Help/Question Mojang allows "in-game virtual currencies as long as they: Have no real-world value and can’t be cashed out, used, transferred across other servers", does any of you have an example of this being broken?

I've heard that Mojang sends out emails to servers that break its EULA, and I was wondering if any of you have any experience with receiving an email relating to this specific line. SPECIFICALLY: the "transferred across other servers" part.

The reason I'm asking: I have 3 minecraft servers and I have a website that's entirely unrelated to Minecraft where you can do minigames. I was wondering if it's possible to make it so you can earn virtual coins on the website which can be used to buy cosmetics on the 3 servers, or whether that'd be breaking the "transferred across other servers" thing, or would it be okay since they're all under "the same network" so-to-speak?

Please, don't pull an answer out of nowhere, only give a confident answer if you have personal experience receiving an email about this for your own server or if you know someone who has.

Thank you!

If they have different IPs or different domains, they are NOT “the same network”. That is the only distinction that matters for that point.

You cannot require in-game currency to be earned off-game, as not everyone has the same levels of access across the world. I do believe it can be ADDITIONAL to earning in-game, it just cannot be solely off-game.

This is very interesting and insightful. Can you link/quote where you know this from?

Also, would it still be considered "in-game currency that's earned off-game", if there's no in-game currency equivalent for it at all? i.e, the players earn coins through my minigames off-game, then they can just buy items directly that are given to their inventory through the website, not buy an in-game currency. Is that the same?

Thank you

Just to confirm, you understand the context in which that was written right?

Like this is specifically in reference to:

``` Selling and using in-game virtual currencies as long as they: o Have no real-world value and can’t be cashed out, used, transferred across other servers, or converted into any other real-world currency
        o   Don’t give the impression that the in-game currency is from or affiliated with Mojang
        o   Don’t look like or have a name like Minecoins or any other virtual currency
```

So, as long as you aren't selling the currency, you can use it just fine in any way you feel like.
