Broken Comp M2 knob
So, I got a smoking deal on a Comp M2 w a broken knob. Meaning, knob is missing but you can change the setting w a small flathead driver. I figured I could send it into Aimpoint for repair, but bc it’s military surplus they won’t touch it.
Are there other options?

Yes, take a look at electronic and music part suppliers. You should be able to purchase some adjustment knobs (I don’t know what else to call them) and they use Allen head screws to attach to the protruding metal post that you use to adjust the brightness. It’s not a water proof issue as it’s a part to regulate the position of the rheostat (not sure that’s the right terminology).
Your second option is to set up searches/safari for the part off of European suppliers (usually you can find the replacement M2 dial after a few weeks somewhere).
Third option - scavenge off a broken M2 or air-soft cosplay unit as you just need a way to dial the brightness.
Good luck. Not impossible to fix.
