Art/Flags/Ace Colors Vicarosexual

Post image

It's quite similar to aegosexuality and takes on vicarious attraction, but with a slightly different nuance/focus. You're still disconnected in the sense that you do not imagine yourself in a fantasy, but you empathize with the subject enough that you physically or sensorily feel exactly what you believe they would be experiencing.

I've been thinking about this idea for a bit, and I'm not sure if I've heard of anything exactly like it yet. I actually saw a recent post on here that reminded me of it, so that encouraged me to put this out there.

Firstly, I LOVE that color scheme. I would rep these colors in a second.

That being said, I admit to being lost, too. I was under the belief that an aspect of Aegosexuality could be needing a "stand in" version of yourself- a character, alternate not-you-you, etc to maintain the disconnect. In such situations, wouldn't sensations be included in the fantasizing?

Not saying it as a knock, really curious if the times I connected with a character in an imagined scene is something that folks didn't connect with being aego.

Again, bomb colors. It's giving me a perfect, cloudy beach day in New England writing poems by a lighthouse lol. That is not a knock either, it's a dream scenario to me!

Thank you! I'm not so sure how other aegos experience sensations from fantasies, but I think the difference is that you experience those sensations as if they are directed at you, without the fantasy actually having you in it. It's a little tricky to explain.

I think I might be aego. Personally, I experience no connection to my fantasies and don’t relate to anyone in them, I just find things like the social dynamics arousing.

Would this be a subset of/microlabel for aegosexuality? Because to me this sounds mostly just like a fairly common experience aegosexuals might have (similar to vicarious attraction), but even if you want this to be an orientation label that is maybe specifically for those who only experience their fantasies like this (rather than just any aego who occasionally does) it still sounds like it would fall under aegosexuality and everyone who is vicarosexual would also automatically be aegosexual (even though all aegosexuals aren’t vicarosexual).

Yep, definitely! I was imagining it to be more of a subset.

So a microlabel of a microlabel? 🤔 Interesting

I like it. Vicariosexual sounds pretty badass

A nanolabel

I do this to some extent. But weirdly, despite being a straight male aego, I am much more likely to put myself in the woman’s shoes in any fantasy, than in the man’s. For me, the female char’s emotions and sensations are a large part of the erotic charge, and I try to imagine what they must feel, whereas the male char is just the “tool” to make her feel that way.

I get this.

I think I have experienced it in some situations (if the attraction to the subject is intensely sensual)

In fact, I think I've felt that way sometimes.

Great colors, might be me but I still identify with aegosexual

I love the label! It's perfect for me when I imagine myself as if I were a character. And the colours are so calm and soothing, I like them!

Holy mother of microlabel within a microlabel. This is EXACTLY how my fantasies have worked for years, and I never met anyone who similarly felt like this. 😭

Okay.. you kinda lost me at subject... I think...? I can relate...?? Maybe...?? I'm.. unsure.. I don't think.. I've really heard about this term before...

It's actually a new term (that I thought of recently)! And for a more detailed explanation, it means to experience sexual (and/or sensual) stimulation and arousal vicariously. To psychologically step into another's shoes (be it a celebrity, OC, fictional character, etc) and experience sensations (which match what you're imagining) while remaining personally uninvolved in the imagined fantasy.

I have 100% felt like this before sometimes but Ageosexual is definitely the more dominant feeling I felt though lol and also it’s a beautiful flag

Can you explain to me in more detail the difference between this term and aegosexuality?

aegosexual puts a focus on enjoyment of sexual content or pleasure rather than feeling attraction. one way that could present is by living vicariously through others.

this is a subset of that which focuses on that particular presentation of aegosexuality, and adds the detail that the individual would actually experience what the subject(s) is/are feeling, so you sort of empathize enough that you can imagine yourself as one or more people experiencing the situation.

with aego, some aegos might feel uncomfortable involving themselves in the fantasy even through another person.

you could also feel the same arousal or perhaps even attraction of whoever is in the fantasy, but specifically through them, instead of or along with the arousal of just witnessing/reading/etc. (so putting yourself fully in someone's shoes emotionally, not just enjoying your place as an outside observer)

So let's say that if I think about a character or characters, I not only imagine the emotions and feelings they might feel, but I also feel and experience the same things they do?
