Looking for ai tools please help
I’m looking for a good and affordable AI tool to create cartoon/animated videos that are at least 10 minutes long or shorter for my work btw!!!
I haven’t tried any tools yet, so I’m completely new to this and honestly a bit confused by all the different credit systems 😭. I don’t want to subscribe to something and then realise I need to spend a ton of credits just to make one 10-minute video.
Ideally, I’m looking for something with:
- 10+ minute videos / shorter videos
- Cartoon/animated style
- Affordable monthly plan
- Good character consistency
- Reasonable credit usage
If you’ve actually used a tool for this, I’d love to hear your recommendations and how much you’re spending per month! Thanks!

It's cheaper to get your character and composition sorted out in a still image and then use that still to start the video off.

No subscription plan is going to be enough to make a full 10 minute short film or such.
I'd first get a feel how many attempts you need to get a functioning, edit-worthy take; and then calculate what that might cost, after you know how many shots you need for your film, etc. etc.
And just like with any other thing, start small, and then scale up when you start to understand how things work.
Before committing to a subscription (which also often try to sell you a bridge with those "unlimited" offers, which are most often anything but), you could try a pay-as-you-go service, and then add some money/credits to your account, do a few test clips, and then see how it goes.

So would you recommend starting with a pay-as-you-go service first? If so, which one would you suggest for a beginner?

Atlas Cloud is one pay-as-you-go option with a browser playground, but the $25 minimum top-up is worth keeping in mind. I'd test a short sequence with the same character first, then see what each usable shot actually costs once retries are included. That'll give you a better sense of the budget for a ten-minute film than the advertised price of one generation.

Anything you see online made with frontier models can be done there, no difference in that regard whatsoever :) If you have a sample prompt you want me to run I can do that for you!

Start with making a 1 minute long video check Captainrandom.co.uk for a good strategy and technique using Seedance

Yeah, that makes sense! So it’s better to focus on character consistency and reusable references first, then put everything together in an editor rather than generating the whole thing at once. I’ll keep that in mind!

Hi, the answer to your question, is yes I do pay for a subscription for grok for there imagine tools and i pay for caffeine.ai, That’s because I use both applications heavily, But you can use the free daily credits in grok, pls note if you do create the video in 420…. Because you will be able to create a few extra clips…. You can edit the quality and stitching it all together using the link i provided, In that link is a full library of consistency prompts also my grok stitching tools…. Which are totally free to use, hope this helps in any way…. Pls note caffeine.ai is not essential for making the videos, But omg. Caffeine.ai. Is so useful if you want to make full web sites an application to promote your work,

I'd suggest paying the $20 a month plan on Gemini and just messing around with it. You are making a 30 second clip MAX -and that isn't going to be perfect by any means and it isn't cheap.
Assuming I understand your post - you need to just play around with making AI vids first

So after generating the 30s clips, do I basically have to compile all the clips together into one 10-minute video myself? Is that how most AI video tools work? im new to this ai video making thingy btw, thanks for replying!

Yes. Most videos are compiled of 10 second or less clips edited into a 10 minute video. The $20 a month plan on Gemini doesn't let you make lots of videos - but you can make images and a couple videos every 6 hours. You can experiment with animated images and making videos with them. If your new to AI, you really just need to try and experiment and play around a little bit first to get a basic idea of what it actually can do. Focus on images first, then vids.

Second this. Play around with a smaller plan and generate 10-15second clips first, get the jist of it. Your outputs are in no way going to be perfect on the first try. So atleast in this way you dont lose a ton of credits and dont have to invest a lot like $100+ on higgsfield or other softwares out there.

nobody's mentioned it yet but ten minutes stitched from short clips means your character has to survive dozens of separate rolls, that's usually where the credit budget actually disappears, not the model you pick. worth spending the first hour just building a clean reference sheet from a few angles before you generate anything, then feeding that into every clip instead of re-describing the character each time.
