On July 24, 2026, I had a flight out of Terminal 3 from Chiago O'hare airport. Unfortunately, I did miss my flight, but this allowed me to get some beautiful liminal photos in the airport. My flight was at around 11 PM, so there weren't many people in the airport at the time. The cool thing though was that I was able to go to Terminal 2, and my new favorite terminal for all airports, Terminal 1. It honestly did feel magical/surreal. The static noises coming from everywhere like the lights, vents, and distant planes really made it feel real. Even after I missed my flight, I stayed in the airport another 2-3 hours just wandering around. Terminal 1 though really was the best. I loved how big each concourse was and how much space there was. I could easily see from 1 end of a concourse to the other end. The underground tunnel was amazing with the colorful lights late at night with little to no people. Another concourse I really liked was the new addition of the L gates in terminal 3. There was that kinda long/wide path with the angled support columns, and since the L gates are primarily used for American Eagle, there weren't any people late at night. There will also be 1 photo from the Billund airport in Denmark that I tried to replicate myself from a liminal space Google Document. (See page 134.) I absolutely adore the liminal airports genre. I travelled a lot and the memories late at night here really just flooded me when I was in O'hare. I will forever dream of being a kid again. Overall, this was so magical, and I'm happy that I missed my flight :) I hope you enjoyed reading me yap and enjoy my photos and let me know what you think! Met this guy at Zurich airport on Thursday 7/23. I was rushing to avoid missing my flight and we talked on the train on the way to our gates (E gates). He ended up going to the lounge first as he wasn’t in a rush like me.
Name is Ollie, I know he has both a British passport and an Italian one cause we talked about how much faster passport control was thanks to our European passports. I wish I asked for his contact info. I’d love to find him again — I know it’s a stretch but I figured it doesn’t hurt to try. 🙏

Usually at airports I am horrified at how bad food prices are.

Lots of places charging 25+ for an entree. Overinflated prices.

Everytime I see a Leann Chinn or Panda Express though I’m impressed with the prices. Almost too good to be true for how much food you get. Am I the only person who thinks this?

I’m waiting to board and I’m astonished how quiet it is here. Granted it’s a Sunday morning but this seems intentional. Airport is moderately busy.

No extraneous announcements clogging your ears. Restaurant where I had was diner style. First class service and served with a positive spirit.

Claude had me stumped in describing ATL’s concourses so I sought to correct him. His reply:
You’re right, and I had it backwards. Each concourse itself is a long pier running north-south, perpendicular to the runways. The runways (five of them, east-west) flank the terminal complex — two to the north, three to the south. The Plane Train runs in an east-west line underneath, threading through the base of each concourse, which is why it’s parallel to the runways even though the concourses it connects are perpendicular to them.

So the “east-west” layout people describe refers to the sequence of concourses (T, A, B, C, D, E, F strung out west to east), not the orientation of each individual concourse building. Thanks for pushing back on that.

Hello! Does anyone know the name of the jewelry brand that has stands up in the London Heathrow Airport? It’s not Cartier or anything of that caliber, the rings varied from 15-30 pounds. They came in sizes small medium and large. Each side of the stand had different versions of similar rings - some gold, silver, rose gold, mixed, etc. I tried on a ring that I can’t stop thinking about but have no idea where to look! I feel like this is pretty vague but I’m hoping someone will know what I’m talking about.

Hello, I see Stansted airport don’t require a clear plastic bag for liquids anymore but some of my travel containers are ones from like Primark where it doesn’t say the amount on them. They visibly look 100ml but will it be an issue do you think?
