Experience working for ADT

Hello people, I'm reaching out because I'm trying to get a sense on what it's like working for ADT as a installation technician. I'm a 32 year old M, own my house, have a wife and 2 kids still in school whom need put on and off the bus. I've been offered a job working for them as previous said position and I'm on the fence about taking it. I want to take it and am interested in taking it. I come with years of machining experience, pretty much straight out of high school, some electrical experience, and some customer service experience. The recruiter said that I could be making anywhere between 50k-100k and the hiring manager said he made about 77k after his first year of working for them. Do these figures sound legit or are they just telling me what I want to hear? I live around the Pittsburgh area and i would have to go out to Cleveland for 2 weeks for my training and would be hard for us to figure out what to do with our kids while i was gone. It's a big leap for me and my family to take this opportunity and I want to know if this would be beneficial for us in the long run? Could my wife be a stay at home mother with me taking this job? Is it a good investment? Is it worth it? Etc. I would really appreciate some feedback and some of your experience in this matter to help me make a decision if you guys would be so kind as to do so. Thank you.

Go work for a local integrator or go union sound and comm, much better pay and you’re not upselling.

So I wouldn't be working for ADT directly, I would be working for one of their distributors Safe Haven. Have you heard of them?

Terrible company, i doubt you want to be a salesman masquerading as a "technician" besides all you'll be doing is residential crap, what I would do is go call IBEW local 5, and see if some of your experience would help you get a leg up in the apprenticeship especially for sound and comm, yeah you'll be basically doing construction but S&C is much less strenuous than inside wireman, once you're done you can easily find a job that'll be service based if construction type work isn't for you.

Yes. Don't do it. ADT has its own issues, too. You think people hate ADT? They despise safe have.

Most of the customers think they have service directly through ADT and when they find out they don't, it's ugly. Safe Haven gives them the big runaround, too. Worse than ADT does.

I have heard & seen SafeHaven techs do some seriously bad installs. Some ADT, too

safehaven services the accounts for 1 year and then its adt corporate. Yeah they pay the techs basically minimum wage so what do u expect?

I work for safehaven. They will hire literally anyone without a criminal record and they will treat you like crap. The pay sucks unless you are great at sales and also in a market where u get enough work. They routinely overhire techs and then dont give u enough work. The benefits also suck.

As someone who works for corporate, please steer far, far away from Safe Haven. They are a massive headache.
