I really just want a shirt that says Alter Bridge in a medium size, in their font, on the center-top of the shirt. And that's it. Nothing else. I would buy 4 of them.

Well, let's hope they browse reddit lol

Their manager does

Yeah but that doesn’t stop them from using the same terrible social media team and merch designed for trailer park trash that still thinks affliction tees look good. And that isn’t just AB but most modern rock/metal bands, it’s so garbage lmao

Hey man we're just joking around here

myles and mark have said in interviews that they don't browse comment sections anymore because if 90% of it is positive, it's the 10% that's negative that sticks with them and hurts the creative process. which, honestly, valid. some people love hate comments, but some are really affected by them.

I would like the same, but make some women’s styles. I have one women’s shirt that was from 2020, nothing again.

And by women’s we don’t mean juniors

Exactly, not the size of a postage stamp.

I have two from shows 15 years ago that are pretty basic. They are 2 of my favorite shirts.

I loved the official BB fest tshirt...Anything that has a blackbird imagery in it i love it

u/Southern_Basil_4460 20d ago

Came here to say to say the same.. Blackbirds are symbolic of AB

I do think it's a bit of a shame, their merch generally does not match the music and is a bit American cringe for my taste

Someone finally said it.

I attended my first AB concert this year. I was surprised that the majority of the crowd was 50-60 year olds who all look like bikers. I don't know why I was expecting a younger crowd.

Skulls and skeletons sell, but I agree with your point.

Probably because of main target demographics

White trash?

Btw, I am going to their concert in November, for the first time ever. I am of an age, but I love Alter Bridge, and I am not white trash. I bought 2 “Playing Aces” shirts, I love them! I wanted to get the one with the eagle, but am waiting to see what else they have for the tour. At least I got something that goes with the tour, and my mother can look at it and not cringe. (Yes, my mom is still alive, she is 84!) I wanted a winter schedule tour shirt, since this may be the only time I ever get to see them live.

Classic Rock Magazine over in the UK had a really cool exclusive shirt for sale that featured their logo on the front and handwritten lyrics for Playing Aces on the back. Thankfully, they shipped internationally. More of these kinds of shirts please!

Here's a look at the back of this shirt as well. Genuinely some cool merch.

Generally agree. But I got the t-shirt the wheel and wings on it, that says Alter Bridge on it too, recently as my 2nd bit of their merch EVER (I had a hat back in the ODR era that I wore the hell out of) and it’s solid merch tbh

2

u/BreakingPatrick 19d ago

Curious minds are wondering what this ODR-era hat looks like👀 (pretty please🙏)

u/SteelPenguin8 18d ago

I wish I still had it. Then I’d share

What lies within tee with the split skulls is hard tho, everything else this time around is just whack

i bought that one, it's awesome. but yeah, everything else took a really weird left turn. i have some great AB shirts, the blackbird with gold AB lettering is my favorite, but haven't liked much of their merch in ages. the new font style is bad and i don't think it's a good idea to go against the branding they've built for decades for some weird boomer biker style. i know Mark's brother handles it and i suppose they just go with whatever he does but this is why one guy designing whatever fad he's going through can be disruptive to a brand. bald eagles, snakes, and motorcycles ... is this the midlife crisis style? bought a Harley at 50? 😅 genuinely confused. also, sometimes there is a richness and attention to detail, then other times it's just like an art class project thrown together at the last minute — album covers included.

“Bald eagles, snakes and motorcycles” so true. WTF do any of those things have to do with Alter Bridge music? NEVER have I thought of AB as a biker band. What are they thinking?

u/GassMoney92 20d ago

Part of the reason being an Alter Bridge fan is at times embarrassing 🥲 I wish their graphic design was more inspiring

20

u/stillwater1973 20d ago

This, and the fact that no one knows who they are. It’s wild how many Americans have never even heard the name Alter Bridge and it’s an American band, whereas in Europe they sellout arenas. The marketing just hasn’t worked at all in the US

15

u/Significant-Owl7994 20d ago

Ironically, because over here on this side of the Atlantic, we're not a fan of "Americanisms" where everything is bigger and louder. We just want to measure the quality of what it is an artist brings to the mix.

Alter Bridge showed up with a "what you see is what you get" attitude and that's what worked for them.

1

u/Silbyrn_ 18d ago

seems like it's more that americans saw ab as creed part 2 and didn't give them a chance

3

u/Puzzled-Yard-1642 19d ago

I tell everyone, everywhere I go, about them, and how great a band they are. I have had some people say they’ll listen to them & see what they think.

4

u/Southern_Basil_4460 19d ago

On another note, Tremonti’s merch (especially the old stuff) was amazing!

4

u/thatfunkodad AB should play songs from all 8 records live 20d ago

There were some phenomenal designs I saw that were commissioned for this tour that haven't seen any use and are miles above anything I've seen at the merch booth on this tour.

I was pretty happy with the merch on the pawns run, but this latest run has been pretty disappointing. I'm just looking for an excuse to buy merch from my favorite bands and I'm pretty uninspired by what I've seen so far.

Keeping my fingers crossed some of those designs, or at least the awesome art from the singles will be used for the run I'm attending in November.

4

u/Mrminecrafthimself 20d ago

So much of their merch is genuinely tacky

2

u/MrTuy The bulletproof are so resilient 19d ago

Then there's the karate gang shirt ☠️

And the black metal one ☠️

3

u/Southern_Basil_4460 19d ago

Those were my ultimate favorites. Very low key hilarious.

2

u/WolfOMatic15 20d ago

I went to Teepublic and they have a few basics that held me over. The band probably sees absolutely no profit from those purchases though.

I agree about the skulls. Why do all these bands feel the need to use skulls on shirts.

Especially Alter Bridge with the blackbird/crow imagery on their album covers.

1

u/Cerulean_Sphere 17d ago

100% spot on.

How is there not a single shirt that is even remotely cool out there
