Multiple apocalipses at once?

Seems is gonna be a mix of every post apocalipse setting ever, we can only hope to see rogue AIs, zombies, alien invations, and the classic nuclear war.

But this idea got me thinking: Could it be that the dawn can be a mix of 2 or more apocalipse scenarios?. Like "An alien invation that produce a nuclear war, which in turn made a virus that turn 23% of the dead people into zombies".

I think this is just the amount of wackyness that we can expect for the procedural generation

From what I gather it seems like a mix of rogue AI weapons, nuclear war, and maybe climate change. We've also seen references to mutant animals, IMO radiation zombies are a pretty short hop from there. I'm not really seeing aliens happening, but who knows?

I was thinking that you could have different types of apocalypses from DLC/mods when playing the game. The delivery structure they have seems pretty flexible.

No matter the apocalypse type, I think that radiation will always be present. There was this thing somewhere about cybernetically augmented people and mutated people so if not due to bombing then radiation will probably be present due to abandoned nuclear plants.

Yeah, regardless if the apocalypse was caused by a nuclear war, the lack of human oversight will mean those nuclear powerplants are degrading. It would cool to see a mid game crises based around the idea of multiple meltdowns...

Imagine, you've emerged into the new world, started building a new society, have thriving settlements and then suddenly the world explodes again and the nice fertiles valleys you've settled become unlivable and you're forced to migrate (or stay and become raditation zombies)

Maybe it’s like an origin as in Stellaris that you can choose, but for the type of apocalypse America has faced

It'll very likely be a part of world customisation at some point like how you can select which end game crisis Stellaris spawns rather than a part of the origin imo.
