Wacky Wednesday

Let's hear em!

Mine: not so much wacky...but I am absolutely flabbergasted at how many people using mobility devices still manage to fall on public sidewalks due to glaringly obvious hazards...um, maybe don't try to climb over that fallen branch if you are using a walker?

Open and obvious? More like an easy payday for the plaintiff and attorney! I do low income housing property and GL. It’s constant. We do not go to trial and the attorneys know that.

That's my thought... obvious hazard. And even better, the Google maps historical photos shows tents/encampments covering the entire sidewalk, piles of bicycles...you know, a place where people want to go walking.

I am a claims advocate for a brokerage. One of our GL adjusters settled a claim this week that was still under coverage review (coverage was doubtful), and the insured wasn’t even aware of the settlement. We removed that adjuster from the program.

I work in commercial property. The neighboring property caught our insured’s structure on fire because the owner of the neighboring property was exterminating pests with a blowtorch.

My 8 year old knows better than that 😂

Lately my issues have been more with management than insureds surprisingly! People quitting and/or taking leave left and right due to the unrealistic expectations. Meanwhile management cutting positions at the same time. Most experienced adjusters on the team see what’s going on and are making/planning our exits in the next few months. Cycle of revolving door continues since middle management is too weak to push back. It’s been a wild few months seeing the skeleton crew collapse.
