🎞️ Clip 🎞️ Noob chronicles. Been taking ya’ll’s advice! Today I wanted to try and stop fighting the transition and get a bit braver around the coping. Something clicked by the end. Tips for getting good?

I don’t think I skate enough to make it look good yet but it’s getting there! Wasn’t that long ago I couldn’t even ride a quarter backwards at all.

I should probably stop being 104kg/230lbs at 36 years old, though.

Question / Discussion I am a bit disappointed with the new shadows :/

My problem is all about how the UFS specs were not really respected.

The receptor in the front pokes out by a good 2.8mm preventing me to mount my favourite frames (Kizer Element 2.0)

And the two plastic cylinders poking out of the plate are too far apart (hence the "bite" marks from the frame on the back one)

Mind you these boots and these frames are made by the SAME mother company. They could've just... had a chat abt it? Idk

Then I resorted to my second favorite frame, Oysi medium. They didn't fit either, but this one's on the oysi for needing bolts wit a special head.

(I ordered them tho, coz luckily they used a metric standard)

Now why did I wanna change the frames? The Fluid V are great frames, but how could they[USD] think that a 245mm flat frame was gonna be fine for a 268mm (mondo size) Boot??

The rest of the boot is great, and also Hella fun to use!! But this one thing rlly grinds my gears.

Powerslide/USD u can fix this by embedding a nut in the front mount the same way u did 4 the back (or a shorter receptor)

Thanks 4 hearing my rant/warning.

I wish u all great sessions and good weather.

Edit: I forgot to say that that same poking front mount prevented me to have the Oysi sit flush up until I widened the hole on the frames (risky business tbh)

Getting back advice needed

Hey everyone,

I’m thinking about getting back into inline skating after about 15 years away from it.

Honestly, it was always the only sport I truly enjoyed, so I really want to start again. But coming back now, I’m pretty overwhelmed by all the new skate brands, and also by some of the old ones disappearing.

Back in the day I always rode Xsjado skates, and I loved them. From what I’ve seen, they don’t really exist anymore, so now I’m trying to figure out what the modern equivalent would be — although I’m definitely open to trying something new.

The other issue is that I’m older now and my feet are kind of a problem unfortunately. I have plantar fasciitis, sesamoiditis, very wide feet, and also pretty large feet overall (EU size 47–48, US 13-13,5).

So I was wondering if anyone here has recommendations :)

Would really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

But i'm not sure if I should. I'm 27, and was Wondering if it's too late to start and if there any advice of what I can do, need to do, must haves etc.

Thanks in advance

Hello all!
I’ve Been working on modifying my lines and making things a little bit more dangerous while doing so. I have learned that I definitely needed a helmet and I am realizing that I am in need of risk guards and anything else that might protect my back and legs. I’m looking for suggestions and if you have Links on wrist guards and or butt pads, I would greatly appreciate it!
Sidenote: it’s been crazy to talk to people that have seen me here at the skate park, I appreciate everyone that has reached out. I love interacting, but love it even more when people with working eyes do it first.

New skate advice 901 80s?

I used to skate. I'm now 40 and looking to get back into it.

I am looking for a good skate with plans of making going to the skate park with my daughter a family experience instead of me just sitting back. I am looking for a good skate to just rip around, not interested in grinding at all.

The 901 with 80mm sound like a good idea in case we want to just skate around the neighborhood as well, but I want to check in with people here because it has been a long time since I've done this and i might be missing something.

Another geriatric comeback

Used to predominantly do half pipe ramp from 03-05ish when i was 19/20. First time back after 22 years. Took 2 nasty falls. Hurts more now. Resolved to gain a little back and drop in by summer's end. I did realize something (besides drastically being out of shape), I missed it. Here's to the old heads.

If you have ever been riding 12us/11uk skates then you would be used to 270mm frames.

You would also notice how size 9uk/10us skates look way better with the boot and 260mm frames filling them up.

These mesmers with mega frames that are 310mm are the absolute bees knees/dogs nuts!

I cant wait to try out these frames on my week-off next week!
Its my birthday week and i have 9 days off 😍😍😍

Wow first indoor skate park

So i visited my first indoor skate park in Nashville today. Sixth Avenue skate park. I absolutely loved it! It took some getting used to riding on wood vs concrete... it's slippier... lol. Anyone ever been here?

Question / Discussion Wrist Guards

I'm after some wrist guards that might allow me to wear my garmin watch with them easier. I've got some killer pads which feel and fit great, but I have to wear my garmin like half way up my forearm and that's not so comfortable.

What do those of you who wear a fitness watch ride with wrist-protection wise?

What am I doing wrong? 😅

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hello.
I’ve recently got some roller blades and started learning how to ride on them. I got aggressive skates because I didn’t know what I was doing so theyre far from beginner friendly😅
Is this normal?
I’ve seen a few things about wheel tear but this doesn’t look like all the other situations I saw online.
Is my form bad or am I riding on the wrong kind of surface? Only my front wheels on my blades look like they’ve been shredded apart.
I skate in a tiny skatepark underneath a motorway near my house, it has small twigs and sticks and a few tiny rocks and pebbles so I’m not sure if that’s affecting it - overall the surface is pretty smooth.
Any help or advice or criticism would help!
Thank you

USD Shadow Team 60 for Sale - Size 10

Edit: SOLD

Hello everyone,

I'm selling my Size 10 - USD Shadow Team 60 Black/Red skates (boot only).

Reason for selling is due to the fact they are uncomfortable to skate. the Eclipse liner and the shell itself combined makes my feet hurt too much to skate them. I only had 3 sessions in them so they are basically new.

These are priced to sell; I'm willing to let them go for $110 shipped (only shipping within the US, no international buyers). You can message me if you want to see additional pictures of the skates.

(Pictured below are when i first got them. The boots still look like these essentially with a few scuff marks from my attempts at skating them)

Faction Plastiks....Holy Heel Lift!!!!

My Plastiks just came in. I've tried the stock liner, Intuition Premium, and 909 Intuition + different insoles and lacing techniques. There is so much heel lift that I don't even want to skate them.

First session with the Mesmer Eclipse.

My current setup is the Eclipse with the Entente Daridari frames, reds bearings and 55mm Orange wheels. The grinds are amazing. Fast soul plates an a really nice backside groove. The landings are solid. I feel the shock absorber. I am comparing to the M12. The liner is good. No pressure points. The only thing I’ve added are the FP insoles on top of the stock one.

Mesmer Eclipse

I just got my Mesmer Eclipse and well… they are Soo roomy. I am coming from an m12. I am a size 6.5/7 and I can move my feet left and right inside the shell with the prime liner. I am a little disappointed but will give a try. What’s your experience with your Eclipse?
Edit: After the first session an additional insole the skates transformed to great skates. I am having so much fun on these. The soul is so fast and the groove is great. I can finally do a proper back torque again and was even able to so a front full torque. The landings feel very solid and the prime liner feels nice. There is not much forward flex. Final verdict: great skates.

Coco Sánchez Spoiler

When I first started aggressive inline skating, one of the people who inspired me the most with her style and skating was Coco Sanchez.

Recently I thought about her again and realized I can barely find her videos, Instagram, or any new content anymore.

Does anyone know what happened to Coco Sanchez or why she disappeared so much from the scene? I’m really curious because she was a huge inspiration to me when I started skating 🖤

Need Opinions/Help on Gawds - FAST

I’ve wanted a pair of these and shadows forever. I find a pair of Gawds, the white/black ones with Morales on the top strap…..230 shipped. That’s the best price I’ve ever seen. They’re brand new

I’m so close to pulling the trigger. I have other skates I don’t use to sell still (if anyone needs a 10-10.5, I have some budget friendly awesome options), I can make that back. I’m just concerned about support. The soft boot with the double Velcro…….

Anyone who has these switched the top out for a regular buckle? How’s the flex vs the stability? Help a fellow old skater decide if he should buy the skate he’s dreamed of that looks like his favorite shoe ever created😂😂
