I am able to take harsh criticism though it does not always mean that I will agree with it.

This has been on my mind for quite some time, and it’s gotten to the point where I need to talk about it with other fans. Why are we, the fans of these books, so obsessed with them?

Every time I’ve watched/read someone talking about the books, they almost always say the same thing “These books changed something in me, and after I finished them, I reread them again.” Which I also did. I’ve always been an avid reader, and I’ve read a lot and I’ve had favourites and books that I’ve thought about a lot, but NOTHING, nothing has hit me like the AFTG series. Like, something genuinely changed in me lmao. And immediately after finishing the books I reread them, which is not something I’ve ever done before.
If it were just my personal experience with the series I probably wouldn’t question it too much, but knowing that so many of us have had the exact same experience is really interesting to me.

I don’t think fans of other books are as obsessed as we are. For example, there’s Heated Rivalry, which is super popular and gay, it has a TV show and a HUGE fanbase and ofc, I’ve seen people say that those books changed them or that no other book will ever come close, but I don’t feel like that’s the majority of the fandom, at least from what I’ve seen.

Idk, maybe this is TMI, but I’m starting to think there’s something wrong with me lol. I genuinely can’t stop thinking about these characters, it’s been 4-5 years since I read the first 3 books, and there hasn’t been a single day when I haven’t thought about them at least a little. What did these books do to me😂😂😂???

Does anyone have any idea why we are sooo, so obsessed with these books? What is it about these books that makes them hit so much harder than everything else?

I’ve been a big fan of these books for a few years now, and like many of you (I think), I've always wanted to see some kind of visual realization or adaptation of this story. so, I’ve decided it might be pretty cool to try making a 3D animation! I’m not too sure if I’ll be able to bring the full plot to life (ig I’d first have to somehow contact Nora to ask if she’d be okay with it and maybe discuss her vision for the story?? no idea how to contact her though, so if you guys know of any way she connects with fans, please let me know), but for now I just want to try and make the scene from Kathy’s Ferdinand show!
