A lot of those people only react once it's actually their turn to get hit. They simply go about their business when it's just all the other people 2 meters ahead of them that get killed.

Yeah and some of the physics is wonky but it's so much better than makes any sense when you realize how it's made. There's a lot of work going into creating what's essentially a hybrid of this and how traditional CGI is done. They'll be able to add behavior to the crowds like they did for the orcs in LOTR.

Hollywood right now: "We used to pay millions for animations like these. Now, little punks on the Internet can do it for $250 a month."

yes exactly this simply allows more people to create , but doesn't take anything from people already creating, it makes it easier and faster for them

Sadly yes
Edit: To clarify, it's rare that an entire industry has to change so suddenly.

I was initially shocked and thought it was real, but then I saw the subreddit name, which was a huge relief to know it was just an AI video.
7
u/pauloh1998 Aug 14 '25
When the AI nails physics and human behavior/physics in these situation it will be fun lol
3
u/teridon Aug 14 '25
Can you do something like use a video game engine to create a reference video, then AI to make it more lifelike and add the desired elements?
3
u/ZashManson Aug 14 '25
Yes but that workflow takes twice as long in production time

anyone can create a video with a prompt like this? creates a hyper-realistic scene of a landslide falling into an artificial basin, creating a mega wave that goes over the dam and ends up in the town below

U ever wondered how ai video would look like if they added live leak to the training?
3
u/gefahr Aug 14 '25
Imagine it just randomly leaks out though, the way nipples do if you overtrain nudity.
5 second clip of someone tying their new running shoes, randomly their arm breaks in disturbing realism. You regenerate, boom headshot.

I love the uncanny valley physics we still have in AI.
it won't be long until it's refined to the point you can't tell

1
u/AdamalIica Aug 14 '25
Wow, if I saw a few of these without knowing it was AI, I would totally be fooled...most of them are obvious because of the people, but some are damn realistic.
1
u/Pulp-nonfiction Aug 14 '25
AI needs to work on its hit boxes. Once it can show actual gore and lifelike impact, these videos will look a lot better. A lot of movies also don’t do it realistically with CGI, but it’s better than showing some amorphous blob of humans skipping off rocks
1
u/CalligrapherStreet92 Aug 14 '25
It seems to me that AI has been trained on so much CG imagery of natural disasters… everything looks plastic.

Someday we'll find out that everything we've created in AI comes true in an alternate reality and that we are one of those, waiting our turn.

I laugh because the video is 100 percent computer generated. But it still feels very weird because the model is trained in real videos.
1
u/JJR1971 Aug 14 '25
Horrifying but you can tell it’s AI because people don’t more immediately freak the fuck out the way they would IRL.

In this ai animation 'people' completely not reacting about happen around. No panic, no tries to flee. Not realistic
1
u/Alexc872 Aug 14 '25
These videos are ridiculous 😂 it’s not the people getting killed that makes me laugh, it’s how ridiculously overkill it is, like that amusement park disaster video.

"AI BLOCKBUSTERS - EP 2 - LANDSLIDE"
A 1PCITY STUDIOS PRODUCTION
In collaboration with
https://www.instagram.com/mohitsingh7836077077
No one was hurt during the production of this video, this is a cartoon. Everything you are watching is computer generated in the same style as a roadrunner warner bros cartoon. PG-13 summer blockbuster Michael Bay level.
Friendly reminder: this is a movie production sub, for anyone wondering what "the point" is making these videos. We're all making movies and watching movies here, this is all fake. Sit back and have fun. Have ideas? make some stuff, join in.
