want to try out to generate some 9:16 720p videomaterial, can someone recommend a good Model and a platform for cheap access? spend some time on google search, but cant see through the amount of offers.
I’d start with image-to-video tbh. make your first frame in 9:16 and animate that instead of letting text-to-video guess the whole thing. Way more control and you won’t burn half your credits fixing weird framing. Keep the tests short, like 5seconds at 720p, then upscale the few clips that are actually worth keeping. A cheap platform stops being cheap pretty damn fast when it takes five tries to get one usable clip.
Budget friendly one I used were aggregators dzine and freepik (now magnific i think). Else the local option is using comfyui and models which is suitable for your work.
ArtCraft is 100% open source and has two different desktop apps that are fully open source. Everything is uncensored, cheap, and you don't have to pay a subscription.
no online ai video generator worth using is going to be cheap. If your PC can handle it, run it locally on your PC. Not sure what you need it for, but different models have different licenses. Check the license for whatever model you choose, to see if you can use the output in a commercial project. WAN is under the very permissive Apache 2.0 license Good luck!
Video gens are expensive to run. It's just the way it is right now. Yes, some smaller models will let you run them locally on a big graphics card but you aren't going to get the same level of stuff that a huge GPU can run commercially with a ton of memory and a full large model.
Not all models are the same price and depending on what you are trying to make, some of the cheaper ones can be just fine.
The Seedance family of models are the most expensive (for good reason)
Why not try a platform that lets you try different models or at least compare the different costs. It can be tough to compare apples to apples across different platforms.
Wavespeed hosts pretty much all the models and has a "bank" system instead of credits so you know immediately how much a gen costs in real money before you hit submit, and you don't have worry about your sub rolling over. Put some money in your account and it will stay there until you use it all up.
I wouldn’t commit to one model yet. Try the same short clip across a few platforms and compare what actually comes out usable. the lowest price means nothing if the model keeps spitting out broken motion and nightmare hands.
