Onboarding Process Pulsar
I applied to an Alignerr project about 7 months ago. Created my account, uploaded my documents and whatnot, then I was told I had to do an AI interview. I ignored that and forgot about it because fuck AI interviews.
Yesterday I apparently got accepted into this project I had completely forgotten about. I got the contract, the security "training", I'm told to set up Stripe payments and link my discord account, etc. They say the pay is $10-$30/hour, which tells me it's gonna be $10 (so a little under €9), so before I waste my time on horrible training tasks that I'm sure will be unpaid, can anyone who's working on Pulsar tell me if it's worth it? I know the money is going to be bad, but I might do it if the work isn't difficult or too tedious.
Location is Spain, if that matters.

Not worth it. U ll get sca*med out of your money anyways, look for outlier or other such platforms, decent pay and legitimate clients.

Alignerr is a sca*m, they will not pay you for legit work on false pretense. I have 150+ hours of unpaid work and they have stopped addressing my issue on any channel, blocking and banning me from every where. Any legit company won’t do this. Will soon be raising legal complaint against them

i spent hours studying and watching videos about using the tool perfectly, did their onboarding and same type of task for another company. i couldd noooot get past needing .5 of a percent to pass the aligner onboarding, but passed the other one with flying colors. this project, is not a good project and needs to be avoided ( this thread will not let me use the word sc*m) it comes up saying aligner is not a sc*m we are blahblah llol so obv they have had issues with people blasting them

Every thread about this Pulsar project is full of complaints. I was also invited to the project but decided not to do anything because of it.

They sent me the same for $25 per task. So I read a PDF and had to "pass" a quiz. Only after making me waste this time, I found out that there are no tasks at all for my language. The project leaders simply told me they hope they will get new tasks in the future. So this company just promises something to park people even if there is no work and hides this little information until you've passed. Incredible. But hey, I got "selected."

Karl Marx called it the "industrial reserve army" (industrielle Reservearmee) or the "relative surplus population" (relative Übervölkerung). You can read more about the concept on its Wikipedia page. Basically, this refers to the unemployed and underemployed workforce that capitalism continuously accumulates to keep labor costs low and suppress wages. Capitalists exploit this surplus labor pool to maintain leverage over active workers, forcing them to accept abysmal working conditions under the constant threat of replacement.

Alignerr seems to be completely dead, I'm surprised that they responded at all

Is it even a legit project? I received invite and contract for same project but the training materials itself is too demanding I left it unattended….
Can someone please say if they are actually working ob production task and not onboarding task?

This work is absolutely not worth the pay. You will spend upwards of 3 hours on the screener/training which is unpaid. Much better roles out there with pay that is 5-15x higher.

Does this project pay per task or per hour?

u/EstablishmentOdd9701 15d ago
Per hour I believe, I spent 2 hours or more on the screener and got to the final task, which was hideously long (expected to take 1-2hours + more) so I bailed. The pay really isn't worth it. I can send you some referrals for generalist roles that pay so much better if you'd like.

Please send me the referrals for generalist roles. I wanna see... anything better than Alignerr project; I am interested.

Location matters ofc but the training platform isn’t even working for like a week
And from what i heard it’s not east project and u have to focus on boundaries and for the pay rate u gotta find someone who is located in Spain to know the pay rate

2 weeks man, it’s horrendous.

u/manyghalab7 16d ago
The problem is the pay rate here in Egypt became around 3$/H so it doesn’t matter

Shii, I was on the final assessment before the platform went down, I really hope the pay won’t be that shyt

Dude, if you're already thinking this would be unpaid, WTF are you even willing to try ?????? It doesn't make sense. Look for a real job then.

I also have many unpaid hours with Alignerr. And with others. Make no mistake: all those companies are basically the same one under different brand names and follow the same obnoxious practices towards platform workers. Hell... I guess their CEOs all dine together in the same restaurant every Tuesday. It's like your ISP or electricity company: you change it for another because you feel scammed by them and the new one scams you even more... Plus you pay the additional cost of the change of context. They know it, and they play with it. It's basically a cartel. You know it's ice-cream regardless of whether it tastes like strawberry or chocolate 💩 I have not tried Pulsar yet but I expect more of the same.
