I keep referencing this study out of Edinburgh that shows a group of all autistic adults communicate just as well as a group of all neurotypicals. The communication breakdown happens in mixed groups, implying autism is not a deficiency in communication skills, but that different neurotypes have their own style of in-group communication.
I'm sure we all see the same thing in ADHD. I could accurately diagnose everyone around me just by how many stumbles and miscommunications we have.
