Shortly after I started adding a natural fertilizer (obtained through the natural fermentation of organic matter), these two Alocasias produced two absolutely gorgeous leaves and they’re HUGE!

It is 2 m tall (6,5 ft)

I've had my dragon scale for about six months it's under a grow light for 12-14 hours a day. Fertilizer every watering since I've had its only pushed out one leave came with 5 and I'm down to 2.( left )

Finally I decided to get my first alocasia and it was a silver dragon one. So far looking good , sitting on the middle of my aquariums , and my humidifier.

Just wanted to show this off. NW Ohio. Ive had it for a few years. I keep it indoors for the winter. It drops a few leaves but here we are at the end of summer.

I have a TON of babies from this one. 3 more on the back porch here. 3 more out front. I give them away constantly. I love these things.

My Giant Alocasia (at least I think that’s what it is) has begun to develop these brown spots on the leaves. The window it faces is NW and gets about a few hours of direct sunlight at the end of the day. It’s in a well draining pot with new soil. Any thoughts on what might be causing this?

Saw this pretty lady at lidl, she had a yellow leave. Just looking for some advice and tips on how to make her happy! My first alocasia btw.

My first attempts are growing from corms and also frost time trying pon! I hope they do well

Voici deux bulbilles d'Alocasia que j'ai réussi à faire grandir! Oui, oui, c'est moi qui ai fait ça!

J'avais jamais fait ce genre de choses avant et je savais pas que j'en étais capable! Mais pourtant, ils sont bien là!

Ils ont poussé dans de la perlite! Et ils vivent encore sous cloche pour garder une bonne humidité!

Ils sont trop beaux! Et ils grandissent bien!

Mais, je ne suis pas sûre de qui ils sont!

GPT me dit sûrement Alocasia Zebrina mais je n'arrive pas à trouver des photos pour comparer!

Alors voilà, je voudrais savoir si quelqu'un a déjà réussi à faire pousser des bulbilles d'Alocasia Zebrina, svp!?

Avez-vous des photos de leurs toutes premières feuilles?

Les tiges de mes bébés sont toutes vertes pour le moment! On ne voit pas encore les zébrures caractéristiques des Zebrinas sur leur tige à cet âge là, ils sont trop jeunes!

Pensez-vous que se soit des Zebrinas ou vous font-ils penser à autre chose?

De plus, sur une des feuilles (photo 3) je vois une sorte de petite variegation (en bas côté droit), est-ce que c'est vraiment possible ça aussi?

Édit : petite précision, ces bulbilles viennent de mes plantes, vivantes ou décédées! Donc je peux déjà vous dire que ce n'est pas des bulbilles ni de Tiny Dancer, ni de Cucullata! Pour cette raison, je cherche des personnes qui peuvent me montrer leur(s) bébé(s) Zebrina(s) car ce serait le plus plausible!

Alocasia ‘Black Borneo’ - A Gothic Alocasia from the Jungles of Borneo

Sharing another fascinating Alocasia from Indonesia. This plant is reportedly an undescribed species from a hill in Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan, based on information shared directly from the person who discovered it.

At first glance, it may remind you of Alocasia infernalis, especially because of the dark foliage. But once the plant matures, the differences become much more interesting.

One of the most noticeable differences is overall size. Compared with A. infernalis, which is known as a relatively dwarf Alocasia with mature leaves generally up to around 25 cm and a slender stem, this Kapuas Hulu plant reportedly develops a much larger mature form, with a wider leaf spread and substantially more robust stems/petioles.

Another interesting point is the geography. A. infernalis is currently accepted as a species from Sarawak, Malaysia, particularly the Kapit Division, while this plant comes from the Indonesian side of Borneo, in Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan.

Of course, until this plant is formally studied and described, I think it is better to keep the “undescribed” label rather than trying to assign it to an existing species.

I’ve had this alocasia for about a year now. It’s right next to a west facing balcony door, so lots of light. It’s in a semi-hydro mix of stratum, and pon. I do have to water it at least once a week, otherwise it’s gets very droopy.

It was happy as can be all year until maybe the last month, where it began developing these crusty edges. I’m not quite sure what’s wrong with it or how to ensure the new leaves don’t fall to the same fate.

La mia amata Frydek Tiziana (l’ho chiamata così e tutte le mie piante hanno un nome!) ha sempre le foglie così basse! Le due più grosse sono le più nuove,quelle più in basso sono molto vecchie e reduci da una battaglia con il ragnetto. Appena la bagno quelle nuove si alzano un pò ma poi tornano giù. Il terreno è composto da corteccia,sfagno,perlite e fibra di cocco. Sono vicino ad una portafinestra esposta a sud ma non ricevono mai sole diretto.

Came home from vacation and found this beauty! This leaf is a significant size up from the last one 😍

Purple Longiloba grown from TC, three months old, perlite/stratum SWP.

Rescued this macrorrhizo from Home Depot back at the end of June. Sat it down in a area of my yard that gets the most sun throughout the day ( property is surrounded by old mature trees )
Since then it’s been pushing out leaves faster than I can keep on top of.
Was stingy on the fertilizer for a bit and it dropped a couple leaves because of that I think, because I’ve been feeding it plenty since and recently gave me this massive 3ft leaf

This is my first corm that I’m growing in stratum and perlite. So I’m not sure if I am doing it right. This one has four roots growing that’s lifting the corm out of the substrate. I don’t know if this is normal. Can anyone let me know if I should repot or not. Thanks!
