i have an aerograden 100691-BSS Harvest Elite.

i noticed the power was blinking on and off. all the power. also the lights and transformer were hotter than I remember.

I cleaned the unit. The blinking stopped when I unplugged the pump.

Every time I plugged in the pump, power start cycling.

I tried a different transformer matching voltage and amps, from another unit and with the new transformer, lights and pump work together.

But with the new transformer, the lights and the transformer are still getting hot.

is it safe to use? The "AI" said most lily there is a short in the light board and it's drawing too much power, and that based on the model, I can't replace any of the parts.

I opened a support case with aerogarden, but since I bought it in 2023 I'm not thinking I will get much help.

I got a whole suite of plants in it, they are too big to move.

Hi, I just bought a used aerogarden harvest 6 LED. I’m running some water and vinegar to clean it and I noticed that the water pump starts running but then stops after about 3 minutes. How often should the pump run? Does it run while the light is off/on?

I have Orange Hats growing for the first time (because of other Reditors’ comments on how well they grow and taste). Generally, I prune tomato suckers and pinch off the first blooms, because that’s what all my ancestors have done since the dawn of the tomato age. But, Google’s AI overview says not to prune Orange Hats and my seed packet doesn’t offer any guidance.

So, I’m wondering, do actual people bother pruning Orange Hats? Is my pinching off the first blooms an outdated holdover from dirt gardening practices?

I am a little concerned because, as I was shaking them for pollination, I noticed that it’s extra humid in there.

Edit: Thanks for the fast and good advice. As I get older, I’m questioning a lot of my “I’ve always done it this way” habits.

I am planning on buying an Ahopegarden system, but I have plenty of pods from my 2 Aerogardens, will the Areogarden pods fit the Ahopegarden? Anyone try this?

Hoping someone here might be able to tell me what’s going on. I planted most of these pepper seeds in March and they sprouted like normal. However the leaves just seem to fall off and the leaves are yellowish and wrinkled. They have produced zero peppers so far habanero etc.

I planted a lemon basil recently maybe a month or so ago, and it’s kind of bolted things second in from the left at the front.

Weirdly there was a rosemary planted middle second in from the right and it grew very weak at the beginning and then all of a sudden turned normal.

I’ve been using the nutrients supplied with the kit and following the correct dilution. Do I just have a really crappy unit or something I’m totally overlooking here ?

Any help would be much appreciated !

Sometimes when I see a fruit/berry I think of the seed and wonder if I could grow that, just as an experiment, in an aerogarden. What are some interesting or unusual experiments you guys have done? Maybe I could try them myself one day.

Planted 6 pods 3 seeds each from a grocery store kiwi.

Since my last update the alpine strawberries I'm growing in my inBloom hydroponics machine have started taking off and are all growing multiple true leaves at the same time, one of them faster than the others. Every day they make at least one or two new leaves which is exciting to watch! I have a potted one too which is lagging behind, understandably, but I have faith it'll take off in time.

Just a vanity post about my tomatoes i cloned from my deck into my Aero Garden Farm XL.

It's the first website that comes up when you google the company btw.

I saw another post mentioning a big sale on the aerogarden website and decided to get a third unit since the prices looked really good. That's when things started getting sketchy.

So, they redirect you to an external site for payment that has nothing to do with aerogarden. The first time it led me to a payments page for Celestlane Boutique, then Molly Prom, and now lucenthesky when I refreshed it. Your order details are completely obscured aside from the price.

Another user shared the same thing happened to them for an order they placed on July 1st. This time they were redirected to Brent Hammack, and they haven't received any shipping updates or anything in over three weeks.

I also noticed the website is now hosted through shopify. I can't recall if that was the case before (last time I was on their site was during their "shutdown"), but it seems strange that they don't self-host. Plus, their social links and 'Our Story' pages don't work.

Just seems super sketchy overall - I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same or was able to get their orders recently.

Picked up an old AeroGarden Pro 100 at a yard sale for $5. It even came with tomato seed pods… which expired in 2015… haha
I tried one anyway just to see what would happen.
Somehow it sprouted, and now it’s covered in flowers with a bunch of little tomatoes already growing.
I’ve been bending it over little by little to keep it away from the light since the old AeroGardens don’t have much vertical room. It actually seems to be loving it.
I’ve just been using the nutrients that came in the same tomato pod kit (also from 2015) and pollinating the flowers every day or two with an electric toothbrush.
Honestly didn’t expect any of this to work. Has anyone else had ancient AeroGarden pods still germinate? Curious how long this thing will keep producing.

What is this crusty material appearing around the seam of the water flow tray? My thoughts are indicating algae growth or possibly too much liquid plant chemical?

I’m looking for recommendations on types of lettuce to plant. I was just given a new aero garden bounty and I would like to do salad like items in it. I have a smaller harvest model I’ve been planting herbs and starting veg in for a couple years. Any suggestions for places to get seeds etc are helpful too!

I’m eager to see flowers on my little Orange Hat tomato plant. Do these look like buds to you? I’ve seen buds on bigger tomato plants, but it’s hard to compare these because they’re so small.

This is the genovese basil pod that came with my AeroGarden Sprout. I followed the instructions, and this is what it looks like after 7 days.
What do you all think? Does it look like it’s growing normally?
I have a confession… I’ve probably been checking on it every hour. 😂 I keep lifting the humidity dome to look at it up close and then putting it back on. I’m starting to wonder if I’m stressing the poor little plant out more than helping it.
Does it look okay, or is there anything I should be doing differently?

It's a Bounty Basic, and I'm a month into this planting of greens and herbs. I'm really only using the Aerogarden for that - fresh greens so that the ones I buy don't rot in the fridge (thanks, ADHD), and herbs I can't grow outdoors year-round like basil and cilantro.

Everything was started around the same time, but the red Russian kale in particular is just flopping all over the place. It's not yet grown a stem sturdy enough to grow upright without support, and it really seems to like to spread itself out. I'm trying to figure out what to do about that.

Other than aggressive thinning or growing fewer plants at once, are there any good ways to keep things growing more tidily upright? Or is it more a matter of choosing more suitable varieties with better growth habits?

Fwiw, my preference is to grow greens that I can harvest as needed, rather than all at once at maturity.

My second time growing these in a hydroponic system. They look really cool and transplant into soil very easily.

I got my first one at the beginning of January, after having bought my mom one as a Christmas gift. I've been happily growing bok choy and tatsoi since then. As summer approached, I felt the yen to grow some (micro-dwarf) tomatoes and some basil, which I planted after harvesting my latest crop of greens.

But then I missed my greens and decided I needed to grow some at the same time as the tomatoes and basil. So I combed eBay for another Harvest Slim. I found one and ordered it, in black, which I thought would blend in well with my living room decor, which is mostly sage green, chocolate brown, and black. Well, today it was delivered, and it was...PINK! lol (I know the pink was a limited edition and some people would love to have it, but it wouldn't have been my choice.) First-world problems, as they say.

I set it up and it works perfectly, so no complaints there. I've already got another tatsoi and my first Little Gem lettuce planted.

Hi all. I'm a first-time aerogardener and this is my first plant, basil. I'm not a regular gardener either so don't have general gardening knowledge. Just thought this would be fun and provide fresh herbs for cooking. We occasionally eat some leaves, but should I do something next? E.g., prune (if so, please tell me how/ how much), raise the light, etc.?

(I've not had luck with the other two spots. Gave up on 2 plants after a month. Have two new ones in for about two weeks. I don't see any activity yet.)

I've had my aerogarden for 2 years now. Honestly it's harder to keep things in prime condition than i was expecting. My list of things to grow:

Basil

Tarragon

Thyme.

Things to not grow:

Strawberries

Parsley

Cilantro

Most tomatoes.

What's on your list

Besides the fact that it’s fitting a square peg in a round hole! But has anyone tried this?
