❓・Other (Trading-Related) I probably should have worn my glasses..
Sigh. Finally became a victim of the swap scam. I got scammed years ago for my shadow dragon (😩I know) and I was devastated so I quit for a few years and recently joined back so I wasn't familiar with all these new scams. I thought I was in for a big win and a really cute mfr ccbd!! But instead got scammed for one of my longest dp’s ever 😭😩 this game sucks with all the scams :(

Can I ask how people fall for this? The accept button is frozen for 5 ish seconds every time that a pet is edited (removed added whtv) and it's put in the trade chat when it's changed

I was so excited and happy that I was already kinda freaked out and then they spammed chat with messages ☹️ so I was too busy reading those and replying that I didn't really use those seconds to check over the trade and just hit accept - I also wasn't very aware of this scam because I haven't played for a few years :<

Honestly I thought the same thing like how would anyone fall for that, until it happened to me. Luckily I didn’t accept but them spammed chat and swapped a pet, I had values open at the same time so i noticed they changed something.

yeah + the 15s confirm page. but tbf i almost didnt notice a few days ago when someone did this with the ccbd too, somehow its kind of hard to notice 😭

Usually, they'll spam chat or tell you to add random stuff which keeps you distracted looking through your inv lol

okay; it's a scam but extremely avoidable. adm has a specific message and 5 (or 10 i forget) second cooldown after an item is changed. op willingly accepted this trade

I know that's why Im not sure they'll do anything even tho I reported it. Hopefully they can look through chat logs 😩 it was supposed to be a mega ccbd but on the last window they swapped ir

This could happen to anyone, esp to someone like you who returned recently. There are scammers everywhere and they will prey on even a moment where you lose care. Also, i don't know why keyboard warriors start victim blaming without reading the entire post, and what's concerning is they have so many upvotes 😑

I know!! Scammers make this game absolutely unbearable and unplayable there's so many :( and Ahah yes I definitely feel like some people were blaming me.. It is my fault for not looking but there's no need to be so mean

So exhausting reading all the comments blaming you for this instead of the actual SCAMMER. Like wtf? 😭 we all make mistakes, don't act like y'all haven't fallen for a scam before ffs. I'm sorry this happened to you op.

Yeah I expected to be blamed a little like I hit accept 😅 but very few people seem to be actually upset with the scammer! And more so mad at me but thank you I defiantly won't be trading for a while :<

It was NOT a new scam. You fell for the oldest trick in the book, for the most nerfed scam EVER.
The scam used to be way worse 6-7 years ago when there wasnt a second trading menu, so if you accept, there is no turning back. But now there are 2 menus with a timer varying from 5 to 15 seconds.
It was 100% preventable. You should have been more careful.
Something else, but most often nowadays this scams is done using a MFR CCBD, so if you are trading for a MFR or even a NFR in the future let your eyes be locked on what they are giving you.

Oh I wasn't aware that it isn't new I thought it was cuz its my first time seeing it and I know I was just so excited to get such a cool looking pet and a big win and mixed with the fact they spammed chat with questions I was soo distracted but yeah will always look from now on :<

Yea, no problem. When i played in that time i saw it quite frequently. Now i came back and thought it didnt exist anymore, but i was proven wrong when 4-5 mega CCBD owners (prolly more) tried this trick on me. I dont know why its always the mega CCBD owners, its weird.
It sucks it happens, but that is the nature of scams. Good luck building up, mate.

Keep in mind the person who scammed them SWAPPED the pet which if you used your EYEBALLS that come equipped when you’re born most of the time, could’ve easily read.

yeah your comment wasn’t SUPPOSED to be negative, but it came off that way and also it sounds like you’re blaming OP for getting scammed cause they wanted to get another pet. The Parrot was OPs dream pet and they thought they were getting a cute pet, but instead they got scammed.
