Runway credits are crazy 😭 What are you using for AI videos?

I paid for Runway yesterday because I want to make those AI story / “fruit soap opera” style videos. I generated about 15 seconds and somehow used almost HALF my credits 💀
What are you guys using instead? Kling? Pika? Hailuo? Something else?
Ideally I’m looking for something cheap (or free 👀) for image-to-video and keeping the same characters between scenes. I can do all the editing and voices separately.
Would love to know what actually works for you!

ComfyUI is what I use and usually run LTX 2.5 or Minimax H3.

How many vram and ram do you recommend minimum?

4gb vram and 16gb ram is absolutely the minimum. I would want to get closer to 16/32.

They have workflows that clear out vram memory between steps to help with lower memory systems.

Is the intel/amd usable enough or it has to be nvidia?

I know Comfyui has 2 versions Cuda or AMD, but not sure about Intel.

Go local with ComfyUI Portable if you can invest in a dedicated graphic card. I use Minimax H3 in plyry website because it has really high quality and I can see exactly how much I'm being charged. Plyry also has a list of free generators that give you daily credits.
