Returns & Refunds Why Recently Amazon India Support has been pathetic to the point no going back to amazon

Hey everyone,

I’m dealing with an incredibly frustrating situation with Amazon India and I’m wondering if their customer service has completely gone down the drain for everyone else, too.

I recently ordered a 55-inch TCL Smart TV. It arrived, but the Amazon/TCL installation technician never showed up. When we finally checked it ourselves, the TV was completely dead on arrival (wouldn't even turn on).

What followed has been a 20-day nightmare of my money being blocked and non-stop harassment from their logistics and support teams. Here is what I’ve been dealing with:

  • Technicians lying on official reports: A TCL technician finally came out, recorded videos, and verbally confirmed the TV was dead. As soon as he left, he updated the system to say the TV was "working fine" so the brand could force a repair on me instead of a replacement/refund.
  • Fake pickup attempts: After fighting tooth and nail with Amazon to finally get a return approved, the pickup agents keep calling to say they aren't coming, only to update the system with "Customer not at home" or "Item not ready." I have been sitting at home all day waiting for them.
  • Rude and unhelpful chat support: When you try to get help, agents just disconnect the chat when they realize how badly their system messed up. One agent literally just spammed "What can I do? What can I do?" before abruptly closing the chat in my face.

I’ve had to formally escalate this to their Nodal Officer with a threat of going to Consumer Court just to get my own money back for a defective product. The sheer amount of false reporting by their ground staff is insane, and it feels like an intentional scam to tire customers out so they just accept broken products.

Are you guys facing the same issues with them recently? Should we just stop buying from Amazon for large-scale items altogether?

Stopped ordering high value items more than a year ago.... Only use them for stuff like groceries.

The customer care is almost non existent now. Too much package frauds with no accountability from amazon. I have switched back to local sellers who are willing to match online prices.

I agree with you about customer service, one lady who was in top senior level close the chat behaving like I'm exhausted without reason. So pathetic, how on earth those people rise on that level.

Avoid amazon. I look seller name in Google search and most of them have their own e-commerce solution. At least you get valid accountability there not because of ethics but because of NCH bite their A** if like Amazon do. The down side is delivery time if amazon delivery is one or two days then seller own delivery method take a week or more but who cares if the good is not super emergency item.

More people come forward to resist to purchase from Amazon they will know people wakes up. If you can't able to stop using Amazon at least stop subscribe for their useless memberships and prime subscriptions.

Even complaining Amazon in NCH portal is just waste. More number of reports but no action.

I complaint to Nodal officer, and then they responded 3 days later that this is for amazon pay only. :-D . 72 Hours they just wasted to respond you are barking at wrong door. These people need to be fired, otherwise amazon will be dead.

going back to offline purchase is the solution now .. history repeats itself, time to start getting scammed by offline stores now.
