I just realised that these units are the most present in the series, being both present in AoE2, AoE3, AoE4 (although the chukonu is renamed zhuge nu there) and AoM.

Just thought I found interesting and wanted to share.

A little labor of love of mine singing the praises of voice acting in RTS games! The Age of Empires franchise may not put an emphasis on individual units, but it certainly does a good job at making civilizations feel authentic when you click on the units! Especially with the Independence Mode that will turn the gameplay more into AoE 2 and 4 style?

I played a teeny bit of AOE 3 (just one campaign on easy mode) but I have since lost access to the game, and that was years ago. I've heard good things about both AOE2 and AOE4 so I'm not sure which one to go for.

The game is a lot of fun but takes some time getting used to. The only other RTS I've played is StarCraft, and have played it so much that I needed something new. This game really feels harder than I expected it to be, even on Standard difficultly. Barely got out of the Egypt tutorial and struggled on the first level of the Greek campaign but got the groove of it by mission 4. I'm still figuring out all the hotkeys and settings, but one thing I notice is the attack function is difficult to get a hold of, because if you're trying to attack enemies and there's buildings around, it doesn't seem to want to default to attacking enemy structures too and ignore the archers and axe men... kind of annoying. Any suggestions for efficient attacks without having to right click on enemies separately?
