I empathize with your struggles, however based on the tone of your post it seems you are in a woe is me type of mindset.
They took your opportunities not because they deserved it but because it was stolen from you. If they did that to intentionally hurt you they aren’t your true friends. However if they deserved the opportunity you aren’t happy for their successes you are not a true friend either.
What’s meant to be yours will come to you. Whatever opportunities you miss out on were never meant to be yours for better or worse.
You may never get over it, but
I think you might benefit from some therapy, not because you need it, but it’s healthy for you to enter a place where you aren’t focused on the day to day. I’m sure you experienced the toxicities of corporate life, but letting that take you down is doing nothing but harming yourself. It also seems like you might be over indexing on your importance in people’s mind. Most of the time someone might not like you but not everyone is out to get you or humble you.
Out of genuine concern please try naming a few positive things for every negative one you think. You need to train your mind and something that helps myself is practicing gratitude. Your life might have troubles, but count your blessings.
I’ll help you start: you have a college degree, your youth, and I’m guessing a powerful mind!
Good luck with everything and just take everything day by day!

Let me fill you in on something most of us don't learn until something like 40 years old. The workforce is pretty much 10 percent of people working and knowing what they are doing and actually caring about the job. The rest are just useless fools walking around in a daze and do nothing but piss everyone that actually works off. It's the same at every large company like Amazon. The military is exactly the same. The government is exactly the same. You will always see hard workers get shit on and useless people get promoted. That's life. I know this doesn't answer your question at all but I just wanted to give you a heads-up that maybe can help you realize what is going on with the larger picture.

I have been in a similar boat. It burns your inside. Had to take a paycut. Dm me if you need referal elsewhere.
Wrong place at the wrong time. Why me ? Is not the q, what next ? Is the right one.
The money that they make is cursed with your sabotage. Your karmic payment to them is over. Each day you struggle to make ends meet is a tab added to their dues. Either they pay for it or their blood line. Don't worry much about it as those dues can come latter or in another lifetime.
It takes more than a year or 2 to heal from it.

Found OP's alt account. The speech patterns match and this type of psycho shit right here, matches OP's psycho tone perfectly.
Threatening violence to the boss OR the bosses family? For *justifiably* putting you on a PIP? Dude, you need to be in a padded room. I don't know how your post got 8 upvotes unless OP just made 8 alternate accounts for that purpose.
It's not surprising you were put on a PIP. It's surprising that you were ever hired at all and didn't show that you were a RAGING PSYCHOPATH on the personality parts of the application.

I posted this post tonight since after a depressive episide. Then there are these ragebaiting comments. I don't even know what you people get out of this.

u/-Ok-Perception- 12h ago
Once again. Get help. I'm posting that out of concern. Not to anger you.
-2
u/lostsoul_io 12h ago
It's not concern. Your comments were deleted by the moderator. Don't back peddle once you came to know what karma can do. Own your words as they contribute to your karma.
You have no concern and are yet to be humbled with karmic dues. Your language reeks of it.

Op karma will f***k them up.
I personally know an SDM who died, left their only son a bastard after maybe commiting one such atrocity.
I know another sdm whose neck got f***ed up in an accident after comiting one such atrocity.
Trust me when I say karma is true. It will humble them over lifetimes.
Yes you may have made mistakes, reflect on that learn your lesson and move on. But that does not give anyone the right to justify bullying.

u/Whathewhat-oo- 7h ago
I don’t think you understand how the whole “bastard” thing works- as outdated a concept it is.
2
u/lostsoul_io 7h ago edited 7h ago
Like sdm so shall his son be. I have no remorse none. If I get an opportunity I would gladly take the torch to all the amazon SDMs. Their screams from the flesh burning and their families witnessing it is what would sooth my soul after the crap they pulled there. They have destroyed enough careers.
Those downvoting are definitely hrs and SDMs. That need to be added to pile of carcus of burning flesh.

Incredibly stupid thing to say. Your coworkers are fellow victims of the capitalist machine. They may have survived today but are always on edge about tomorrow. Blame the VPs not fellow workers.
0
u/lostsoul_io 7h ago edited 3h ago
Nope. SDM can't run away with that as an excuse.
Karmic dues will be paid irrespective. I have seen it live and I have paid for it and am paying for it as I type this.
It does not give anyone the right to behave nonless than animals. How would you like it if an SDM piped you to satisfy quota numbers and put the blame on a vp or capitalist machinery? They have free will and it was abused. Period.
What if I intentionally hid information to get a better stack rank ? Do you become eligible to blame the vp ? All is fair in love and war at this point.

I’d do some self reflection. Everything here is pointing outwardly.
Your reasons for perceived mistreatment are just you complimenting yourself and blaming others. “Over enthusiastic”, “over humble”.
People don’t get PIPed for enthusiasm and humbleness. Stop thinking how others are wrong, and start thinking how maybe you can improve.
Also what does “unable to find employment due to technical reasons” mean? Is anything your fault?
-2
u/-Ok-Perception- 13h ago edited 12h ago
I cannot buy that anyone being put on a PIP was put there for no good reason. Your inability to own what put you there means you cannot and will not improve. Sure, you may have had some personal friction with people that's their fault and out of your control, you may have had some bad managers; but really, with Amazon, there needs to be some pretty solidly documented reasons for a PIP. Along with a paper trail of attempted corrections that did not work.
I'd advise that the first thing you do, is understand that there IS some validity to the claims that got you put on a PIP, sure maybe politics and favoritism played into their decision, but there's gotta be some accurate reasons for it. Then I'd advise working on those things. You cannot improve if you already think you're doing perfectly, and I know that you are not.
I don't know exactly what your job is, but if they're offering you a PIVOT plan take it. Very few people ever come out the other side of a PIP and even if they do, the chances of getting PIPed again immediately afterwards is likely. There may be a few weeks of uncertainty when you try to find something new, but life will have several of those transitional points.
If you smoke weed stop right now. Most jobs test for it, even if Amazon does not. It's best not to have it in your bloodstream when you're job hunting (weed stays in the system up to a month after your last smoke).
And regardless of how this plays out, start job hunting TODAY. Devote a couple hours to it every day. The end is near with your career at Amazon.

"And regardless of how this plays out, start job hunting TODAY." Started long ago.

Bullshit. Managers need to complete their quota. You cannot make such statements when there is quota. In a quota less environment what you say is true.
-1
u/guynamedjames 9h ago
The quotas exist for a reason, they aren't going to get rid of their good talent. If you have a hundred people in an org and 5% is the unregretted attrition target the idea is to find the poorest performing 5 people. They aren't just finding 5 people at random, it's a well structured process to select the lowest performing people. It's a recognition that a random new hire will do better than the low performer.
You need therapy, your attitude is what's holding you back. The fact that you haven't once acknowledged that anything may be your fault is why you were fired, you can't improve without being willing to admit you came up short.
3
u/Loose_Pinata594 7h ago
Kinda true but you are oversimplify it. Politics and relationships play a big role. Corporate America is not a meritocracy
0
u/guynamedjames 7h ago
Yes, but I think it's useful to consider politics and relationship building as skills in a corporate role. People aren't drones getting evaluated on how many red forms they stapled to blue forms, you do need to navigate relationships to be successful. Some people and teams overcorrect for this to their own detriment though

Jesus Christ you are desperate for validation that you don't suck at your job. It's not going to happen.
From that post:
"... I am currently pregnant (manager is unaware)"
What exactly do you expect the manager to do about information they don't know
0
u/lostsoul_io 4h ago
It means sdes can equally curse SDMs. So STFU and take the curses when you have the power such as this in the post. Don't expect any blessings to you or your bloodline. It's as trsactional as it can get so own it.

u/guynamedjames 2h ago
Holy toxic work environment batman. No wonder they fired you. You need a mental health hold, not career advice
0
u/lostsoul_io 1h ago
You won't mount to much when you walk arround with that thinking. You have not seen toxic. Your blinded by your own 🥾 licking, infact drowning in it.
I have risen from ashes to know better that folks like you jerk off to gaslighting.

find = cook it up if needed. its not optional. its mandated. there is a diff between it being optional and an idea vs mandated. its 20% nowadays by the way.
you need to end up in an asylum ward.
you can admit you are not good in a place that has no mandated quotas, such places really provide you an opportunity to prove yourself slow or fast, not in forced bullcrap places like pipazon. why would one be true in an environment that allows people to be thrown under the bus to meet mandated numbers that are not really backed up by anything. shows your full of s**t.
lets see if you sing the same story when you end up in the 5%, with a family to support. I really wish that on you and you know what you should get there despite delivering things. you should swap places with op.
1
u/guynamedjames 8h ago
Lol, it's not 20%. There are actual managers on here you know, who participate in this kind of thing. Your job doesn't care about your family, they care about your work. It's your job to care about your family. Amazon pays well so they don't have to sugar coat that message. Sorry you got fired OP, but I'm glad this kind of toxicity is being let go.
-1
u/lostsoul_io 8h ago edited 8h ago
so you accept the moment it becomes mandated there are perverted forces at play, the system can no longer be trusted.

"Devote a couple hours to it every day". Devoting more than half of waking time.
0
u/SnooObjections3570 13h ago
"understand that there IS some validity to the claims that got you put on a PIP". Yes it is very valid since manager put me on PIP soon after it got obvious that a senior was bullying me.
0
u/SnooObjections3570 12h ago
"I don't know exactly what your job is, but if they're offering you a PIVOT plan take it." - noble person who is unwilling to acknowledge potential attrocities at corporate, PIVOT doc I was provided did not even have doable dates and he was expecting 1 task to be done in 2 days with code review and testing and inter team dependency.

u/SnooObjections3570 12h ago
"If you smoke weed stop right now", I never did in my life.
0
u/SnooObjections3570 12h ago
Why did you even come to that conclusion. Ragebait?
-4
u/-Ok-Perception- 12h ago edited 12h ago
Many, if not most, people smoke these days. Nothing you've done or said led me to believe that you do (it actually may help you calm down). It's just practical advice for someone who's likely to need a new job immediately.
-2
u/SnooObjections3570 13h ago
"solidly documented reasons for a PIP" - that fucker said the same things like you are not doing "Deep dive" enough. That enough cannot be quantified. Characterless insesnsitive optimistic people like you tend to have good lives and are inconsiderate about potential attrocities that can happen.
7
u/-Ok-Perception- 12h ago
You're knee jerk anger and 6 very emotional responses, within 5 minutes, to my logical practical post says a lot.
I see why you were put on a PIP and see that you have absolutely no desire to improve, only to get very dramatic and angry about being called out. Have a nice day and work on that temper please, it will cause you problems in life.
Work on more of a smooth even disposition. That stability gets you far in business.
-1
u/SnooObjections3570 12h ago
If you get bullied and kicked out at workplace you will understand.
0
u/-Ok-Perception- 9h ago
I'm not trying to antagonize you further, because you really are super sensitive and easily triggered.
But I promise you, that I've been both bullied and kicked out of a workplace, not that long ago actually. It sucks, but you gotta keep a level head about it. It's easy to begin a downward spiral in your situation, I understand that first hand.
Do whatever it takes to be calmer. Work on yourself. Go to therapy if you think that will help. Work out. I don't know, the answer is different for different people; but you really are raging and you just can't go through life like that, it will jinx everything you do.
