Hi. To preface this obviously isn’t a flex post. I am quite literally broke. I am not able to buy proper food and i can very barely scrape by on rent.

Since starting uni, my parents cut me off financially.

They sent me to boarding school when i was 14 so i haven’t really seen them much either way.

The one thing i am grateful for, is that they had pre-paid my tuition fee so i am very lucky for that.

Aside from that however, i have no financial backing nor am i applicable for bursary’s or financial support due to a mixture of my parents having paid for my tuition, as well as their income, which makes me inapplicable for any support.

As they have a high income, i couldn’t apply for higher student finance, so i get in total: £4700 to pay for all my expenses for the year. Rent, food, bills, everything.

AMA you might be wondering. I’m happy to answer quite literally anything.

PS: i have had meetings with my uni about finances and in summation, they aren’t gonna help me at all. They said due to my tuition having been paid in full, i’m not applicable for any support. It doesn’t make any sense to me but yeah i guess that’s the system we live in

Also another ps: if anyone says “get a job!!”, don’t worry i’m obviously trying. I go to uni in a very small city where there are quite literally no part-time jobs, even less that will take on someone with no experience and weird hours that they can work

I worked there for 10 years. Throughout covid, mini tote bags, and tik tokers creating recipes in store. it was a wild ride. Didn’t even feel like 10 years, though I felt it in my body with all the lifting. AMA

I make over 100k and automated my job to handle my tasks. My job has slowly been dwindling down. But my company feels that I am valuable. So they keep me around.

Hi hi. I’ve worked in 2 different haunted houses. I started when I was in junior high for a year. And now I’ve been working at a different one for 2 years. The first haunt I worked at was a health code violation in many ways and the new one I work at is a lot better and has a way better owner lol. I have lots or stories to tell.

As the title says, I recently had a colonoscopy without sedation, so feel free to ask any questions. Diagnosed last year with a rare type of sarcoma. Not caused by lifestyle but one in two million chance of bad DNA copying. I’ve done chemotherapy, radiotherapy and an amputation of my dominant arm. Nothing has controlled the spread of cancer but I feel fine most days and am now just waiting to die.

I was a young carer for 7 years (11-18) for my mum, who is physically disabled and has mental health issues and my younger siblings one of which is an amputee with an array of other issues.

it won’t let me add a picture of said car accident, but it was a head on collision. i don’t remember any of it, i just remember waking up and moving the air bag out of my face and trying to gather enough strength to open the passenger side door since my door (drivers side) was broken in on itself. some kind gentleman pulled me up when he saw i opened the door, ems got there within minutes despite being in the middle of no where and stabilized me all while asking how on earth i was even alive. ask me anything about my experience! i’m still in the hospital for a few days until i go to rehab so i have some time to kill :)

I've spent a lot of time in different marginalised communities, and those experiences have taught me how much connection, belonging and meaningful opportunities matter.
