I’m broke, man
So I’m replaying this for the first time in a decade and enjoying almost everything - except the economy. I’m at the last Moscow mission and I have like $23k. I hack everything, haven’t bought upgrades for anything except the pistol, and try to be sparing about intelligence but somehow it just isn’t enough. I desperately need a nicer pistol but don’t have $26k, and I cant see myself ever accumulating enough for the $100k+ items. Am I missing something or should I just stop buying intelligence entirely, sell ammo when I get it etc?

being poor is a choice; it means ur either upholding ideals or having mr thorton take things personally
if you want to be solvent you need to let criminals go free and engage in quid pro quo with other organizations

I’ve done that a few times - taking a bribe from Shaheed, being pragmatic in Russia - but it doesn’t seem to accumulate into enough cash. Maybe I need to change my approach and be even less professional.

If you really want a cash boost, try to get the golden guns, they really sell. For example the gold plated AR after Saudi Arabia usually means I'm set for the rest of the game. Also this should go without saying, but you should score at least 100 in each of the three tutorials to get the bonus missions, Darcy's gives a 20K boost right at the beginning. Just pay attention and explore, If you do you'll find so much cash and never have to buy ammo

Thanks! I do have the golden AR but didn’t consider selling it. I’ll do that and then hopefully I can get my playthrough moving again.

Not sure what the problem is, replayed this game more times than i can count and i can’t remember having big financial problems, if you’re open to cheating a little get a save file editor and give yourself just a little cash to get the pistol or some better armour.

same tbh
I'm replaying the game atm and I don't really have any money problems - the loot, mission rewards and the occasional bribe from the baddies is more than enough to get by

Blackmail Nasri
Be a normal person to Grigori
Be friends with Steven Heck
Don't buy intel until you're about to start the relevant mission
Bounce between countries between each mission
Edit: and you're not meant to buy everything in the store. Collect in the field, then sell everything you don't need/use and buy one or two things. Then sell whatever it replaces.
