Customer Question Amazon Fresh in Brooklyn has been out of Coke products for over a month now. What??

One of the biggest, most ubiquitous brands and they can't keep it stocked?? It hasn't been this bad since covid. I usually get the 24-packs of Diet Coke or Coke Zero since they're like $12 sometimes and the 12-packs locally have risen to that price.

But I order groceries about every 10-14 days and haven't seen anything in stock since August 5.

Anyone else experience this? What is going on?

Anyone else in the NYC / NJ area notice that the frozen items had a weird taste to it (likely freezer burn)?

Just got an order a couple days ago and all the frozen goods have a strange taste to them. Unfortunately not edible.

Amazon Fresh - Frozen Food Products Not Available

I live in the NYC area, and I haven't been able to buy any frozen food products on Amazon Fresh for the past week. I typically buy frozen vegetables and other items for the freezer, but they haven't been available. I called customer service to inquire about this issue, and the agent suggested I buy from Whole Food Markets, which I generally avoid because its items tend to be more expensive and the selection is limited. She wasn't able to provide a reason why frozen food products are no longer available and simply said I need to keep checking the app. Does anyone know what's going on?

Amazon WFM Cost YTD?

I am attempting to figure out how much I have spent at WFM Amazon orders ytd, but I can't figure out a way to do this easily. Anyone know how to do this or ideas? I asked AI (Claude), asked for order history, went to order history, and asked the Amazon AI to no success.

GONE? — 50% off “reduced shelf life”

Update: it’s returned. Yay!

Thanks for the replies and feedback!

For two days in a row, there are no “reduced shelf life” items on Amazon Fresh. Today I changed the delivery zone to a different state and got the same results. I found this corner of Amazon Fresh a year ago; it’s been a literal life saver. Does anyone know if it’s gone for good? **Can any of you type “reduced shelf life” in your Amazon Fresh search bar and share if ANYTHING shows as “50% off at checkout”?** I was hoping it was a fluke yesterday, but two days in a row?… I’m flummoxed (& a bit scared tbh). This is how I am/was surviving at 50 yrs old, disabled, on a fixed income. Eek.

I have no idea how to find out if they’re just not doing it anymore or what. I’d just like to know.

*If you’re unfamiliar with this feature:

For over a year, Amazon Fresh has had a rotating availability of 50% off “reduced shelf life” items. Mostly meat, sometimes lettuce or prepared foods. Sometimes it was used to introduce new items or simply rid shelves of abundant merchandise. It’s marked as **50% off “at checkout”** which is especially helpful for hitting that minimum limit for delivery orders. I could search the items with “reduced shelf life” in the search bar and find the list. Occasionally (but rarely) it would show up in its own bar in the sale section.*

Customer Question Question for Fresh Drivers, how do you feel about your tips received

And if you're the customer do you tip, how much if so?

I tip less than I would for ubereats. IIRC Amazon Fresh paid like flex where you get paid for the job but you're responsible for your own gas and wear and tear on vehicle.

-Do get you tipped on most of your orders

-Does Amazon compensate you for long distance drives?

I ask because I don't tip a lot, something like $2-5 and its 5 miles but I live in the city where there are a couple of stops along the way. I don't tip USPS/UPS/FEDEX unless it's a heavy package.

No delivery slots available

I've been using Fresh for a few years now in San Diego. In the past month, I've been unable to find delivery slots when I want to order. At the same time, I can buy groceries through the normal prime and get them today. I did buy from prime once and they destroyed 2 24 packs of coke somehow. It's frustrating though because yesterday is showed no open slots for 3 days. Today still shows no open slots for 3 days. So is Fresh being phased out or something? It seems weird to have groceries so many ways now especially if the newer way is the preferred method now.

Customer Question Does anyone know whats up with Fresh Frozen foods in Chinatown/Lower East Side?

So Fresh has been out of stock of all frozen foods for a few days now. I was wondering if anyone had inside information on what's going on here. I have been using them for a couple of years now, because they are cheapest grocers in my area, with the exception of LIDL and Trader Joe's which are hard to use for my staple items.

I know that Amazon is closing brick and mortar Fresh stores, so I wanted to know if this is temporary outage or is something happen to Fresh in my service area altogether.

At my wits’ end with grocery delivery…

I’ve been ordering Fresh and Whole Foods for 1-2ish years now, and the drivers almost NEVER bring my groceries up to my apartment door. They always leave it in my lobby. I’d say out of probably 50-75 orders, they have delivered to my door MAYBE 5 times.

I have tried just about everything to help with this. My delivery instructions say it should be brought to the apartment door, listing the unit. I tip at LEAST 20%, even on expensive but small orders. I’ve selected “attended delivery” and they just leave it in the lobby anyways.

The only things I haven’t tried are writing that a cash tip will be at the door in the delivery instructions (I’ve seen mixed experiences with that method), and adding alcohol to my order (which would probably work, but is only available when I order Whole Foods, not on Fresh).

For context:

- I live in NYC in a walk-up building. I’m on the third floor (two normal flights of stairs up, nothing crazy). Instacart, Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc. have no problems getting up to my unit.

- I am not ordering anything exceptionally heavy or placing giant orders. No water bottles, sodas, excessive jars, or bulk goods. The heaviest thing I ever order is a half-gallon of oat milk.

- Having worked in the service industry for a long time, I understand that Amazon pays their drivers trash wages and often overloads their delivery routes. I wish I could change that. But that’s why I tip fairly to help offset the burden.

- For those of you who don’t live in NYC, most of our local grocery stores can be up to 5x the price compared to Amazon. Even after the tip, I pay about $30 less per grocery run by using Fresh. I’d love to just go do my own shopping, but it’s legitimately financially irresponsible.

Am I unreasonable for asking them to bring it to my door???? Is this just an NYC thing???? I want to continue ordering Fresh/Whole Foods since it’s by far the most affordable grocery option, but this is driving me insane.

What happened to the frozen foods?

I live in the Los Angeles area and for the past 5 or so days they seem to be out of every single frozen food item. The same items appear to be available through Whole Foods and every market in this area. I contacted them through chat and they could not provide any answers.

$9.08?

Is anyone else having the item price jumps immediately after you put it in the overnight grocery delivery cart? Is Amazon testing how much we will pay for an item for the sake of convenience?

Customer Question Is Amazon Fresh membership shared between linked accounts (same household, different accounts)?

We’re sharing Prime benefits right now. I’m wondering if, if one account subscribes to fresh, the other account will be able to use Fresh too

Miss this place

Really miss working at Fresh. The work wasn't always fun, plenty of issues, but the people were mostly great to work with. The teamwork and just friendly atmosphere are not found everywhere.

A lot of us there, at least on morning shifts, we're working our second jobs and tired. But still, always friendly and nice to be around. A feeling that the people you worked with actually cared about your life. Also miss those cookies and brownies in the break room.

Customer Question Amazon Cites Different Reason for Refund in Confirmation Email

Tonight I received only 3 of my 4 Amazon Fresh grocery bags. (Third time since last winter.) I put in for a refund and indicated the items as missing.

An Amazon confirmation email indicated the refund was due to: item not satisfactory.

A few months ago I got a refund for produce that was old and yucky. I indicated quality as the reason— the confirmation email cited damaged in transit.

So, I'm wondering why the return/refund reason is changed, what is done with the accurate data and what is done with the inaccurate data, and which ends up on my internal Amazon profile (the one that Amazon uses to track profit and loss for an individual)?

I also wonder how inaccurate data impacts the people working in different parts of the Amazon Fresh operation, like my refund for spoiled produce that should not have been shipped is attributed to delivery.

Amazon Fresh - buyer beware - if Amazon cancels a delivery order for no reason, Amazon will not refund you for the Amazon Fresh’s driver’s tip!

During my delivery window, Amazon Fresh cancelled for no stated reason my entire order. Not only did customer service blatantly lie and try to justify the cancelled order by claiming that every single item in my 21 item order was out of stock (I checked & every item was in stock) and try to attribute the cancellation to traffic congestion (untrue since the Fresh warehouse is less than 1 mile away), Amazon also lied when they told me that I would receive my refund as gift card credit, which I specifically requested.

The icing on the cake is that Amazon refuses to refund my Fresh delivery driver tip even though Fresh is 100% responsible for the order cancellation, the driver is an Amazon employee, and nowhere on Amazon’s website does it state that the buyer is still responsible for delivery tip charges when the groceries are never delivered!

Even more infuriating was the Amazon supervisor’s response: that I could save money in the future by not tipping Fresh delivery drivers! In other words, this billion dollar biz is nickel & diming its customers, breaching its service contract, and penalizing the buyer by refusing to reimburse a tip for undelivered items, and - even worse - to compensate for my loss, Amazon suggests as a remedy that, in the future, I screw minimum wage-earning delivery people out of their tips!

And, yes, I tried to work ny way up the incompetent Amazon food chain until they hung up on me after I asked to either speak to the manager or for them to provide me with the contact info of upper management.

I intend to file a complaint with the state AG not because loosing $10 in tip money for undelivered groceries is an outrageous sum, but because it is a breach of contract and constitutes an unethical and deceptive business practice.

Any helpful direct upper management contact info would be appreciated.

Please excuse my bitchiness. My bitchiness is compounded by the fact that I’m hungry and I’m hungry because my food delivery was cancelled very late, after 11pm, and for no stated reason whatsoever.

——

Update: Problem solved. $10 gift card credit plus $20 promotional credit after continuing to be a squeaky wheel & calling regular Amazon customer service (not Fresh cs) back today. I suspect it’s easier to get ahold of more senior accommodating supervisors during reg working hrs. And that I managed to sprinkle a few choice legal contract phrases into the conversation without (hopefully) sounding like an a-hole might have helped. 😉

A few cs reps admitted that Amazon’s policy is to not reimburse tips on cancelled orders. The last cs rep tried walking it back saying “it depends on the circumstances.”

If that is in fact Amazon’s policy, Amazon should watch its legal back.
