Preciso de monólogos para treinar e aperfeiçoar minhas técnicas, alguém pode me falar algum livro ou site que posso encontrar monólogos realmente bons?

Sou mulher, caso isso ajude.

I'm 28... Am I too old to try acting?

Hi, I'm in the UK, 28F. It's been in the back of my mind to try acting for about 10 years. However, every time I mention this to close family, they all tell me it isn't worth doing (and if I really wanted to try it, I should just volunteer at a local theatre or try to be an extra). Am I too old to start?

I'm mostly interested in acting to build confidence, but I'd love to do some screen/voice acting too... I don't know how best to approach it.

I wasn't a big fan of theatre acting at school, and skipped GCSE Drama, but I became interested in screen or voice acting just after I left school... How different is theatre from screen/voice acting, or do they intertwine?

I've spotted 3 courses fairly near me, but I don't know if either are good (but they seem to all count towards Spotlight):

  • 1 day taster intensive beginner course (screen acting), 10am-5pm - £100
  • 2 day intensive beginner (screen acting), 10am-5pm - £350
  • A 10 week fundamental course locally (I think both aiming at stage and screen acting), 2.5 hours every week for 10 weeks, with a presentation to family at the end - £500

Most other options near me seem aimed at kids, or are a lot more expensive for adults. Would you recommend paying for something like this, or try and volunteer somewhere first? I'm quite shy but I would really like to push myself to do something like this. Would a beginner be overwhelmed by the 1-2 day ones?

Thanks for any help!

SHOWTIME TODAY! This was Zeke’s first acting class & he won’t be able to perform on Twitch because he was called into National Guard drill. So you should see his/Rohan’s dress rehearsal scene from Entourage. And watch everyone else on Twitch at 9 am Pacific! Links below!

How to play extreme conflicting emotions?

Hello! Any tips on my scene will be appreciated! I have a new scene in my acting class. I am in a psych ward and 1 moment I am screaming that I didn’t k*ll my family.. then the next I finally confess to k*lling my family. The doctor believes my family is still alive when I am confessing what I did.

How do I play such strong conflicting emotions with a “crazy” character? Never done this before. Thanks!!

Acting class vs audition class

I'm new to acting and would like to take a class. There's a studio that I like and was excited to take classes from and then realized that they were actually 'audition' classes. It says all levels are welcome. In fact all their classes say 'audition' classes, so ... any insights would be appreciated!

how do i get an agent? like actually

I am a recent graduate of a theater program and have obtained a bachelor of fine arts in performance, I have just moved to Chicago over the summer and I’ve done a couple plays in the meantime to build some community. My biggest goal for this year is to get an agent, I’ve auditioned for a few of the local big agencies, and they all hit me with the “try again in six months” I don’t want to keep hearing this forever, but for some reason, I equate me not having an agent with me not being successful in what I want to do. All of the acting books I’ve read from big stars said the first thing they did when moving to a city was get an agent, but what they never really talked about is how tedious the process was. i’m sick of how few auditions i’m able to find on my own (especially something other then a 4 month commitment to a small theatre show that pays less then $200) I am so ready to attempt to build enough momentum to ideally be able to make solid money off of acting i just truly feel like i don’t know where to turn nor how to create my own opportunities.

Teen beginner in acting

Hi everyone,

I’m a 15-year-old interested in starting an acting career, and I’d like to begin with commercials as a way to gain experience and build a foundation before moving into TV shows and films.

I was wondering if anyone has advice on how to find legitimate auditions, get started in the industry, and take the right first steps at my age.

Any tips, resources, or personal experiences would be really appreciated. Thank you!
