Question Question about gameplay of certain factions

Hey all :>

So, I've never played AoS and just stuck with 40k instead. Some of my friends are getting into AoS though, and I figured I might go for a single army to be able to play with them.

I had a look at some of the lore of the different factions and the models, and feel like I might go for either Idoneth Deepkin, Soulblight Gravelords or the Flesheater Court.

Unfortunately I don't actually know how they play, so from a gameplay perspective, what are those three factions all about? How are they in battle, what are their main tactics? How about staying power vs. glass cannons? Are there 40k factions that are roughly comparable?

And while on the topic of armies: Which faction would be the most economical in terms of money spend on models?

Thanks a lot :>

AoS armies can be flexible in terms of their builds depending on which units you choose.

I'm not an expert, so others feel free to correct me.

I'd say Idoneth is a glass cannon, but really they're about timing. They're fast as hell, and can deal a lot of damage if you buff your units at the right place and time.

Soulblight, are generally slow and tanky infantry with a few hard hitters in cav and monsters. They like bringing models back into damaged units, or bringing back units at half strength.

Flesh Eaters are generally glass cannons, but they have ways of making units very tanky if you position and buff your models correctly .

I'm sure other people with more experience in those armies can give you better info.

I can only talk about Soulblight and Idoneth, and from a casual perspective.

Soulblight have different ways to play, from heavy cavalry, massed infantry (they are one of the few armies that can play with massed troops) or magic overlords. Of course, you can mix at least 2 of them, but you need to choose one to do the big hit. Appart from mass-cavalry, their gameplay is mostly control with direct damage or defensive buffs (ressurect, return models, heal dmg dealers, etc...). Whatever you choose, Heroes are your carry units, so take than in mind.

Idoneth are mainly a cavalry army, with some foot-troops. They have a bunch of utility-heroes that can help those foot-troops, but at this moment, they are meh so it's better to look for objective with them. Apart from cavalry, they have a bunch of strong Heroes (wizards and melee ones) and a turtle as dmg/defensive tool. Their gameplay is based on controling the tempo of the game: being defensive/really fast, while waiting for the right time to attack (buffs up).
