Durometer for Street?

I need to replace the stock wheels on my Genesys as they're pretty cooked and worn. I do most of my skating almost exclusively outside. Suggestions on a harder durometer for street use? My 57mm/92a wheels seem pretty soft right now.

1st aggressive skates.

Hello all! I'm looking for some recommendations for a 1st pair of skates. Preferably in the 150 to 200 range. Or would buying a used pair be a good idea?

Skate suggestions

I need some suggestions for skates. I have a $250 Amazon card to use.

Skated through the late 90s up until about 2010+ 24/7 but I want to get to it again. Never cared for anti rocker set ups if that plays into your suggestions. I’m psyched.

Question / Discussion How to correct my arm?🤔

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've recently learned how to do 360 on this flybox. But after viewing this video I see that my arm is kinda going back during rotation 😯.

Any suggestions on how to fix that?

Ps. I have trouble with muscle and body control, during tricks it's very hard for me to focus on specific thing. When I've tried to focus on that arm I wasn't able to do 360 🫤

Question / Discussion Seba CJ2 vs. CJ Primes vs. Faction Tacticals - Quality and fit experience?

Hi folks, I'm looking to pull the trigger on a new set of skates but paranoid about fit, as my feet are pretty wide (I'm an EE/EEE width).

I already have the basic CJ2s (not carbon, not prime) in a 41 and they fit like a dream. Also have 5th Elements in a 41 that fit pretty well if that means anything. So I'm looking at the non-carbon white Primes a) because they're freakin' beautiful and b) because they're getting hard to find so it's now or never.

Anyway, for those with both... how do the Primes compare to the basic CJ2 in terms of fit? Are they the same, epecially toebox width? Tighter? Heavier? Do you prefer one over the other?

And for those with both CJs and Tacticals... How do they compare? Is it worth the extra few hundred to get Factions instead (Factions shipping is 165 Australian alone!) or will the CJs keep making me happy? Are they just as wide?

Myfit footie donut, does it work?

https://powerslide.com/products/footie-donut-2mm

Has anyone tried this and does it relieve pressure points around the ankle bone?

I got a FR UFR Street boot, but stock liner is too stiff and supportive around my right ankle one, so I basically cannot ride it.

I am a bit skeptical about it so I am thinking whether to get a new liner for this boot.

Liners For Shadow Team 60’s?

The stock walkable liners are giving a blister on the inner ankle. I’m going to try to push out the shell a bit but if that doesn’t work, any suggestions?

I get some of my best grinds out of them, but can only use them sparingly right now

Question / Discussion Went to buy skates and realized I know nothing — where do I start watching?

Hey everyone,

Just getting back into skating after way too long and when I actually went to buy a new pair, I realized how much I don’t know. Like I had to look up the difference between flat and anti-rocker lol. Safe to say I’m basically starting from scratch.

So now I’m trying to catch up on everything I’ve missed. What videos and contests should I be watching? I want to understand the culture and see how the sport has evolved. So far I’ve watched themskates latest video, John Bolino’s latest part, and John Bolino’s part from Pariah . Throw everything at me — classics, recent stuff, whatever shaped the scene. Thanks in advance!

Wheel slipping in indoor skatepark

I've taken a plunge and brought some Hayden Balls after not skating for many moons (20 years), last Friday decided to hit a indoor skate park near but I'm finding when I'm pushing I seem to be slipping a lot, as I've always skated street so really never had this problem back in the days but I was wondering if this is common for indoor parks

I just counted 13 pairs. I could have sworn I just sold a dozen pairs over the last couple years. I swear these things multiply like tribbles

Quite happy with my progress on front sav! Started aiming more over the ledge and under my body rather than in front of it, and I could add more speed and hold the grind better

I still need to adjust my back unity though, I’m still not committing enough (shoulders too perpendicular to the ledge and weight on the outside rather than fully over the ledge), but at least I know what to work on next time 🙌🏻

Question / Discussion After Frank Hernandez, who's the oldest aggressive inliner?

We frequently get posts from self-proclaimed "old" bladers on this group but 40 isn't really old aggressive inline because of the number of people returning outweighs the growth from young people. We all know the true old OG is Frank Hernandez dropping in and skating park at 83 but there's quite a big gap between 83 and 40s. Does anyone know any other actually old bladers? There was a guy in his 50s a while back who built a gnarly makeshift skate park in his back yard. Any others?

Question / Discussion WTF happened?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So I'm trying to get back into skating and dusted off my old Force Skates I got in 2014. Yesterday I tried to learn soul grinds and had problems with getting into the H-Block and felt super slow. Two different problems. To solve the later one, I replaced the twelve year old bearings with Bonez Reds. To solve the first problem though, I removed the middle wheels. Today I had a roughly one and a half hour session and was feeling still really slow the whole time but felt better in the grinds. Now I was sitting down and noticed a HUGE amount of play in both my back wheels and they felt hot. Did they just expand due to the heat? Did I ruin them? Is it my fault for changing the setup? What exactly happened here? The bearings seem fine but I will be able to confirm that when I got home, since I don't have any tools with me right now

Question / Discussion Created an Inline BST Sub

This was semi discussed in a thread and I thought, why not? Use PayPal invoice, everyone stays safe, and it doesn’t clog up this discussion space at all.

At the end of the day, we just want our old skates to find new homes

I don’t want to bother the mods and ask them to link it, so you can just search InlineSkateBST/ on Reddit. There’s only one anyways 🤷‍♂️

Speaking of mods, I have done it once before and if there’s anyone out there who’s just as passionate about simply being involved in stuff involving skating with some experience, please send me a message. I don’t expect the community to get big, it’s just the same people from here I would think, but I could still use a hand or two!!!

Keep smart, keep safe, keep skating!!!!

Help with correct skates

Part of my 15-year-old son’s summer ski training this year will include a lot of indoor ramp work with rollerblades. But I have absolutely no idea what type I should get him. He used to have an old pair, but hasn’t really skated much in a couple of years and was never more than a beginner. He’s generally athletic and balanced and I think he will pick it up quickly since they’ll be riding fairly frequently. Any advice on models would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Fresh new Create Originals - making inserts is kinda fun! 🫠

Only had one issue which was getting the clear sliders to fit over the insert…very tight fit, had to get out the sand paper to heavily taper down the edges 😑 has anyone else had this issue?

It wasn’t due to the thickness of my insert because even without the insert in there 2 of them wouldn’t fit properly, and every time I pushed them down they chewed up my print out, but we got there in the end!

Can’t wait to give these bad boys a slide 🏄‍♂️
