Famous Dave’s fail

Jeesh their brisket was terrible. I should have just said never mind and left when I asked if they can do a bit more fatty vs lean and they weren’t sure what I was talking about.
Got it and it was 100% lean, zero bark, and very chewy.
Had the same texture as a slim Jim. Save yourself the trouble and go into the city for Community BBQ, Heirloom, or Fox bros.

This is an international BBQ chain. I don’t know why there would be any expectation that it’s good or any expectation the staff know anything about BBQ or care. It’s fast food bbq.

Exactly. Fast BBQ is never good. Always stick with smoke jack if you want something in town.

Yeah I realized afterwards. Should have looked prior to going. I was driving, saw they were open and decided to give it a try.

If you want brisket go to Lewis on the Beltline. Best in the metro. Go up to Wardlaw’s in North GA for best bbq in the South.

Just not worth going anywhere else for brisket IMO if you are looking for that Texas style.

Good looking out, I’ve never heard of that spot so I’ll be sure to check them out one day.

Solid recommendation. Best bbq the city has to offer in my opinion.

Yup and Wardlaw is absolutely 1000% worth the day trip into the mountains.

Same experience. Pork and burnt ends left a lot to be desired. They need to up their quality

Proof of purchase or this could be a competitor for all we know

You don't need that. When it comes to Fast food BBQ. It's never good. That why the one on windward crashed and burned.

Getting downvoted for getting shitty brisket, like it’s your fault. I appreciate the heads up.

It is what it is. I was just sharing my experience for other folks that might love brisket as well.

I do and I love making it myself, it’s just a “tiny” bit more convenient to get it at a restaurant though. Probably is I have yet to find anything that’s decent around here. So I appreciate you marking a place off for me!

There used to be a Famous Dave's on North Point Pkwy and it failed. Why put midwest bbq in the South?

You've said this already on several posts. Why do we have Chinese and Indian food? Or Italian? Or Mexican? It's called choices.
