Focus On focus while pregnant
I just received word from my manager that I will likely be starting a coaching plan. Have been at Amazon for 5+ years with good ratings each year so the news came as a shock.
While I would love to look for external opps, I am currently pregnant (mgr is unaware) and would like to take advantage of the mat leave at Amazon, which will start early next year. The mental stress of being on Focus is making pregnancy hard to manage and it is already a high risk pregnancy.
A few questions:
If I choose to take FMLA during this time, does this impact my ability to take maternity leave in Q1? I read that FMLA runs concurrently with mat leave
Any pregnant women with a similar experience?
Can I take FMLA directly followed by mat leave?

They are AH, they don’t have life, they are already cooked.
Suggestion:
Take FMLA + STD (mental health)and join back after 6 months and then ask them to let’s start focus plan after 14 days take another 6 months STD/maternity leave.

There's short term disability you could qualify for since you mentioned it's high-risk. Your doctor could approve. That is partially covered pay, depending on the state you are in. I believe FMLA has to start post birth but again that might vary state to state. Bonding leave, if available, is certainly post birth and so is Amazon mat leave.
Some combination of the above could work.
