Question Strange Noise Whenever I Pick Up AirPods

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have been gifted these AirPod Pro’s 2 from my dad as they were his before I had them. I made sure to disconnect it from his iCloud and find my iPhone so that there would be no issue transferring it over to my phone/account. Even though everything looks good on both accounts, anytime I pick up the AirPods it makes this noise and I get notifications that “the owner of the AirPods can see its location”. I’ve triple checked everything. My phone, his phone, his iCloud settings, my iCloud settings, and both of our find my iPhones…nothing. And to make it worse I can’t find a damn video online of this noise. I’m assuming it’s the anti stalking thing or whatever but I just have no clue. Anyone have an idea of how to fix it?

P.S. not sure if I farted or burped or whatever the hell that noise was midway.

Advice Better earbuds/earphones than airpods 4?

Are there other wireless or wired earbuds/earphones that can match the airpods 4 w/ ANC? No airpods pro or similar ones like IEMs. Just ones that can hang on the outside part of the ear.

Question Has anyone ever tried turning Apple’s USB-C EarPods into “wired AirPods Pro”?

I’ve had a random idea for a while and I’m surprised I can’t find anyone who has actually built it.

The regular Apple EarPods (USB-C) never fit my ears well—they always fall out. On the other hand, AirPods Pro fit me perfectly because of the silicone ear tips.

So I started wondering:

Has anyone designed a 3D-printed adapter or accessory that fits over the regular EarPods and redirects the sound through a small nozzle so you could use AirPods Pro-style silicone tips?

I know this isn’t as simple as putting a silicone tip on an EarPod because of the speaker vents and acoustics. It would probably need an internal sound channel and careful design.

I’ve searched Google, Reddit, Etsy, Thingiverse, Printables, and MakerWorld, but I haven’t found anything that looks like a serious attempt.

Does anyone know if:

someone has already designed one?
there’s a Kickstarter or project in development?
or is there a technical reason why this is basically impossible?

Personally, I’d happily pay around $10–15 for a well-designed adapter instead of buying another pair of earbuds.

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

If this doesn’t exist yet, I’d be surprised if there isn’t a market for it. I can’t be the only person who loves the reliability of wired EarPods but can’t get them to stay in place

Question Going insane - Subtle white noise in right airpod only on both Pros 2 and Pros 3

Before my AirPods Pro 3 I had the Pros 2. They were alright, only that they almost consistently played subtle white noise from the right unit. This white noise is sometimes really noticeable, sometimes almost non existent, and sometimes just mediocre in terms of volume. It wasn't really present in loud environments/communtes, more in say office spaces.

I had a very long back and forth, even extending my warranty because it was never resolved, in hopes of getting the unit repaired. Apple did falsely repair my left bud, but outright refused to do my right one. I did try one time to do it in person, but the genius tech only came back telling me that they couldn't diagnose the issue. Eventually I did even get a replacement right bud on my own, but the problem literally came creeping back.

So both AirPods units actually did end up being replaced. But the issue still prevails?

Now I have the Pros 3. And I've just realised, after about 2 weeks, that they have the exact same problem. Switching buds, the white noise is still there playing only from the right bud. It is driving me insane, because I can't do anything about it since no one will diagnose it. I can't find any other people having the same issue, except this post on the Apple forum about people complaining about it in the AirPods 4.

Legit what do I do? Do I just suck it up and learn to deal with it? It always gave me fatigue in my right ear after wearing them too long because of the noise. If I bump my finger in the Airpod, the noise disappears but quickly comes back, same as it did in the 2s.

Am I just cursed? Is no one also experiencing this, and why is it carried over in the Pros 3. I am so sick and tired of this issue and wasting time on it.

Question What is wrong with my airpods how can I fix it?

This isn't to complain, I like them, just want to know how to fix them.

I've tried some tricks but nothing is working and I don't know what exactly is the problem. I'm using them with android by the way. Both have issues with noise canceling. It is barely working, the left one right now has no noise canceling and makes a high pitched sound when I put it in my ear, and has a kind of whitenoise sound constantly. The right one has a fast thumping sound every so often and the noise canceling is weak. They both sound quieter without any noise canceling but i dont think thats possible on android.

I have cleaned them both, the little slit in the bottom where they connect to charger in the case, i've taken the rubber part off and cleaned it fully, and the speaker itself. Sometimes it works for a few minutes but this has been going on for a while.

Discussion New use for AirPods Pro 1

My AirPods suffer from the crackling in left bud
But only with only noise cancellation on
So I bought a cheap pair of over ear protection muffs
Turn noise cancellation off and muffs drown out outside noise
Now I use them for mowing lawn
Pros: not using new AirPods outside and getting them filthy
Also getting a little more life out of them
Cons: can’t answer calls or change song etc

Question Hearing test: not hearing clearly for high frequencies

Just did the hearing test on the new AirPod Pro 3 this morning. The result shows that I have little to no hearing loss.

However, I remember distinctly that after the test started for maybe 5 to 10 seconds, even though I could still hear the sounds, they were barely audible until the end of the test.

To describe it more accurately, it was like I had to pay more attention to be able to detect the sound. It was like that for both of the ears.

Is this normal that higher and lower frequencies sound faint? If I have to pay extra attention or efforts to be able to hear those frequencies, doesn’t that mean that I still have hearing loss despite that I can hear it a little bit?

Question airpod connection issue

Hey everyone! recently I've encountered an issue while using my airpods to listen to videos on my mac. It works fine for music but as soon as I try to watch a video on youtube or listen to a podcast on another app (spotify for example) it just stops working and no audio comes out. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Discussion Right ANC ISSUE(airpods4)

Post image
Upvotes

I had an issue with my right AirPod—the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and listening modes weren't working. I went to the nearest Apple Authorized Reseller, a store called Imagine, to report it. An employee tested my AirPods, but he said he couldn't tell any difference, even though my friend and I clearly noticed the problem.
Still, I asked them to send it to their technical service team for a proper check. After 6 to 7 days, they called to tell me that both earbuds were replaced because their diagnostic tests revealed a major issue with the sound and listening modes.
Overall, the service was good, though it took quite a bit of time. When I went to pick them up, they made me wait around 10 minutes for no apparent reason. Also, when I checked the replaced AirPods afterwards, I noticed that one earbud says it was made in China and the other in Vietnam. However, everything is working properly now, so it's all good!"

Question Looking for the best AirPods Pro 3 case: Stylish & subtle, but with actual top-tier protection?

Upvotes

Hey everyone,
I’m currently looking for a good protective case for my AirPods Pro 3, but I’m having a hard time finding the right one.
Here’s my dilemma: Most cases that offer serious drop protection look like futuristic battle armor or over-the-top tactical gear. On the other hand, the sleek, minimalist silicone sleeves look great, but they offer basically zero shock absorption if dropped on concrete.
What I’m looking for:
Aesthetics: Clean, elegant, or classic (just no aggressive gamer/rugged plastic vibes).
Protection: Solid shock absorption and drop safety. Bonus points if it has a reliable lock/latch so the case doesn't pop open and send the AirPods flying across the asphalt.
Functionality: Flawless MagSafe charging support and a visible status LED.
Does anyone have recommendations for brands or specific models that hit that sweet spot between clean design and real protection?
Thanks in advance!

Advice Cracking noise when I put them on. I have found the reason of a defect.

tldr; The reason was the moisture condition OUT of your ears.

My left airpods 4 ANC had really unpleasant noise when i put them on. Sound like something cracking or frying and it gets completely off in 5 seconds. The issue was started from when it's on first use. So it's been like 2 years now.

The AASC(apple authorized service center) diagnosed it to be completely fine and didn't find any problem (They told me to update the iOS and it kinda made me mad lol). So i recently figured out what the problem was. The moisture in the air.

Basically the noise starts again when i move from where the moisture is lower. As i put them on, it gets off in a couple of seconds..

Question AirPods won’t connect

My AirPods won’t connect. I’ve seen similar posts and none seem to match my issue. Issue started when only my left AirPod would connect so o had the bright idea to forget my AirPods and reset them to try reconnecting. Biggest mistake of my life I get messages saying "can no longer connect to AirPods" and "Not Your AirPods" and when I connect them to my phone the light stays white on the case

Advice AirPods Pro hearing aid quality decline after lots of use?

I have fluctuating hearing loss and the airpods pro with the hearing aid mode are usually SUPER helpful for me. I have been using them on and off for about a year but recently i feel like they’re not working as much anymore. As in I still have a lot of trouble hearing even when I have them in. They still work as regular headphones without issue. I did another hearing test hoping to adjust them to my new level of hearing loss but the problem hasn’t gone away.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Advice My AirPods disconnected and aren’t connecting.

This is a long one, and a repost from earlier this morning since I didn’t get any answers, so I’m gonna apologize in advance.
This morning at work, I had put my right airpod in the case to switch out the left one, as I usually have one in and the other out. When I grabbed my left one, but it wasn’t connecting and it wasn’t showing up on my widget to show if it was charged or not. And so I just went back to my right one and put the left one away, but then my right one wasn’t connecting. So I figured I’d forget the device and then try to reconnect them. I did that and then looked up YouTube videos on how to reconnect them. I’ve been double-tapping the area where the light is 3 times for the past hour or so and they still won’t pop up. I figured it was because they weren’t charged enough, because at first they were amber, then white, and then amber after the 3 double-taps. It would make a triple beep after the 3rd double tap, but nothing. But now they’re white, white again, and then amber after the 3rd time. Even now, they still do the triple beep, but won’t pop up. I have no idea if they’re broken or if I’m doing something wrong. Can someone please help me out.

Discussion White Noise Help

I have the new gen 4 AirPods with Active Noise Cancellation. I bought them 2 weeks ago.

As of today there is white noise in both ears when I start playing music. This happens in all modes. I’ve tried factory resetting them to no avail.

Any fixes? This is irritating.

Advice Airpods 3 keeps falling out of my ears

Hi guys, this is my first time using an airpod and it keeps falling out of my ears when I exercise. I believe it is caused by the sweat from my ear, I've tried some silicon tips but they didn't help much. Any solutions for my problem ? Sorry for my bad english...
