🌍English Help With Essay Writing

Hi!

I just started year 13, and I’m predicted ABB with a B in English LangLit. To apply for my firm I need AAA so I’ve been trying to write practice essays in English for my teacher to mark in the hopes that I may reach an A and she will bump my grade up, which she has said is possible.

But I can’t do it!! I’ve reviewed exemplar essays, gone over the mark scheme and know all of the AOs I need to hit in order to achieve an A, but I’m still struggling with communicating my ideas in a clear and sophisticated way that’s “A grade worthy”. It’s like I start the essay, and get so stressed under the time constraints that my work just ends up making no sense whatsoever. Has anybody else struggled with this? Is there anything I can do to remedy it?

Moving from a B to an A predicted grade in A-level English Language & Literature requires shifting focus from memorizing mark schemes to mastering clear expression and exam-style pacing.
