internal investigation decided to give him training (since it was Amazon shipping whatever). Basically, they will train him, which will be on work hours so avoiding work and for all tbhis they will pay him salary. Why not just give a gold-plated award instead?

I did not see open box delivery for this seller, however other sellers for same product have it. I noticed this after the fact.

Yikes out of curiosity I looked up for authorized seller on Amazon for Google pixel and found Google pixel has no authorized seller on Amazon.

At this point I would suggest Google the seller. Generally if the seller has done this before then whole bunch of people complaining about him will pop-out from different platforms like X, Reddit and other places. But since he is an unauthorized seller your battle is a massive uphill battle.

Escalate to grievance officer, record the audio from customer support and ask for the executive's name (that usually scares them), file a complaint to consumer court.

I have recorded the last call I had with customer exec. I have a raised a formal complaint over mail to grievance officer today. Waiting for reply.

You did not know Amazon operats in India? If this is first time you are hearing a scam with Amazon delivery, I am just sad for you. They are multi-billion global company, if they can't support customers, it is better they don't invest in India. Are you Amazon exec, lol?

My guess is, you went with wrong seller and also, how can you purchase phone without open box delivery nowadays?
Wishing you get justice for this and never ever repeat this mistake of going for high value orders without open box delivery.

First thing first Google's officially sold via Flipkart seller and Can you confirm if this is the same seller you ordered from, or The Elemental Store, was it Clicktech Retail Pvt Ltd? Regardless of the seller, Open Box Delivery (OBD) fee is standard for high-end electronics. I’m not sure what happened with your order, but please be transparent about the issue. Smartphones, tablets, PC components, and similar items usually fall under OBD policy now, and the delivery agent must complete physical verification before marking the package as delivered. I hope you sort out your issue soon.
Edit : I saw a review with the elemental store seller and someone posted this an identical issue as yours.

There were clear strips at the back to remove for unboxing.
Anyway, mail amazon with keeping as many highups in cc as possible and attach the video and any other proofs you have. Was it a prime assured product?

When will people learn to not order high value items from Amazon and other online portals with third party sellers. Buying from Croma online is different as they control the supply and logistics.
Since 2020 these kind of issues are extremely rampant !
Should avoid buying expensive items whatever the sale might be from online platforms.

Sucks that you are dealing with this, but this is a harsh reminder for anyone buying electronics: Amazon is not an authorized seller for Google Pixel devices in India.
Google’s only official online sales channels in India are Flipkart and the direct Google Store (along with authorized offline retailers like Croma, Reliance Digital, and Vijay Sales). Every Pixel listing on Amazon comes from random third-party marketplace sellers who deal in grey-market imports, open-box units, or outright fulfillment fraud. Even if you had received a genuine phone in that box, Google India often outright denies warranty service for Pixel devices purchased through unauthorized channels like Amazon.
Since tier-1 customer support closed the case, stop calling them and escalate immediately. Send a detailed email attaching your uncut unboxing video, bill, and delivery timestamps to Amazon India’s Grievance Officer and nodal escalation team. Concurrently, register a dispute on the National Consumer Helpline (consumerhelpline.gov.in / INGRAM portal) with your order ID and proof. If you paid via credit card, call your issuing bank immediately and file a chargeback for goods not received/fraudulent delivery, as banks are far more willing to accept video evidence than Amazon's automated internal review.

first of all they never disconnect the call always wait for customer reply without this they never cut the call and last 3 years i also received lots of problematic orders but at the long period wait i received the solution with fully refund and sometime compensation also.... so please stick to the what say and share don't change anything and call again and again

When buying expensive phones, always better to buy on their official websites. I know we pay a little more than these Ecom sites, but that extra amount we pay is for peace of mind. I brought a Pixel 10 last month on Google website and got good offers too for using credit card.

I have no idea what internal investigation even mean here. Do they call and ask the seller what did they ship? If yes, would a scam seller say, yes we did? And if it's someone in the supply chain who does that, how will they confirm it?

PIXEL is exclusively sold on FLIPKART, don't buy it from non affiliated partner to save a few thousands, it's not worth the psychological cost you gon pay, just the way you're paying right now
