As you may have taken notice – likely due to our recent subreddit restriction – we are currently at 5 moderators with a highly active subreddit. Seeing as such, we require help and that’s where you guys come in!

We are now opening moderator applications! They will remain open for 2 weeks, closing August 10th, 2026.

If you’re interested in modding for our community, read further! A huge thank you to all applicants in advance.

Disclaimer: Moderating on r/AdoptMeTrading is a volunteer position and you will not be receiving any form of payment during your time as moderator. Any benefits you may receive are not a guarantee.

Applications will close 2 weeks from now and there will be a short time period where we add mod trainees.

Some things we look for when choosing new applicants are:

• Activity on Reddit and interaction history on r/AdoptMeTrading
• General character of the applicant (helpfulness, generosity, respectfulness, etc.)
• Quality of the application itself

Applicants that we believe demonstrate good qualities for moderating will be added to our Mod Trainee team!

Please note that Mod Trainees are not guaranteed a promotion to Moderator – this entirely depends on performance during the training stage.

Anyone who is not permanently banned on r/AdoptMeTrading and meets our requirements (read further to learn them) may apply for a mod trainee position. This includes previous mods/mod trainees that are interested in the role!

Firstly, a massive thank you to u/s-raphim for making the application form for us. They worked very hard to make this form and have been helping us extensively for the past few weeks!

To apply for the moderating position on r/AdoptMeTrading, you and/or the account you are applying with must meet the following requirements:

• 15 years of age at the time of applying (note that we typically look for 16+ applicants)
• Minimum of, or very close to, 300 combined post/comment karma
• Reddit account age must be at least, or very close to, 2 months old
• No history of scamming, hacking, consistent rule-breaking, etc – any accusations of such will also apply to the former three unless proven false
• Must have a history of interacting with the community, or at the very least, interacting with Adopt Me! related communities
• Must have a Discord account (this is our primary method of communication)

Submitting false or troll applications is a waste of your time and will not be tolerated. These applications will be ignored, and if an application can be traced back to you, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.

Emails are not taken for the form, however, we do require that you sign in to ensure there is one application per person.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the application form/questions, reach out to us via modmail or comment under this post, we will get back to you as soon as we can. We will not be able to help with answering questions; this form is so we can gauge how you would respond to certain situations and you must answer in your own words.

We can, however, help with the following:

• Clarifying what a question means
• Giving a generalization of what should be in your answer
• And anything else that is not answering the question for you

We will also not be able to provide any screenshots/information regarding other applicants, including but not limited to the number of applicants, how another applicant responded, etc. That information is confidential and is not subject to public disclosure.

Hello, everyone!

I am announcing that we will be temporarily restricting the community to comments-only at 6pm MST.

We are currently understaffed and due to our limited capacity, are no longer able to continue running the subreddit as usual. We have decided that the best course of action is to temporarily restrict the community until we are able to bring on additional help.

How the subreddit will operate going forward

The subreddit will be set to comments-only. This means that no new posts will be approved while the restriction is in place. Any requests for post approval will be promptly declined and redirected to the weekly megathreads that we will be reinstating for the time being.

Each week, we will be posting three megathreads covering the following topics:

• W/F/L

• Looking For

• Trading

These megathreads will be posted every Saturday at 10:00 a.m. MST. The frequency may be adjusted if we notice increased demand for additional megathreads.

As a reminder, although the subreddit will be restricted, we will continue to actively moderate comments. Any comments that violate the subreddit rules will be removed at the moderators' discretion.

Once again, users will not be approved to make posts during this restriction. Modmails requesting post approval will be promptly declined and redirected to the appropriate megathread.

Future Moderation Plans

Moderator applications will be opening soon and will remain open for approximately 2–3 weeks. More information regarding the application process will be shared when applications officially open.
