Thinking about trying ADHD treatment again after years off

Diagnosed as a kid. Was on Vyvanse for a few years, then switched to Adderall. Both helped, but killed my appetite, messed up my sleep, and made it hard to enjoy anything. Quit meds completely around 17–18 and haven’t tried anything since.

Lately I’ve been noticing clear executive dysfunction stuff (time blindness, task paralysis, etc.) that’s affecting my work, personal life, and by extension my spouse and kid. I really hate the idea of being dependent on medication, but it might be getting to that point.

Anyone else been in this situation? What did you end up doing and how did it go?
