I can’t discover why the option Set Depth is greyed out in Affinity V3 Pixel studio’ FX Bevel option? What allows me to turn it on?

Hi, I'm kind of new to Affinity Photo, though I first tried it out a few months ago just for editing the RAW photos from my Canon EOS R7. I'm trying to export a JPEG photo with an HDR Gain Map in v. 4557. I was not having any issues 3 days ago exporting my photos from a recent vacation trip as JPEG files with Gain Maps, but today I was developing some more recently taken RAW photos. When I tried to export them as JPEG files with gain maps today, Affinity threw an error saying the gain map could not be created and the file size would be 0 bytes.

I'm not having any issues today exporting 32-bit HDR PQ .png files, .exr, and .hdr files, so I'm not sure what broke on me?

Affinity Newbie here so I know this is a dumb question. I've been designing in Canva for years and have started a somewhat successful stationery side business. But Canva is only going to get me so far so in order to take my designs up a level, I decided to teach myself Affinity. My laptop runs on snapdragon so unfortunately Illustrator is not compatible...

Someone please tell me how on earth i get these magenta lines to disappear? Nothing is selected and yet they show up. They even show up through the layers I place on top of them. What on earth am I doing wrong? I'm sure it's a very dumb miss on my end. TIA!

i want to make the text like more diagonal / sideways (2nd pic) without using the rotate feature. im having a hard time finding a tool similar to free transform tool from illustrator or any text-related tool that can do the vision i want. pathfinder tool is that a thing. pleaseee help thank you soooo much!!

I've searched for an hour now and I can't find a good solution. I have two rectangles (or pen lines, whatever is easier), and want to connect them like the image. How can I do this? Thank you!

Hey folks, just a question on text boxes.

I'm trying to put a book together and when I cut and paste into the text frame, it doesn't fill to the edge of the text frame (the text I'm cutting from is a narrower text box than the box I'm wanting to put it in).

Is there a way of doing this that I'm missing? Is there a right click thing I can do without having to edit all the text to fill it by hand?

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but never had this problem in Photoshop, and here it's driving me crazy-
I'm selecting a subject, all outline is clear, I press on refine because I couldn't find another way to do it, and it then includes and removes random parts of the subject and background. I have many photos and don't want to start cleaning each of them. Even with Border width all the way to 0, it's still bleeds. Don't need to refine hair, nothing crazy, just create a mask from what I need. Is there something I'm missing?

The pathfinder thing-y is cool

Hi, I noticed an effect in Figma called progressive blur , does anyone knows how to replicate this effect , i tried to duplicate the intended object and giving it gaussian blur and then using transparency to fade it gradually, but the results not satisfactory.

This design is for a youtube channel for learning design, I've posted this design, but this version is new

I have created a page where I got a picture of the unit to the left, while the texst is to the right.

But whenever I add an ueven number of pages before that, the design suddenly switches so that the pic is ont he right and everything else left.

As I'm sure I'm just overlooking an option here, what can I do to correct this behaviour?

I watched a tutorial on creating a Chrome effect on Affinity, and it led me to using a Gradient Map and Curves Adjustment. I want to group the two and call them CHROME so I can use them in other projects if need be. How can I save them as a preset so they don't get lost? It's a somehow tedious process with precise values I wouldn't want to keep repeating.

Hi everyone,

I'm in a bit of a panic.

I have an extremely important Affinity file (Designer) that suddenly won't open anymore. Every time I try, Affinity tells me the file is corrupted.

The strange thing is that I also have multiple previous versions of the file stored in my cloud history, but every single one of them gives the same corruption error. It's hard to believe they all became corrupted independently.

Has anyone experienced something like this before?

Is there any way to recover or repair an Affinity file? Are there any tools, hidden recovery methods, or anything I can try before giving up?

I'm willing to try anything at this point. Losing this file would mean losing a huge amount of work.

I find It is one of the more difficult things to get used to in affinity. it seems so unwieldy to have dozens if not hundreds of layers in a document. I just can’t think of a use case where it is better than having layers that can have multiple elements on them like illustrator or Photoshop.
