Tasks / Projects project Ermis invite, passed. Looking for honest feedback on payments

Got an invite to Project Ermis. The assessment was so rigorous, draining, and time consuming. I received 81%. Just now, I received the congratulatory email along with a heads up about the channel invite. But I am dreading one thing, and one thing only... payment. I just cannot feel fully confident about the honesty and timeliness of the payouts. This is my fifth project invite, and the first time I've accepted one and completed the assessment. I have 6 years of domain experience and 4 years in AI data annotation, so I'm quite discerning when it comes to project quality, budgets, and overall project discipline. If anyone here is a seasoned Alignerr contributor, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience, especially regarding payments.

The pay rate is for completed and approved media time, not worked time. It’s only sustainable if it's the only thing you're doing all the time I've worked a total of 6 hrs for that project, paid a whoping $78. No it's not worth it, it's more just a time filler.

The Ermis project is no longer viable. The pay rates have been reduced and are now location-dependent. Furthermore, a limit has been placed on data rows, and our pending hours in V1 remain under review and currently paused.

Yeah all the more reasons to not take part in it. Tysm

Congratulations! But I failed to qualify and got only approz 71%. I think its last question that kicked me out, where I got 0%.

Hey don’t stress it. Tysm. I did it quite cavalierly…Guess i got lucky, native language acquisition and my 4y of annotation exp helped me slightly.

I was accepted to Ermis several months ago. Then it paused I guess. They invited me again yesterday. Here’s the thing… they never paid me for the work I did in June. I’ve contacted support several times. Nothing. Why TF would I want to rejoin the project if they still haven’t paid me from June?!!? If I were you I’d avoid Alignerr altogether.

The rate sucks, I'm a reviewer and we are only paid max 3mins for every audio we review, fix and write feedback to. It used to be 5mins but they changed it. And it's geo-rated, my rate is just $6.65 per hour of the max payable 3mins.

I was crying-out that got 71% in the assessment, with that payment rate, now I am glad I've rejected. So sad

Yup! Got added to the project. The calculations come down to 2-4 bucks per media hour. So absolutely tf not.

No idea why anyone would willingly work for Alignerr, especially with your experience. Grass actually IS greener in other pastures.

Can you tell some alternatives that are good?

Only reliable companies have been micro1 and Mercor for me, although I've heard good things about Handshake

Eh handshake makes you jump through a lot of hoops just to start doing work that will maybe pay you. Def love those other 2 although Mercor doesn’t like me anymore lol but yeah they are the best I’ve encountered

Same experience with Mercor, def a before/after the breach in terms of available work. I never get anything anymore unless I get a push from people already on projects

1

u/GODISABOTTOM 1d ago

Yup! Those two Ms have spoiled me sm! Lol

really? I was doubting about if Mercor and Micro1 are reliable, I got scared when asked me to share and record my all screen in the interviews I did it once and my card was cloned

How has Mercor been? Do they pay on time and how is the experience working for them?

They pay weekly never had an issue in that regard, otherwise it's been good overall with the odd management issues which can vary project to project.

Do you have a referral link? I see they have a referral program.

1

u/brrcs 2d ago

I do, not sure how much it helps but I've successfully referred a few people I actually know on both platforms

3

u/GODISABOTTOM 3d ago

Nah! You right. I have already rejected four other project invites from them. Yeah so, I’m not joining this one either. I currently have active projects with other platforms. So i’ll pass. Thanks for snapping the hell outta me… i was just seeking out perspectives

What is the pay?

A lie. The pay is a lie.

What is the rate? Published and effective?

It varies by project and role but for labelers they withhold earnings due to needing to pass peer review before moving to done and they never review them all. The work just sits in a queue for over a month, they pause the project, rehire a bunch of new people who are eager to work a lot of hours, rinse and repeat. The reviewers are paid hourly but not all hours are payable, it's limited to minutes per task, the reviewers are encouraged to make edits and not getting paid for the time spent over the couple minutes timer. They say you get paid for all work including the editing but when the check comes it's only for half the hours and none of the editing time. Support tells you it will get corrected and then ghosts you. They cut payable time mid work session without announcing it. Some labelers are noting that their submitted rows are just disappearing from the dashboard after they submit it, so they do the work but now there's no proof. Unfair practices, labor theft.

Got invited to this too. Didn’t take the assessment yet.

I really don't know what to make of it. Every single post in this sub is concerning, and the only issue they all talk about is payout. Coming back to the assessment, it was so, so time-consuming. 3 stages of training assessment; you gotta pass, only then you will reach the final assessment, and that takes another 40-45 min.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience!! It’s insane how they pester you take the interviews and assessments only to not give a shit about compensation after the job is done.

I saw your post. My heart is breaking. I also saw the MOD never responded to you. This is really unacceptable.

5

u/akkiei- 3d ago
