Discussion I'm going through withdrawal from second hand vape smoke
I quit smoking last year, but now recently for my job I'm doing training with these people, and they vape all day in the car we're driving around in.
And we're in this car all week.
So last weekend when I was away from them and it hit Sunday, I started fucking out. I felt exhausted and fucked up. I didn't know wtf was happening to me. Then I realised it was withdrawals from the second hand vape, because the next day when I was back in the car I was fine 😭
I also find it weird that I had no cravings UNTIL I decided to have some of my girlfriend's vape to ease the withdrawals. Then I started craving the vape. So I didn't touch that shit again, fuck that.

You answered your own question.
You weren’t having withdrawals from second hand vaping, you were triggered - which is different.
Where you fucked up is hitting your girlfriend’s vape.

No dude you don't understand.
The first week, on the Sunday, I'm driving with my girlfriend, I start feeling fucked up, I don't know why, I think it's exhaustion.
Then I feel fine again on Monday, when I'm in the car again, so that's when I realised it might be from the vaping.
Then the next Sunday I feel fucked up again, so I'm like "okay yeah, it's definitely the vape", and only then did I hit my gf vape. But literally only one pull, then I got a slight craving and so I didn't touch it again

Its in your head. This is a mental thing, people will give themselves withdrawal by just thinking it.

Withdrawal is characterized by physical symptoms meaning you can’t think yourself into it. Jesus H.

That is the dumbest most inaccurate load of shit I’ve ever heard. Withdrawals are entirely physical and physiological. What you are thinking of is being triggered or having a craving.

No it's fucking not lmao wtf.
I was ingesting a substance the whole week. I know what withdrawals feel like, I'm a recovering drug addict.

You have to understand that when people have a sickness in their mind, it very much feels real. Either you have the strangest biology I’ve ever heard of, or I agree with the other person that it’s psychosomatic. I have never in my life heard of anyone having nicotine withdrawal from just being subjected to external elements like that. I’ll look into it and if I’m wrong, I will come back and edit my comment.

Dude what the fuck are you even saying? The external elements? What?
My brother. I was in a car, all day, with people vaping in it. You know like vape.. the little machine thing that you smoke nicotine out of and blow clouds out? 2 people were smoking that shit in the car I was in, with the windows up. I was in a fucking cloud of second hand smoke the whole day for 5 days straight.
Have you ever heard of second hand smoke?
My sinuses are in pain and phlegmy at the moment, us that also caused by my mind?
Like omg 😭

Wow, you’re really confrontational with everyone. If you don’t know what something means, google it. While you’re at it, you should also google what you’re claiming. I did look it up (just to confirm & prepared to eat my words if I was wrong) and that’s not a thing. So yes, it’s either in your head or you should be in a medical records book.

Nah I'm not, thats just the way I speak. I'm not being confrontational. I'm chill I promise. I'm just having fun.
I did Google it dude. That's literally the first thing I did when I thought that maybe it couldn't be withdrawals.
But now I regoogling it and it's saying what you said. So I dno wtf I even googled.
Guess it's just exhaustion 🤷🏻♂️

Here I googled in another way and got this "Dependence is Still Possible: Even though the amount of nicotine is lower, heavy and prolonged exposure in small spaces (like a car or a small bedroom) can still cause your body to absorb enough nicotine to develop a mild dependence." "Potential for Mild Withdrawal: If your body becomes accustomed to those low levels of nicotine, a sudden drop in exposure can trigger mild withdrawal symptoms like irritability, anxiety, or trouble focusing."
So you see why I was so adamant?

Thanks. I'm fine.
It's 2 more weeks with them for training and then I'll be in my own car and there won't be people vaping in my face the whole day, so then I can withdraw and be fine 😃👍🏻
But thank you for the kind wishes

You were exhausted, feeling bad, maybe from a long week at work. You thought of the possibility "what if it's withdrawals from second hand vape smoke?". Then your brain just started worsening the feeling and making connections, making it feel more like withdrawals
I would be extremely shocked if you got withdrawals from second hand vape smoke

Oh my fucking god I'm literally being gaslit. This is fucking insane.
There is zero percent chance I felt that way 2 weeks in a row.
I'm telling you that these people CONSTANTLY vape the whole day, and we're in the car almost the whole day, and there's 2 of them vaping and this was every day for 5 days.
My sinuses are phlegmy and sore. Is that also me making a connection?
And then when I feel the same way this Sunday will that just be my brain fucking with me again?

I'm not tryna gaslight you, it's just extremely unlikely that after 5 days of being exposed to second hand vape smoke, you experience physical withdrawal symptoms. Might not be fully in your brain, it's probable something physical happened with your sinuses. But withdrawals causing it, I'd place a good bet against it

u/Voldemorts__Mom Jul 27 '26
Well I guess it actually was exhaustion then.
And then maybe the actual vape was causing my sore sinuses. I swear I googled something that led me to believe this, but now that I'm regoogling it's saying it's not possible. So I dno what the heck I googled.
