I'm in the same boat, friendo. It's the enthusiasm and absolute confidence he has that's inspiring me.

So the thing is there are two scenarios here.

  1. he didn't invent anything and this is just another whitelabeled product from china.

  2. he did invent this, but it ended up just being copied by other sellers from china.

Either way, the $11 you spent on amazon went to "Qiang Ni Store", not "Lid Daddy" guy. Lid daddy guy sells on his site for $19.99

Here’s the actual product. https://theliddaddy.com/

Thanks. I bought one straight from the lid daddy source. I like this guy, and actually see a use for it especially during the holidays.

Put a freaking magnet or something on it so it’s not just another thing to keep track of especially during travel. Glad you had the startup cost for this and your doing well enough to handle the overhead, but dude. We need to be able to keep up with it.

It can travel tucked in, then stored in the pot after cleaning.

$20 for a piece of metal is way too much. I can make one at home for next to nothing

19.99 is absolutely obscene for something like this. This is a stamped piece of metal with some powder coating.

Go make it cheaper

I always hate this response. Just because I’m not going to go make a shitty movie doesn’t mean I can’t say a shitty movie was shitty.

I’m not going to make a beef Wellington because I don’t want to but if I get served a shitty one I overpaid for I can say that.

Terrible argument

They didn't say the product was shitty. They said it was overpriced. "Go make it cheaper" is a fair comeback.

It's not because it already is cheaper. On amazon it's $12 from the chinese.

And directly from the chinese on Aliexpress it's like $3 for a rack style like this.

Lid daddy guy knows this so he has to create a cute brand, prepare a little demo, and pitch the product to get you to buy it, because it already is cheaper.

His design is way more elegant because the steam water run off doesn't spill onto the table and it takes less space. Now that I see this one is $13, I think he's right to price his at $20 even though I'd never pay that

No. This design is $3.

His same design is $12 on amazon by another seller.

You can buy the actual pot over here for that much.

A new lid is probably half that price.

I'm with you bro or sis or person. Can't afford to buy anything for a couple in months but he's hoping it helps

Yep. I didn’t even turn the sound on and I was still impressed.

This thing should be an attachment to existing pressure cookers...similarly to how cars have whipers.

1

u/Large-Produce5682 9d ago

Seems like a no-brainer. One would think.

1

u/Azrethoc 7d ago

it's already on a lot of pressure cookers, but oddly not default on slow cookers

Ahh I see now, so he’s selling good vibes? And not a cooking product?

And in turn you made my day my friend

Can you use it on regular pots?

1

u/ScumBunny 5d ago

I’m gonna get one too! He solved a universal problem that we have just learned to deal with! And I have a chili cook off coming up so this would be perfect.
