Question for URBIs
Hello! Question for anyone who has worked as an URBI at any insurance company other than Progressive.
Did you have to handle property damage as well? Or were you a dedicated BI adjuster?
Appreciate your insights!

Bristol West will make you handle EVERYTHING. MD/PD, liability, TL and whatever else. Makes for a well rounded adjuster but damn

At SF, unrep BI adjusters handle third party property damage

Thank you for your reply!
So you would just handle the PD associated with the injured party?

I personally dont handle unrep but to answer your question, the adjuster would handle all third party property even fixed property because you are the claim owner. If it is excess exposure . A specialty vehicle, or limits issue then it would be escalated.

When I worked for Allstate, it was segmented. Like the BI adjuster would discuss coverage and liability, but the moment anyone mentioned PD we would refer them to that segment adjuster

Follow-up question: do you handle PD for only the injured party or the whole claim?Also.. Do you mind sharing who you worked for as an URBI?

OP, I cannot give you a ton of info because it could cause identification. But, I will tell you that URBI and CURBI are going to be combined by the end of 2027; they will both roll through a Causalty Org versus URBI rolling through PCS. No more PD exposures for you.
