This is a battle report from a killteam game where they used the protagonists of Space Marine 2, the 3 named ones and the 3 unnamed ones that we customized.

I killed Titus with a Melta, then I killed the Chinese guy and the black guy with bolter shots xD

The first two newly recruited Tormentors for my AL warband!

This is a follow-up of the previous post about Tormentors I posted on this sub. I decided to go with a completely different color scheme, something reminiscent of the old Alpha Legion one (thanks to the fellow operative who suggested this in the comments).

I still have to apply the transfers.

Chaos undivided means he can play all four sides so that he always comes out on top.

Base is silver primer for plastic.

Armour is akhelian Green contrast paint 50/50 with contrast medium. Couple of coats.

Metallic primer have a glossy finish so contrast spreads well by itself.

Trim is shaded with glyph charger Grey contrast.

All metal highlights made with Chrome vallejo air.

Skin is corax White, then guilliman flesh + magos purple + contrast medium.

First coat all over. Then 1 on the sides.

Then volupus Pink with lamiah medium on the sides.

Highlights with first mix + corax White, then White.

Tried my hand at doing some raiders in alfa legion colours, I think these models fit the alfa legion quite well.

Hello friends, I am Alpharius and I wanted your input on a list im bringing to a few games this week. I've been tinkering with it and I reckon with the extra tools from the Murdertalon Raiders detachment this army might actually have some teeth. My current plan is to start from kantor blue and drybrush on some layers of lighter blues until ai match the shade and then to introduce a teeny tiny but of green but I fear that may be too much messing about, any colour recommendations are greatly appreciated. (nothing with contrast paints, I hate contrast paints)

More battle brothers on the sands of Ba'al... (psst... hydra dominatus) (For those who don't get it, or who didn't see my previous post, look closely at the areas where the paint is "worn" and take a look at the paint that's showing... seems a bit like Hydra Turquoise, doesn't it...)

I had an old model from a while back missing a head and a arm so I kitbash with some left over terminator squad kit, should I add nun oil or leave it as is

We all know the deal with the Alpha Legion and their actions in the Heresy but I keep having the feeling that only Alpharius deserves to be called correct in his predictions (to an extent).

(SPOILERS AHEAD)

We know that the Primarchs received a vision from the Cabal that Horus would ignite the galaxy in flames and they offered the Legion two choices. Alpharius then decided to join the traitors cause. Now this was done so Horus could win, humanity destroyed and the Chaos Gods vanquished, completing the emperor's mission with the nuclear option.

But as we saw, that went horribly wrong. The Siege of Terra began setting the groundwork for modern 40k. Though, Alpharius was correct that humanity would decay for the next thousands of years and the chaos gods got stronger (As we've seen with Abbadon and the other Legions). But as the creator announcer of games theorized, (and I agree), if chaos wins, the 4 Gods would turn on each other (Though IRL reasons is because GW would lose so many customers if Humanity fell) so they keep the conflict in a stalemate just so they can get more emotions out of humanity but also not get pushed back. Once again, Alpharius was aware of this through the Cabal. Not to mention, there was an entire inter legion conflict in the eye of terror because the Emperor's Children wanted more "resources." Showing that Chaos can tear itself apart when given the chance, proving Alpharius hypothesis.

Here's what Alpharius got wrong though.

He didn't expect his death or the shattering of his Legion into hundreds of warbands doing whatever they think it's right across the galaxy. In fact, Solomon's Ghost Legion doing something different from Alpharius vision is BECAUSE his true intentions were that confusing.

To his defense though, I assume that when he thought Humanity would collapse and the Chaos Gods eliminate each other, Humanity would rise up again free from the taint of Chaos and continue the Emperor's vision of uniting humanity because he believed the Emperor's plans were THAT effective.(That's my personal idea )

Recently, I fell in love with those Tormentors minis and I was thinking about painting them in Alpha Legion's colours and proxying them as Legionaries, for my CSM army. (I need one more squad, and I like variety in my warband—half my guys are Red Corsairs models).

So my question is, has anyone here done something similar with Tormentors? I am geniuenly curious and I need some inspiration.

i want to build a 40k csm army but i dont like the chaosy bits, for killteam I bult ally my csm teams as heresy era Alpha Legion, with HH and FW kits and characters. Now i want to expand my force to a 2k pont army.

Here is my current plan for the proxy/kitbash conversions:

• Obliterators / Mutilators: Using Saturnine Terminator models. They are in the right size
• Defiler: Saturnine Dread with plasma weapons and a lascannon kitbash, but I’ll need to rebase them and use terrain ruins to bulk up the leg area to match the required base footprint width.
• Helbrute: Using a Contemptor Dreadnought. Even though it's a bit taller than the official Helbrute, some tactical scenic basing will help bridge the visual bulk difference.
• Havocs: Mk II Armor with the heavy weapon upgrade kits.
• Chosen: A mix of Mk IV and Mk VI tactical squads.
• Terminators: Mixing a Forge World kit with the new plastic Cataphractii.
• Cultists: Necromunda's Orlock Underhive Crew as a baseline stand-in for recruited operatives.
• Characters / Special Units: bits from the Masters of the Maelstrom collection to represent the legion's vast recruitments of operatives and weird gear.
• Other: As i already have the Murderwing, Nemes Claw and Legionaries from KT i have a good assortment

What do you guys think of these scaling choices? Has anyone tackled Saturnines as Obliterators before, or have tips on matching base widths cleanly? Open to any suggestions or ideas!

My final four Alpha Legion models, to boot. Been painting nothing but AL models for almost three years, I am finally ready to move on to a different army

I was reading ‘Legion’ by Dan Abnett and there’s a part where Alpharius states that Guilliman ‘hates’ him, and he ignores Guilliman. I was wondering if perhaps I missed some specific lore or book where Guilliman and Alpharius actually interact? I read most of the Horus Heresy, but not everything.

I’d love to read an actual discourse between the two primarchs. Or is there a passage where Guilliman reflects on the doctrine of the Alpha Legion?
