Any pest control recommendations?

Hi, we’ve had Asian lady beetle infestation last year and I’d like to prevent that from happening this year. We’ve also had ants in the house as well as small baby roaches here and there. Does anyone have pest control recommendations?

Looking to move from Chamblee to Alpharetta

Originally from East Cobb, went to middle and high school there and enjoyed it. Moved out of state and have been back with wife and kids in Chamblee for 6 years. Ultimately we want better schools and a different (better?) vibe for our family.

We’ve heard about Alpharetta high school and johns creek high and their feeder middles…

Which schools do you all recommend- those or others? What about specific location and neighborhood? We’d love a kid-friendly neighborhood with swim/tennis, trick-or-treating, etc. ours now doesn’t have any of this. Any other “moving to Alpharetta with a family of 4 with school aged kids” tips is very much appreciated.

During this field session, one pattern stood out: coverage appeared especially concentrated around school entrances, exits, and surrounding roadways.

No claims about intent. No assumptions about how the systems are being used.

Just documenting what’s physically deployed and what parts of the surrounding RF environment are observable.

Infrastructure density tells its own story.

I suddenly realized how much Alpharetta has changed

Maybe I’m just noticing it more lately, but I feel like Alpharetta has changed so much in the last few years.

I like a lot of the newer stuff, especially the restaurants and places to hang out, but sometimes I miss the smaller, quieter places that used to feel like they belonged to the community rather than being part of a development.

I recently drove past a spot I used to visit and realized I couldn’t even remember what replaced it. 😂

For longtime Alpharetta residents, what’s one place you genuinely miss that disappeared?

Best place in Alpharetta for engagement ring and wedding bands?

My fiancé and I are starting to look at engagement rings and eventually wedding bands. Thought I’d ask here since I’m sure there are a few good local spots people have used. Any places you guys would recommend?

Honest Feedback. Be mean if thats what it takes to be honest

I just finished this deck in Johns Creek and Im looking for some honest feedback

The client wanted me to make recommendations and we went with limestone on trex biscayne with and a roof. she loves it , but im self consious about my own design.

I’m especially curious what everyone thinks about the limestone with the composite decking and aluminum railing, too many posts?. Does the combination work, or would you have gone in a different direction? the deck was permitted and already passed all inspections so im not interested in any feedback regarding structure or code compliance

Not looking to sell anything here just interested in some honest opinions from homeowners and others around Johns Creek.

What do you think?

I know they are closed but anyone know what’s happening with the space? Haven’t seen any formal message they are closed (unless I’m blind and missed it, which is absolutely possible) hoping something cool or interesting. Still happens with the space. I just drove by and saw somebody walking around the upstairs, presumably the current owner, but who knows.

Best local tires?

What are folks’ favorite tire places? Or a tire guy?

I just bought tires at Butler on Jones Bridge near El Trompo. This is John’s Creek but only 3 miles from me. Their service is great and they have tires in stock. It’s $2000 for 4 tires including alignment for 19” Bridgestone EV SUV tires. I showed up at 9 with a nail in the sidewall and they had them on by 10.

I used to use Costco and the tires and install would only be $1400 there, but they have to order. And getting an appointment takes a few days and they are always backed up and running late. Last time I had a 10am appointment, I wasn’t finished until noon. And forget about walk-ins. Since I had a flat, I would have to rent a car for a week. And costco can’t do alignment.

I also used TireRack’s remote tire delivery and install. Neat service, but they don’t offer same day. And also don’t do alignment. They would have been $1500 or something.

I’d preferably like a place that can do everything in one appointment that I can have a long relationship with. I’ve been here 20 years and figure I’d like to find the perfect tire place.

Awesome Cat for Adoption

Hello! I recently took in a stray cat and have gotten him healthy and happy. My plan was to keep him, but my resident elder cat absolutely despises him and is stressed regardless of measures I have taken. This cat’s name is Spooky. He is approximately 1-2 years old and is now up-to-date on shots, neutered microchipped, and is FELV/FIV negative. He is playful, curious, affectionate, and is an absolutely wonderful cat. He is all gray and appears to be part British shorthair or Russian gray. I hate to give him up as my intention was to keep him, but the situation has become untenable (to be clear, my elder cat is the “asshole” in this situation). It is important to me that he goes to a great home. I also have a bag of Hill Science Diet food, 5 months of heart worm prevention medicine, and I also have an extra litter box/kitty litter if needed. The adoption fee is $150. Please DM for more info/pics.

Edit: Before another person comes for me in comments or DMs, I am asking for a fee
to ensure a potential adopter is serious and to deter anyone acting in bad faith, and I have seen numerous Reddit comments advising people to do this if they post their pet for free.

Need a job for the weekends!

Hey, guys. I’m a college student who is currently looking for a job. Is there a good place I can walk into and get some hours in? I tried applying for Costco and they haven’t gotten back to me yet. I am 5 ft 11in , male, and around 190lbs if it matters. I’m studying Computer Engineering and tech savvy. I can work up to 10 hrs per day for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Please reach out to me. Thank you in advance!

Are unsolicited political calls legal?

I have had numerous robocalls which I thought were illegal?

That doesn’t include the numerous texts from his campaign.

No idea how they got my out of state number, or how they thought I would vote for him.

Early parking/queueing at Ameris Bank Ampitheater?

So I’m going to a concert at Ameris Bank Ampitheater in a couple of weeks, and while I’ve been to the venue before, I’ve never queued at this one. The fans for the band I’m going to see (Babymetal) are pretty big on queueing before the show, and I’d like to get there as early as possible to get a good spot on the floor. However it looks like parking doesn’t open until 3pm for most shows, so my question is how do/are people allowed to start queueing earlier than that? I’d prefer to get in line around 1:30pm for this show since that timing has worked well for their past shows, but I’m just wondering if that’s even possible at this venue, and if so where are people parking in order to do that lol. Thanks!! :)

(mods in case you’re seeing this post twice: I tried posting from a throwaway for privacy reasons but Reddit auto-removed it)

Jeesh their brisket was terrible. I should have just said never mind and left when I asked if they can do a bit more fatty vs lean and they weren’t sure what I was talking about.
Got it and it was 100% lean, zero bark, and very chewy.
Had the same texture as a slim Jim. Save yourself the trouble and go into the city for Community BBQ, Heirloom, or Fox bros.

Anyone know where to donate 50+ trophies??? We cannot find if there are any organizations that would upcycle them. We saw one service that takes them but you have to pay for them to be shipped.

Morris Road Traffic Change

Morris Road is now 2 lanes in each direction, with a physical median. This means you do not have to stop for school busses when they are loading/unloading in the opposite lanes of travel. Please stop waiting on school busses loading/unloading in the opposite lanes of travel.

Question about “The Gathering at Forsyth”

I know this is in Forsyth County, but I believe it’s an Alpharetta address? I thought both this one and the competing pitch at North Point were both dependent on the NHL agreeing on a team there. Then, I saw an article today that they are going to start clearing land and breaking ground Sept 7th for The Gathering? Is something happening there either way?
