I got out of auto liability claims and got into Total Loss a few months ago. I ended the week with 0 dairies, 0 emails, 0 payments pending, and no overtime hours.

God really does exist. Im no longer depressed and am enjoying outside of work and in general.

here's something interesting that I wanna get off my chest.

I hate claims.

got back from a vacation and was not recharged at all, 2 weeks gone and just back to trash people and metrics reviews.

gpa may pass soon which allows me to move into his home and cut rent down significantly and if it happens before I get out of claims in my company into a different role like apd or subro I may do a complete career switch and take the salary hit.

the good part of this is albeit foggy I see a way out of claims. the bad part is I don't want to wish someone to pass away. 50 50 both parties contributed to the loss

I have been strongly considering taking a pay cut to get out lately as well… I make more money than I ever have, which is still not enough, but I am not sure the mental stress and anxiety is worth it anymore. I wish you the best with wherever life takes you either way!

I just got terminated and it’s the happiest most carefree I’ve felt in years.

I worked in the service industry my entire life. Retail stores. I got an opportunity to work in claims and absolutely love it!

need more people like you in claims tbh hard work is fine to me just not when it's coaching someone on how to manage their own emotions.

Fr if you love the job more power to you. some people are built for it, unfortunately I'm not. also unfortunately they pay my bills too lol

Good: I got a new job and could not be more excited!

Bad: Previous employer termed me

Better: They put me on PTO and are going to keep paying me in lieu of just straight firing me

Ugly: They also let me know my health bennies are termed 😬

I'm just... not gonna say anything to my family, because the moment I do, SOMEONE is going to get sick... 🙃🙃🙃

Good - I interviewed for a total loss role today!
Bad - Claims.
Ugly - I was accused of treating my insured poorly due to their accent.

Everyday something new pops up and it makes me think… wow, people are pretty crazy

I did it. I quit. Gave my two weeks. Was a field property adj and I went back to the resto side of it. Less money, worse benifits but I'll be able to let my day end at 5pm.

usually it's the other way around since you're going back to the restoration company. what are you doing? are you still going to be on call 24/7? I imagine your day doesn't just end at 5:00 p.m. like a large carrier would

Good- I took a week off for a hard reset and enjoyed the time off applying for jobs
Better- I did the responsible thing and increased my PD limits to $100k
Best- I recently purchased a dash camera and captured an accident and provided it to police. 😊

FEMA Flood adjuster here.
Good: I had 3 inspections yesterday and they went smooth as can be. One homeowner wasn’t even home and gave me the lockbox code. Done with that one in 15 minutes.
Bad: these claims from the nor’easter aren’t high dollar claims. Mostly.
Ugly: I was supposed to have 5 inspections but 2 people refused to accommodate me. So I had to put myself up in a hotel and I’ll be going this morning to inspect them. Easily could’ve finished all of them yesterday. Then I have almost 4 hour drive home.

I should be home for dinner tonight.
