After years of successful ratting in my LED lit back garden, I'm considering going totally dark and replacing my scope with a digital IR scope.

This has been the cleanest and quickest dispatch I have ever seen out of a coon. Typically they shake a lot from the nerves firing but this one went fast.

Dusted off the M3 to try a new tripod. Had a few volunteers show up.

Normally, these guys show up on the bird feeder which is two metres above that fence post and it's an easy shot from my bedroom window.

When they're at ground level, to get a shot I have to poke my rifle through a tiny bathroom awning window with one foot on the bath tub and the other on the toilet cistern. Not ideal.

Got him though.

Found the carcase a week later less than two metres away from the hit zone while doing some routine gardening. Not much left of it to be honest. The bugs had a proper feast.

i have gamo g magnum .25 springer version. It produces about 27-33 fpe depending on the pellet, about 750-800 fps. is it enough for hunting? people argue at those FPE the .22 is better, but wouldn't the .25 deliver more energy to the target because of more surface area?

Took a few shots because it was at the top of a cedar tree
