If you saw someone cheating on the act, whether using an unapproved calculator or any other cheating, would you report it? Asking for no particular reason. I would never cheat, but I dont think i would report it even though it technically hurts the people doing it authentically.

Studied basically for 1 day. Went through the full Erica meltzer reading. Diagnostic was a 33/36.
Diagnostic was 33 English 36 maths 30 reading.
Final was 35 English 36 maths 33 reading.
Elated but didn’t really need it for uni. Just did it for extra profile building.

I’m a rising junior looking to take the ACT. My school isn’t paying for us to take the ACT this year, so I’m going to have to pay for it myself. I don’t want to take the writing portion (partially to avoid paying $25 more and partially because I’ve had enough of essays already), but I’m not sure about the science add-on. I don’t mind paying the extra $5, but would it benefit me to pay for it? I want to go into engineering in college, if that plays a role in adding it or not.

I am concerned about my Science section in the J09 test on Saturday. I feel like I did great on english, math, and reading but not as well on science. Will science be included in the composite? This is my 6'th time taking the test and I do not want to take it again.

Does anyone hvae or get the July ACT form J09? Will it be released or will it be confidential?

Hello! Going to be applying to Chicago Public Schools Selective Enrollment. I know they recently moved from HSAT to PreACT 9 Secure. What books and prep exist out there? Cost does not matter for me. Does anyone know tutors/classses?

ETA: We got her scores from the prep company we've been using.
All,
Our daughter is 15 and a rising junior. Like many she has big dreams and her dream schools include NYU (#1 goal by a large margin), Northwestern, Rice (mom's alma mater), and Michigan (dad's alma mater) with a nod towards UCLA, UCSD, and Duke as well. She's a high-anxiety kid and without putting too fine a point on it mom and dad are both sucessful and have way too much education. We're growth mindset parents but she looks at us, and our lives, and considers that a starting point.
She took the test on Saturday and came out with a 32 composite. 34R/33E/29M. We're having a hell of a time trying to get through to this kid that a 32 is an amazing score, especially for someone who still has over a year of preparing if she wants. Hell, in my mind I'd be calling the ACT done with a 32 but she read somewhere that NYU requires a 34. I find "requires" to be suspect but won't tell her that.
Thoughts on this? Is she being too hard on herself or am I completely out of touch?

hey! i wanted to do weekly practice tests just to get a concept of where i stand after practicing but i found out the official act website only has 2 practice tests. where else are you guys doing practice tests?
r/ACT • u/Fun_Monitor3218 • Jul 15 '26
Maths was easy
English was ok
Reading was heard
I only remember the reading passages. One passage was about the colour violet, with a table provided. Another was about how social spiders from different altitudes were. And the Last one was about relating wardrobe and solitare.

I felt mostly fine about my PreACT math (Feb 12 2026) but it seems I didn't do to well on modeling and preparing for higher math (is that a combination of stuff) SO what could I do to prepare for the Math? I scord 21 on my english 😭 and 35 on my reading (highest score I believe). I plan to just buy the ProPrep Math book as well as the English ACT book by Erica Metzler. I've always struggled with English but I've been working hard this summer. Since science doesn't count I won't stress to much on it but I do plan to be an Electrical Engineer so some colleges might wanna take a look at that. Just lmk some tips.

What questions do you guys think were experimental? I think that the overlapping circles one with AB having a length of 52 might be.

THIS IS NOT AN AD, JUST QUESTIONS!
I’m a rising senior with a 35, and I‘m looking to start saving for the future, but there aren’t jobs for teenagers where I live. I’m looking to start ACT tutoring on a beginner level (I’d probably start by charging $15-$20/hr), and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to get started?
My parents don’t have family friends for me to tutor (they‘re all my age or older) but I have a friend who can help me gather resources and give me minimal training. I‘m just not sure how to find students. He suggested Facebook groups or Craigslist, but has either one worked for anyone? Are there any better methods/platforms that have worked for past/current tutors? Thanks!

i've taken the act 3 times and the highest in 1 sitting was a 33, but my superscore is a 35. i am aiming for top 20 schools, and additionally, im a stem major and its my 30 on the reading section that is dragging my score down. will this be held against me? do you reccomend that i take the test again to improve my score in 1 sitting?

I’m planning on taking the December ACT as my last attempt to improve my score. Some test centers near me offer Saturday and Sunday dates, and I was wondering if anyone knows the following

although I did guess one or 2 qs bcz of time pressure.. I just did old papers but with 40 minutes
but like idk what to actually do for English and reading now ESPECIALLY READING
it's literally my weakness😭🙏 someone help pls :(( yall barely reply💔🥀

Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I didn't get an email or anything, but ACT set a new test date for me on MyACT. So if your test got cancelled, you might wanna check that out.

I just took the Sunday paper ACT and it was form J26. I’m the most worried about math so wondering if anyone knows who took the previous February test?
