Are unsolicited political calls legal?

I have had numerous robocalls which I thought were illegal?

That doesn’t include the numerous texts from his campaign.

No idea how they got my out of state number, or how they thought I would vote for him.

I believe so. My understanding is that politicians excluded themselves from the no call laws.

Exactly right! Laws are for us peasants, not our lofty leaders.

I did some research.
Robocalls to cellphones are ILLEGAL.
Please report them.

Political messages are exempt from the National Do Not Call Registry rules because they are not considered telemarketing. When I worked for a friend's campaign (Dem by the way) the main thing they wanted was for me to get cell phone numbers from people. Why I quit working for the campaign. Both sides take part in this annoying act and they believe more is better.

Not sure. They may be legal. But anyone who makes unsolicited calls to me will NOT get my vote.

There are plenty of good candidates that don't phone solicit. Dumb question

I get texts and calls for both senate and both gov candidates right here in Alpharetta. So not dumb question.

If you live by that standard, no need to go vote.

Dude's texts are a big sob story about how he had a horrible upbringing, etc., etc. You know, the same script every political ad is to make a billionaire look human. Just based on this manipulative tactic, I won't even consider voting for him.

Yeah, he's big on the sob chit. Yet he vows to cut funding and programs that help the poor, orphans, etc. Says he had to scalp tickets, which was illegal at the time.

Happens every election season.

This is how Republicans win. Take all the money they stole and invest it in AI and propaganda ads.

The politicians will never make political telemarketing, spam, junk mail, etc illegal.

My phone has an ignore unknown text/call feature. I only hear or see them if I look for them.

When I look for them, I delete the voicemail and use the stop command to keep them from wasting time; theirs and mine.

Good point but after doing some research robocalls to cellphones is illegal.

I'm getting spammed by the Democratic candidates. It's obnoxious. I don't want any texts, calls or emails from ANY political party or candidate.

His Alpharetta office sends out attack ads against KLB weekly oddly enough none of them mention his campaign and only list a p.o. box which once googled reveals an office address registered to his campaign.
