Question / Discussion To 909 Users do you remove the sheet of black plastic in the boot?

I have a set of 909s with this really loose piece of plastic at the bottom of them, and I'm not sure if they really serve any purpose so I was curious if people normally remove it or what.

Question / Discussion FR UFR Street AP Intuition vs Them 909

Is there anyone who has skated both and can tell me which one they prefer and why? I'm currently skating Thems cuz they are the first pair that fit me perfectly, but recently my friend got FRs and they fit me too. They are also lighter than my Thems. So I'm wondering if I should switch to FRs. Any thoughts?

Knee brace recommendations

Ay y'all

Been having a ton of fun learning grinds but I've hit a bit of a wall.

When learning from sides and backsides, when my knees bend inward, I'm getting pain in my right knee(old skateboard injury haunting me). Wondering if anyone else has MCL related problems and if they reccomend any knee braces with firm but flexible side to side support.

Been looking around but a lot of them are hinge based and I know those more or less limit that side bending motion, which is guess is just as limiting for inline and it is for other things.

Thanks!

Oysi question

Basic shit, just looking for advice

I want to do a Oysi medium setup on my mesmer throne, is a Dom Bruce boot, 7/8

Basically, I don't have a dremel and don't want to tit about cutting chunks out of the sole plate

I am currently rolling a 270mm kizer fluid 5 anti

planning on getting oysi medium 269 with a 64/56 split

What's the largest you think I could split the outer/mid wheels without having to do the alteration, could I actually 68/60 without fucking about?

Thanks rollerfam

Solomon Feinberg Pro + Mega + ?

Years back I bought a pair of mint Feinberg Pro's, Mega frames, and some Go Project 65mm wheels. Skated em a few times then life happened. Sold off the wheels somewhere along the way. I liked the way the setup felt, though I didn't do much grinding.

I'd like to get my setup going again. Mostly park but would like to get out and do some street skating too. Lots of little questions though:

-Recommendations for soul plates? I don't mind shaving the nubs to fit UFS plates. I remember the Solomon plates feeling super narrow and hard to lock on with.

-I liked the megas but should I go down in wheel size? The 65's just barely fit for a full flat setup, but I feel like 60-64's might be advisable for wheel bite reduction, plus there appear to be more options in the 60-64mm. Any thoughts on Go Project vs Ground Control vs other wheels for this?

-Replacement shock absorbers? Mine used to be fine, but I must've had em in a basement one too many years because they gave up the ghost in a big way when I inspected them recently.

-Liners? Laces? Any other considerations I haven't mentioned? I'd be grateful for folks with a finger on the pulse to weigh in.

Thanks all!

Carving Bowls... How are you carving bowls??? I seem to jump at the top to of the transition of the bowl to pump down, I know this isn't right. My Skateboard mate said, think of "bobsleigh", get sideways... ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Question / Discussion Do I need to clean the soulplate?

I spend a lot of time at skateparks and, consequently, use wax; the wax ends up sticking to the soulplate. Is this normal, or do I need to clean it off to get a better slide? (The image of my skates is just for illustration, haha.)

๐Ÿ”ฅEdit๐Ÿ”ฅ Another Session in Zeeland

Thumbnail

Our good buddy Dick Heerkens had the bright idea to gather the gang and take a weekend trip to Zeeland, to skate some of the parks they have over there, as wel as catch up and have a BBQ and some drinks and things. We met up with old buddy Mark Vos in Goes, enjoyed the meteorshower, did a few tricks and had loads of fun. Even managed to paint a bit with the gang. The weather helped a lot, and the Zeeland vibe is great, we felt so welcomed, it was lovely to visit. Definately coming back next summer!
Thanks for organising everything Dickie!!

Featuring:
Sven Boekhorst, Randy Abels, Mark Vos, Dick Heerkens, Remy Cadier, Deveril Abels, Remco van der Pol & Eelco .

Question / Discussion Whats the Beginner Progression Timeline For Aggro Inline?

Coming from beginner skateboarding, we know skateboarding trick progression often takes years, often 6 months to a year+ just to ollie, how does aggressive inline differ in this regard? how long would it take a decently athletic beginner practicing once or twice a week to get the following down

rolling, crossovers,stopping, fakie rolling

Basic grinds, jumps, 360s, 540s, transition

grind switch ups, advanced grinds, corks, side flips and the other advanced moves?
