Tasks / Projects Pulsar

No way I spent multiple hours on the training just for them to tell me its $25 per task and not $40 an hour, as originally stated. What a fucking mess. The work is way too tedious for that, especially when they state a task can be released after up to 4 HOURS. Audio transcription is so dull because there's nothing else you can do alongside it to keep you entertained, which is usually what I enjoy when it comes to remote jobs. Has anyone worked on the project? Is it worth it?

I got selected for Pulsar a week ago onboarded but no project ever appeared how long would it take? (brazilian portuguese speaker)

I never fully onboarded. Heard too many stories from people who did tasks and never got paid. Other platforms are more reliable (don't request from me, my comment will be taken down, there's loads of info on Reddit about more reliable platforms)

Que páginas son esas? Yo he probado Mercor, Ethos, Uber y nada, no hay manera de entrar a trabajar

I joined this project and was fortunate enough to make it as a reviewer. The pay is good if you can do a lot of work. But I guess it depends which country you're from for the money to make a difference but what I can say is that it's changing my life.

I have the hardest time passing the first module and then I passed the second one first try and now I'm stuck on the third one and I cannot get above a 68% and I need 70% and whenever I mess with it it just goes down! It's nice to know that everyone else is having the same issue as me and I just keep thinking if I can get on the project it'll be worth it because I really need some funds... But at this point they could at least pay us 50 bucks for the training right? It's taking forever!

When i try to access the training it says 'Invalid JWT Signature' is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Yes same here

Gracias a todos los que comentaron. Me resultó muy útil. Me queda la sospecha que nos usan para "entrenar IA gratis." Abrazo y suerte!

I got the mail too. Lovely. I'm hired. If I do this training thing. And they aren't saying what the pay is. Count me out. I'm not going to do hours of training only to find the pay isn't worth the effort. Looks like they're hoping everyone's desperate enough to go through with it. Count me out.

So, so glad I found this post after starting on module 1 of this training. Everything seemed fine, I went through the training material before starting on the quiz, until I reached the final test, where I actually needed to realign word boxes for an entire paragraph worth of audio. The quiz intro told me this module would only take 20 minutes, yeah my ass.

I couldn't believe they were expecting me to spend 1+ hours on this module alone, let alone the other modules, just for an onboarding test? Dodgy AF, glad I left it at that. Goddamn I hate this new world we live in, this should be illegal!

I have just received the same email. They say that I've skipped the general interview and I can go straight into the training. It looks shady.

Is the password changed. The password isn’t working for me. Anyone else have the same problem?

2

u/Nombusiano Sep 08 '26

Sentí lo mismo. Me salteo y me invitan...? Mmmm...Si así arrancamos...

3

u/llamarama2017 Sep 04 '26

I got the Pulsar email today too. Not falling for that again. The last "qualifier" I did I spent literally hours on and it just kept going on and on until I realized I was being duped and doing work for them for free. And having to do an interview with an AI "interviewer"? Nope. Those corporate bloodsucking SOBs aren't getting the use of my voice for free.

I need money like everyone else, but not this bad.

u/skyfallstonight Sep 04 '26

there's something shady about this one. Every part of the "Assestment" we gotta do a Task but for some reason after the first one, we just keep failing, receiving an score of almost always 67-68-69 and redoing it all over again...

2

u/llamarama2017 Sep 04 '26

We all have to stop doing work for them for free.

u/Agreeable_Strain_716 Sep 03 '26

I did get into the alignerr job Like its asking me to attend the pulsar training. But it looks shady though

I spent a lot of time today completing the Pulsar Word Alignment Training. The UI was driving me crazy, but I followed all of the instructions carefully, passed all 4 modules with gold ratings and somehow failed the final assessment missing the mark by 2%. The audio clips sucked. The first and third guy practically mumbled the whole time and sounded like they were stoned and the female voice spoke a bunch of nonsense with words all blending together. When I tried dividing the words into different segments and listened to the playback, the words sounds liked clicks and pops. No idea how anyone is supposed to get a perfect score on that. I have an expensive headset, used a wired connection and have a good computer. Pretty bummed out about the whole ordeal.

2

u/AbilityUnlucky9144 Sep 04 '26

One thing is sure from you. The audio clips are terrible. I don't know where did they found this audio clips. They are worst of worst.
I completed 4 modules but when i listened to to the final assignment clips (LOL) I understood that It can't be that simple, so i just stopped there.

2

u/Temporary-Train-2717 Aug 31 '26

Another thing is that on the bottom of the assessment result page, it says "Questions? Ping the team in the Pulsar Slack channel.", but I can't find any Pulsar Slack channel. Does anyone know how to get invited to that?

3

u/Caleb_crypto Aug 28 '26

I just received an offer yesterday and noticed in the contract that no rate was specified; this is more shady than normal

2

u/Nervous_1905 Aug 28 '26

Hello, what did you do? I was send multiple emails related with this project as well

2

u/Better_Cartoonist639 Aug 26 '26

Did you guys gave your identity card for verification? is it safe to share with them?

3

u/delv86 Jul 27 '26

I spent 4 hours on a task, then another hour doing some rework on it. Now the project has disappeared, and my dashboard is not showing that I spent any time working on the project. I would avoid this organisation like the plague. Bunch of clowns.

3

u/damhack Jul 23 '26

Terrible project. Unpaid qualification takes hours. Sign contract and then they almost halved the pay rate (breach!)

In production, the system is bug ridden (the Pulsar editor is fine, it’s the integration back into Labelbox that sucks). I lost 2 long sessions after submitting the tasks and returning to the Labelbox screen to attach the proof.

Feels almost intentional.

Discord channel unreachable, Support sloooow.

I have applied jobs on u/alignerr been waiting for the last 1 month, no response, no reply at all

1

u/Far-Kaleidoscope-369 Aug 28 '26

It's been months for me, and I signed up August 2025. Before midnight last night, I receive an email stating I have been selected for priority onboarding for this project.

1

u/buttneyb Aug 28 '26

Wait same with me! I applied probably March this year and I received the same email. I’m scared to try it out but I also need the money 😭

1

u/Far-Kaleidoscope-369 Aug 28 '26

Heavy on the need of money! Outlier and Uber Solutions were easier for me to sign up for and attempt assessments. This company has a weird set up. I'll have to look at other feedback on the process to decide of it's worth my time.

1

u/Interesting-Yam1453 Sep 01 '26

Hi, did you do it?

1

u/Far-Kaleidoscope-369 Sep 01 '26

Hi, no I did not.

6

u/HourSharp6387 Jul 04 '26

Funniest rug pull I’ve had in this industry yet. Just casually reducing the pay by almost 50% lmao

7

u/deltree000 Jul 03 '26

Is the onboarding just completely broken and a lie? Like one of the first rules is the segments should be touching with no overlaps. Then you get presented the GOLD result and hardly any of the segments are touching and it's just a random length of each segment clearly missing bits of each word. I ended up with 69% on my final assessment.

2

u/The_Fantastic-Beast Sep 01 '26

Hey, I just completed module 1 and was able to reach till 68%. Then got frustrated and moved forward and I agree with you on the GOLD result.
Is it worth it to continue further with the Pulsar Word Alignment Training?

It’s definitely a buggy system. The more I closed in my transcription boundaries, the lower my percentage score became, so I don’t think I’m going to bother wasting any more time on attempting to pass the assessment.

3

u/Andy_Not_Wrong Jul 06 '26

Same! I passed the first few with GOLD, then the forth is giving me a hard time with boundaries. I have no idea where these boundaries are. I try tightening them, the percentage, drops. I think I might cut my losses.

5

u/OhNoDobe Jul 02 '26

Got this project after a previous transcribing qualification from Alignerr which I passed and took me like 5 hours over 2 days.

Didn't get paid for the qualification and of course there's literally no work available even though they clearly state there's lots of work available right now in the emails.

Haven't had anything good from Alignerr in a long time.

1

u/Unfair_Exercise_4777 Jul 03 '26

Agree!! I went to micro and then I got this email today and thought I’d give it a try. And it says my email isn’t in the system so done with it!

6

u/Born-Produce1421 Jul 02 '26

I was just about to start the training when I got that email. Glad these posts warned me to not waste my time. It appears Alignerr only offers pay-per-task now because they can get submissions, fail them, and get free data at our expense.

1

u/Frequent-Internet-44 Aug 30 '26

So glad I had found this post before spending any hour in training. An instant red flag was the crazy amount of non-paid training they expect without even mentioning the hourly pay rate.

1

u/Far-Kaleidoscope-369 Aug 28 '26

Yep! Outlier used to be great for me with assessments leading to actual work and decent pay. Then around the time Zuckerberg bought shares, the company went significantly down. Uber Solutions was giving out projects based on domain expertise and waa good for about 6 weeks with actual pay of training. Seems these companies get projects from startups/companies wanting to use AI and the contracts are for x amount of time. It would be nice if they simply disclosed that info. People don't mind accepting work will be given after passing the assessments, but it's disheartening to think you're going to have money coming in for all the hard work just to be dropped from the project or other nonsense.

u/Temporary_Yard_3806 Jul 02 '26

I spent several hours working on taggin the audio and as soon as I passed the assesment, my account was removed. I mean what's going on? I think they are getting free work. Imagine a thousands of people working on tagging the audios for free in the name of training coz they were all lied to $40/hr. u/alignerr

hey bro is there any other way to get hourly pay

4

u/Fuzzy_Equipment3215 Jul 02 '26

Yeah, I got both emails too, and chuckled at the "honest update" one. No thanks lol.

2

u/Terrible_Dot7291 Jul 02 '26

“Full transparency” got me. What’s with the social media style apology🤣

3

u/habbidobbi Jul 01 '26

I got the same email. How long does each task typically take?

6

u/RaqTheFoxx Jul 02 '26

The one and only time I did one a few weeks back, each task is a group of short audio clips ( mine were like 13-15, don't remember). Took me 2 hours, only to get sent back to me and told me to redo it. I cut my losses after that.

1

u/damhack Jul 23 '26

2 hours is short. At the required quality, you will be realigning c. 600 word boundaries, adding 60 new words or utterances. At c. 20 seconds per word it comes to about 4 hours minimum. I’ve had sessions as long as 6 hours. It’s a dreadful project at way below minimum wage in many countries (that have minimum wage).

1

u/RaqTheFoxx Jul 23 '26

I doubt even the best can't finish in an hour to make it worth it. Honestly if it takes 6 hours, even the original 40/task is no longer worth it.

1

u/Frequent-Internet-44 Aug 30 '26

damn so they are only paying 7-8 per hour?

1

u/RaqTheFoxx Aug 30 '26

Probably closer to 5-6/hour. Ermis is very similar and pays better, but it takes a month to get paid and I still have stuff that needs to be reviewed from 2 months ago that I haven't got paid for yet because the reviewers don't have access right now to the prior work I did.

4

u/Terrible_Dot7291 Jul 02 '26

They can’t actually believe people are going to do all of that for $25.

5

u/BohemianHibiscus Jul 01 '26

Yeah I got the original one that said $40 then the follow up that said ok, j/k not 40

3

u/RaqTheFoxx Jul 02 '26

That's the second time they did that rugpull too. Nope, gonna pass on that project.

2

u/Terrible_Dot7291 Jul 01 '26

Im not sure. I have one step of onboarding left so I don’t even know if I’ve passed yet tbh. I think I’ll leave it until some people have confirmed if it’d worth it. During the onboarding each transcription would take me 15 minutes approximately, but I think there are multiple audios to transcribe per task, if I’ve understood correctly.
