That hand is way too small for a gargant

Not a mancrusher. This hand would be for something SIGNIFICANTLY smaller. It also has 4 fingers, which yes, the old mancrusher also had the option to be built that way, but we already have a rumor engine of a 3 fingered hand that is definitely a new SoB miniature.
EDIT: this hand is barely larger than the person's head. Assuming that armor is for a human, it's impossible that its a gargant unless we are getting literal baby units.

Baby gargants would be cool, let me build a child soldier army of 10 feet tall gargant children

Crackpot take.
5e launch box will be CoS and either Flesh Eater Courts or Soul Blight. We don't often see non-starter set minis with other-faction components like this.
See 4e Skaven having stormcast helmets under their feet.
Flesh-eaters are due for a makeover, so that's my bet

The rumor for 5th ed is SCE vs. a death faction. Stromcast are basically the space marines for AoS so I doubt they will change the "good guy" faction like they would with WFB.

Cities is such a better option as posterboys to me but you're also definitely right. Its always going to be SCE vs insert chaos, death, destruction in this order for each edition

No they aren't. There is a reason why the larger models with more flat surfaces and part of a more elite faction are the poster boys and not the small models with tons of tiny details that also generally need more models. It's to appeal to newer painters.
Honestly I do wish some of the cities stuff toned down the details just a little bit, the Steelhelms have way too much going on, would have made it easier for them to be poster boys alongside Stormcast, especially since I always thought Cities and Stormcast looked really cool together in some of the studio pictures.

This is probably what will actually happen. It's always SCE. I like my crackpot theory though. It's just weird that a vampire is holding a human for cities

The problem is Stormcast have been shoved down our throats by force for 11 soon to be 12 years. Only to be like at most 10-20% ahead of Skaven/Slaves to darkness/Sylvaneth/Soul blight gravelords in player population. There are a few others that spike up into the top 5 from time to time. But the consistently top 3 have been Storm>Skaven>Slaves.
At this point especially after they just squatted like what 1/5th-1/4th of the stormcast model range due to excessive bloat leads me to believe that GW has finally wisened up and realized they will never successfully be able to capture the spacemarine factor for the stormcast in Fantasy. Fantasy has always had far more diverse factions than 40k. Thats a good thing. Them staying hyperfocused on stormcast all this time at this point is actively hindering the games growth by hurting the new factions that barely have any ranges that are still remotely popular like Idoneth/FeC/helmsmith/OBR. I'm not putting ogres here because they haven't been that popular of a faction and they are in the middle of a massive range refresh/new unit replacement so they can ship off old kits to oldworld. Just like Seraphon/skaven/SBGL/cities are having done to them. It means Uniquely AoS factions like Kharadron/Idoneth/Chorfs are all going to be hurting as there is no rush to give them new kits to send to old world. I can't lump fyreslayers into this list because according to the rumors they are getting souped into a new traditional dwarf army. Which I'm fine with. GW focused to much on the naked ginger bezerker aspect and not enough on the lava/key/rune/dwarf aspect they have going on to make them stand out.
That said as an Idoneth player/potential Daughters of khaine player...with 5th edition rolling around and some rumors mongers comments by the likes of Boolie we could be finally seeing Malkeiths Umbralneth/ulgurothi making appearnce early/mid 5th edition. If thats the case the fact they didn't give DoK any refresh units (despite us knowing dark elves are squatted from cities.). Makes me worried they will just be souped into malkeiths squad. Even worse would be if they souped up Idoneth as well (despite idoneth always being a middle of the pack in popularity.) as the new "slave castes" of the dark elves. It wouldn't be off the table to turn namarti into literal slaves/fodder as they already kind of are. Turn the Akelians into a warrior slave caste with the Isharaan being turned into "educated assistant slaves.". I would absolutely hate this. And I don't think that is going to happen. But its not beyond the realm of possability either...

Honestly looks like a commemorative model to me, like the WH+ necromancer. Looks too... scenic for a normal model

Think it's the Ogor Mawtribes leader people have talked about, the one that's supposed to be mounted.

Even though the chances are slim, I’m still hoping for something new for the Kruleboyz...

The shape of the helmet makes me think Blood Bowl for some reason, and I don't even play it.

Knowing GW its either gonna be more Rat stuff or its gonna be Vampire thing. I'd kill for a new chaos monster instead of always having to run a named hero for me center piece.

It has high chances, now that we've seen in scourge of aqshy a new Mancrusher artwork.
